They only say that shit for business reasons, but I still can't help but say yay.

It's not revolutionary in a grand sense, but in the MMO field it's pretty impressive. It's actually fun to play, and the absurd experience rewards weren't toned down, which kind of boggles me (I thought I was on an accelerated path, as I hit level 20 in like a day and a half of solid playing). Which is really bizarre since I never made it out of the prologue and there's supposedly an Act 1 story.

From what I have heard levels 1-30 go relatively fast but levels 31-50 are much slower.

Just want to point out, for those still 'on the fence', that this is a bit misleading... It's true that each class (not advanced class) has a unique story... However, that's like 20% of your questing, if not less... Meaning, 80% of your time is spent doing the same shit you did on your last character, and unlike some other games (WoW, for example), it is just about all in the same place and same order.

Each faction has 2 starting areas, but once you leave that one, you're in the same location as the other 2 classes.

I would guess that people who want to play it as a singleplayer game will get two really good campaigns out of it, a republic and an empire. The minor differences within each faction are not enough for a third immediate playthrough. Maybe down the road if you want to replay the game they will add some spice.

Picked this up inspired by Ars Technica's column about playing it as KOTOR 3. I have to say it's really damn solo friendly and singleplayer-like. It does not surprise me a lot of MMO vets are complaining it's like a singleplayer game on the surface.

Usually I would dislike the idea of paying monthly and always being online for a singleplayer game. For Bioware and Star Wars I am making an exception, plus I leave the country in 3 weeks so I won't be paying any monthly fees until 2013, and by then it might be free-to-play.

You should take better care of your computer so you don't have technical problems that you need to blame on user mods.

Missing water textures on occasion is a known bug with the 4GB patch that many have mentioned. Maybe he updated it again, I dunno, but it's pretty irrelevant Drama boy.

See above response. I can disagree that the world is round but that doesn't somehow nullify the fact that the world is indeed round.

You're confusing something called a fact with opinions. "This UI sucks" is an opinion. "The world is round (or spherical actually)" is a fact.

Yeah you're a real angel, implying that installing this is somehow a hassle and will affect stability. The 4GB launcher made my water disappear even though it is completely unrelated!! Console ownership sounds like the ticket for you.

Yes drama queen, because I think the normal UI is fine and replacing a small part of it is not worth the effort involved I should be a console gamer. I feel so ashamed of myself.

Skyrim's UI is objectively lousy.

The very fact I disagree with you makes your statement incorrect.

Seriously, if I was happy with the default UI I wouldn't be clicking on the enhanced skyrim ui topic just to tell people I'm not getting it but I'm just weird that way.

Internet forum addiction is a serious illness.

There is no hassle or downside to installing this, it is literally better than the default ui in every way and you give up nothing.

Hey look, you made a subjective statement sound like a fact.

You've already spent more time and effort reading through these comments and responding than it takes to do either of those things.

Which I was going to do anyway. In any case, it's not just the time it's also the possible technical issues. People act like the 4GB thing works perfect but I had missing water textures when using it from time to time. Also I don't want to mess with an already stable engine any more than I have to.

And really it all boils down to it not being worth it. I don't really have much issue with the default UI and this one isn't even done yet anyway.

Both are worth your time if you're going to be modding Skyrim. =)

Problem with that is that some of us only want one or two mods, so it's a hassle and a half to go through that shit. I don't really mod content, just the UI and maybe the map.

Default UI isn't that bad when you get used to it, when you do, you handle it FAST. The key is using only keyboard and ignoring the mouse.

Yeah, agreed. Most complaints I see are form people who can't stop using the mouse.

The only reason I would get this is the greater sorting options, but it's not worth the hassle for that alone at the moment. Maybe when I play Skyrim again in a couple years and the mod is complete.

Not sure if I'd go that far. Granted, the writing and role-playing are improved from Oblivion but that's not saying much. I still don't really care about any of the characters, the companions are all generic and most quests don't really have any interesting story. You also can't talk your way through the game. New Vegas is still the better RPG.

Well I said improved, as in better than their recent efforts. New Vegas is a different developer entirely, and I do agree it's a much better roleplaying game.

Good for them IMO. Great game. Simplified from older TES games a bit, but in ways that make sense rather than in ways that make it feel dumbed down. Also, the roleplaying was expanded and the writing vastly improved.

Good show all around. Can't wait for expansions.

Actually, I was asking why SV couldn't play this until 2013, since the game is going to be released in 2012.

I'm going overseas for a year to teach English and only taking a laptop. I plan to play through all the old infinity engine games again and some other classics.
