Ellie the lgbtqia+ shroom slayer is the whole vibe of the show now. At least Buffy was hot and less annoying. S01 was cool though.

@Jivaro

Yeah, I quoted your post but my reply was generally directed towards the naysayers here. Don't take it personal . Your quote just fit the previously expressed sentiment pretty well where some people were pretending as if something here is taken away from them or being defiled by nVidia, the devil incarnate (... when this really isn't the case at all as the original version isn't going anywhere AND while this is just a Remix demo of two levels with unfinished tweaking/lighting/optimizations AND most/many of the naysayers haven't even downloaded or played the demo yet to see or compare for themselves).
The consensus is that the implementation is lazy and could've been done better if they had bothered to adjust the amount of lighting for each scene to be more in line with the originals artistic vision. That's it. Why are you making excuses trying to invalidate negative feedback? Why do you think there's a demo in the first place? Feedback is useful for improvement. For reference I own a 5090 and am currently playing Cyberpunk with full path tracing, so the nvidia hater card won't fly.

The retailer is Swedish and so am I. Supposedly it's because the price was supposed to be higher initially before the launch was pushed back, but retailers had already paid for and received stock. So when AMD cut the price for the actual launch they're subsidizing retailers and/or board partners to make sure the price of MSRP models line up, but only for the first shipment. This first shipment technicality is why retailers restock and change price within a day. They already had more than the first shipment in stock. Managed to snag an XT for MSRP from said retailer, but I agree that it's in AMD's best interest to keep prices low instead of exploiting that NVIDIA has no stock at all if they want to gain market share. Apparently they just don't care about market share enough to ignore short term profit, or they don't think it's worth the risk because NVIDIA can afford to just cut the price at any time as soon as there's inventory.

I was thinking the same thing when watching a youtube video about the possibility of ChatGPT NPCs in Elder Scrolls 6. The host was asking brief questions to NPCs such as bartenders and patrons and the chat response would go on and on. I don't see how this would make a game more fun to play.
Can't be any worse than previous entries with cut and paste ircbot/wikipedia-tier entries for dialogue.

Found a mod that autowins crusade battles. Using that now instead of built in auto. No wasting time, no missing out on content.

90 hours in and I hope Owlcat never stops making these games. The CRPG part is just like the classics but bigger and better, and with turn-based mode from launch so you can play Pathfinder/D&D like it was meant to be played. Story and writing is much improved over Kingmaker, but the management aspect is more poorly designed.

I tolerated the management in Kingmaker, but this one is just too like HoMM, but too basic and poorly designed at the same time so it just ends up as a giant waste of time. Not worth the effort when you could just be playing HoMM instead. Setting it to auto mode soon even though it'll make me miss out on loot rewards. Still, I appreciate them trying, and maybe they can salvage it with the help of modders and patches like they managed to add turn-based in Kingmaker. As that was what made Kingmaker take the step from above average to greatness for me.

Have you TRIED a 40" or larger TV as a display? I can't imagine having less vertical resolution as being an advantage. So now instead of full-frame, you're looking through a slit, like a tank, and the curve makes it so that anything other than games look weird. Try using Photoshop with no straight lines, or movies with bars on the left and right.

Movies generally use a cinema aspect ratio of ~21:9. It's TV shows that generally use 16:9.

It would be more appealing thematically and maybe at least slightly controversial if you were playing a German MG42 operator on D-day. Maybe next game!

I shouldn't be, but I am a bit surprised at the bashing of the graphics. Who cares. be happy with a very well written game and a great experience, of which all of their games have been. Calm down.

Derp, graphics are for kids.
Except Bethesda games have the worst possible writing around. Let me remind you.

I'm over 30 and I would consider myself a 'real gamer'. Gaming has been my life since about 6 years old when I got my NES. Yes, Fallout 3 is shit compared to Fallout 1 and if you disagree you're not a real gamer. Deal with it.

I have no idea who these people are, nor do I care about what they have to say about random Youtube comments, Reddit posts, Twitter posts, 4chan posts or any other random internet place arbitrarily associated with gaming. That shit has nothing to do with gaming itself. It's simply people who enjoy messing around and/or being hateful online, and apparently Gamasutra 'writers' fit the bill perfectly. (S)he who fights monsters. How's that for a trope.

I hope they take exactly as long as they feel they need to and ignore the impatient whiners. Making it count is infinitely more important than releasing before some arbitrary date, especially so when it comes to Obsidian and their history. That's what will turn this into a true success, both for Obsidian and everyone who backed it.

If you want to help, play the beta. If not, just fucking wait.

I don't know why developers/publishers don't offer a public beta test to everyone who preorders a game, whether on Kickstarter or at retail... The final release can only be better for it.
Because a project seldom profits from a public beta. Most, well, nearly ALL gamers dont know shit on how to report bugs or to make proper, valid gameplay & balancing suggestions. Most of them just want to play the game as early as possible and nothing more.
This is an extremely ignorant and flawed opinion and why games are mostly, well, nearly ALWAYS a complete mess upon release.

Newsflash: any time someone has their smartphone up, they could be filming. In metropolitan areas where people of the age of 30 or less hang out, that means pretty much all the time.

It's incredibly obvious when someone is filming or taking a picture with a smartphone. No one holds it camera-side pointed straight out in general use.
I hope you realize that there are more ways than one to hold a smartphone while filming, especially if you aim to film with stealth rather than quality.
