Wouldnt be so sure on that, haven't tested YESTERDAY's patch so will have to confirm but online was an AWFUL experience in the 4 games I joined, in fact I dont think we made it through the first two levels without people CTD and lagging all over the place.

Still, its a great game and unique they did well for themselves despite the teething issues.

Im guessing this has to do with refresh rate etc.. But can anyone explain wtf this means...

"Screens that are light on detail may make your system overheat if cooling is overall insufficient"

F**king had me stumped rofl

I will shift to silent hunter game series(same drm).

I am silent hunter fanboi, I own every game(boxed) until 4. I bought 4 even though I knew it was going to be just as buggy as 3 but I am just lover of this series. However, I did not buy 5, why? one reason DRM. I may consider the game if they remove DRM with a patch down the road along with more fixing(game is buggy as previous games). So I wouldn't jump to conclusions that faithful, fanboys and addicts will buy games regardeless, I did not. I was a hardcore addict besides fanboy as I used to even run biggest unofficial buglist for sh3 with submissions around the world.

Great avatar and quote btw! Brought back great memories of that series!

I've been playing all evening with the new patch and haven't run into any of the problems being discussed. Not sure what's up, maybe it's something on the server side for some hosts.

This 2x

No issues for me since patch, if anything its running slightly better for me. Bummer that others have issues though, you'd think they would have figured it out by now

It's a week trial. 7 Days. Which costs $1?

Are you serious?
If you are actually interested in a game like this I dont think the $1 will put you off. Guess its for people whom are borderline wanting to buy the game and play but just wanna see how it runs and stuff before commiting the full wack.

Looking forward to trying this.

Played it at launch and was buggy and missing what I felt polish but the whole attackable anywhere scenerio really makes it stand out as one of thos original kinda UO type games Pre (screw up)

The $1 is I believe a small attempt to stop all the gold farmers and duplicate tards from having tonnes of accounts all logged on at same time or sat in main towns spamming free gold. At least they need to cough up a small amount first before Darkfall GMS ban them.

Hey works for me if the team get a bit of extra cash from these farmers whom seem to ruin most MMO these days.

$1 is nothing! I'd consider it

I haven't got round to sending out the codes yet, partly due to the fact that I had a mixture of requests on here and a mixture via email (a lot) lol.

Please can everyone who would like one resubmit through on the email. Would be much easier so I don't go sending 2x key to one peson etc.

Personally I'd recommend WoW, I know it causes some people to vomit violently the mere word, but if you want a tidy interface from boot (without needing to download extras) and something simple enough at the start to ease you into an MMO for the first time, you can't really go wrong. But hey, I am addicted to WoW so I would admit i'd praise it wherever possible

Cheers all

JP

MMO these days are so frickin competitive it's not true. I've tried my fair share of MMO and one of the things that really gets someones attention is a slick interface, gfx which you dont need to spend the first 35 minutes tweaking so you can say "hey thats looking lush and smooth" and which have a certain fluidity to them.

Whilst VG might need higher specs than most machines, I just didnt find it that engrossing as a lot of people say it is. The populations despite what everyone will argue are not that great. I tried this back at release and about a month ago returned on a free trial (I actually bought the CE edition lol) and it just doesnt have anything to make you think "wow i cant wait to play that again when I get home"

I have a good 8 or something trial codes which I got with it, perhaps I should distribute them out to some of the eager bluesfans though I gotta say, you'll enjoy the patching process and the excitment of having it ready to play more than actually playing it.

But thats just my view, I'm usually wrong on most things and I'm sure I'll get shot down for saying them

Fantastic Expansion...

Upgrade process was smooth and painless.

My server came down at midnight for 2 minutes, when it came back up, everything was fine!

Dark portal was heavily outnumbered by alliance! (sea of red) but all in all great fun, the new world is amazing.

Im with Schma on this one.

Definately a fantastic expansion to the series. Really impressed at how well they've captured it all. Cant go wrong by trying this trial. I definately recommend.

P.S I've gone through my slew of MMO over the years and this one is a definate top lister.

I'm confused as to the general consensus on this one as one person says it sucks the other person says it's the holey grail.

I'm going to have to try this n decide for myself. I enjoyed BF2, the only downside to it was all the laggy caching crap that went on for a 1gig system. CBA upgrading to 2gig just for sloppy programming.

Ah well.

Shard Siege seems like a massive time sink to get up to par with all the other players ingame according to the rules in terms of skill/stat gain caps.

Whats the server like ping wise from Europe? And are you able to give a run down on why you consider it to be the ultimate shard? You're teasing my interests to get back on UO seeing as all other MMO out there (even future ones) probably won't cut the mustard of the original crew.

People need to pull their fingers out their asses when it comes to being obsessed with gfx these days. Developers are spending too much time working on a game looking good that they miss content and immersion.

I'll check out the shard siege and read up on rules

I'll be keeping an eye on this. As much as the gfx etc are all dated now, i still think it has/had and amazing system inplace and a immersion not many other games came close to.

What with Warhammer online and conan etc coming out soon, it'll be a backup incase these all bum out.

Looking forward to seeing a screeny. I'm guessing still 2d right?

Basically yup, but the more interesting point is that it hardly had any of that from launch. Was more a glorified flight simulator than anything else.

Looked nice though! And yeah it was the skydiving one. It had some music which I think i've enjoyed most in recent MMO's for some reason.
Tranquil..

And when it snowed, it just felt really peaceful.

LOL....

For the love of god... DONT "Take part in the project at the price of USD$39.99"

Let this sink! It's not worth it. So much promise, but unless they change their whole approach to how they treat their customers, the game would never succeed. Even if it offered free sex (well maybe not that far )

"It's "free" because it's full of ads."

Or possibly because even the developers smell shite at this stage?
