The present administration in Washington will likely go down in history as one of the dumbest, most backwards-looking administrations in U.S. history. The problem is that whenever the government steps in and interferes with private business on whatever pretext it uses, it's always for the sake of "the consumer." However, rarely can it be shown that the consumer benefits. How the TWC customers are supposed to benefit from continuing on as TWC customers beats me. I've not seen anything to support that position come out of Washington. What I have seen is the government acting on anti-Comcast sentiment that is 100% emotional/political--so it was not "the consumer" who benefited here: it was the anti-Comcast crowd. Makes me feels sorry for the ailing TWC's customer base.

Comcast could do better, though, in upgrading its own Internet
infrastructure to a minimum of 25Mbs/sec down for the rates it presently supplies 6Mb/sec down. Had the company done that first and then sought the merger--it's likely it would have been greenlighted from the get-go. Resisting universally higher broadband connection speeds will not help Comcast in any way.

Well I have to disagree with you here. The consumer definitely won in this round. Comcast, Time/Warner, Charter, AT&T all have drastically cut their infrastructure and customer support spending. The only real place you see them spending any money on it is where google has stepped in and offered an better internet option. Anyone thinking a merger would improve that is high on something. I have a friend who is 4 houses from a Time/Warner cable line, do you think they would extend it? Not a chance. His only option is those bumbling buffoons from Frontier who he had to give up on.

Britain had a decent solution. They opened the last mile to anyone, there is decent competition there now.

Making monopolies bigger never fixes anything. I have seen some studies that indicate that cable internet makes 97 cents for every dollar of income. I would bet most other industries would kill for such a profit margin.

The guy who wrote the Forbes article is writing it from a investor point of view. Sure balance sheets would have looked better, but that is not something the public cares about unless you are one of the few large investors.

You have to wonder if he realizes how stupid he sounds?

He doesn't actually believe that people will fall for his nonsense?

A lot of hype for a very mediocre game. Been extremely disappointed that I spent money on this game. I feel sorry for the people who continue to spend money on it because you are ignorant of the far better games out there.

It is pretty obvious from the ludicrous manual space station docking to the ridiculous flight dynamics that this is a another flight simulator that the developers have attempted to pass off as a space game.

Enough with this Apple watch nonsense. It is basically a pretty useless gadget that techno junkies buy just to say they have one. Heck if you want to impress someone, buy a Rolex it is far more impressive and does just about the same thing.

Just wish someone would look at MOO 2 and improve on that. I did not really like gal civ 2 so I doubt this one will fix the problems I had with it.

It is a game and who cares who does the voice acting? You guys are a bit over the top sometimes. Not a huge fan of Sean Penn as he is on the opposite end of the spectrum, but he is a good actor. If you let politics enter into your entertainment choices you will have a very limited and distorted experience.

This game is a money sink, long wait times for anything and the only way to speed things up is gold which you have to buy.

So this game really has little to do with strategy, it is just a casino where the winners get to own you.

Got some fond memories of Star Control 2. I wish someone would remake Star Flight 2 though, that game was ahead of its time.

Ditto on that, Starflight was probably my favorite game of the era. I remember taking the computer upstairs and connecting it to the tv just so I could see it in color.

I liked Star Control, but I think MOO 2 was a better game at the time. Of course not one of these space strategy games has ever improved on MOO 2 either.

Rather juvenile to delete all you characters and whine about it. So the game is going in a direction you don't like. Move on. Probably good for him considering how many paragon levels he had. He needs to get out of his mothers basement and walk outside some.

I can appreciate new and fresh marketing ideas, but this is pretty weak and juvenile.

Agree...they need to clean house in the marketing department.

They are getting mud all over their face and they don't like it.

Too bad, they deserve all of it and then some for putting out a half finished game, then charging those that want to finish it.

There are some idiots dumping thousands in the Game of War. I have been playing it for some time only throwing in some lunch money once in a great while. There are players that have 1000 times the power of the average player.

I would have to say it is probably the worst of the worst when it comes to pay-to-win.

Unless you have a few thousand laying around to dump in this game then expect to be owned all the time.

Wired should look at what some of these developers are putting out games these days. Buggy code is the norm now, which may or may not ever get fixed. At least Chris Roberts is not releasing it as finished code which most of them do.

Another game released with bugs galore. What is wrong with developers these days that can't even bother to fix glaring game breaking errors before release?

It could be a decent game if they fixed it, but as it is, it is a POS.

You really don't understand what that law does, do you?

It legalizes discrimination against anyone as long as you claim you hold a "sincerely held religious belief" that prevents you from treating someone you don't like/don't want to like/looks or acts different than you with any respect whatsoever. It will be especially hard on people in small and rural communities where there may only be one place to get a type of product or service.

So you'll support me when I sue a Jewish cafe owner for not selling me pork products? Can a Jewish person demand something on the menu at Red Lobster be kosher?

How does that look like a reasonable analogy to you? Can I go to Jiffy Lube and demand a kosher menu? A Jewish cafe owner probably doesn't sell pork products. Red Lobster may not have Jewish cooks on staff to prepare kosher foods. This isn't about stores not selling products or services they don't currently offer, it's about denying service to people they don't like.

You are completely off the wall. NO one should be forced to do something that violates their religious principles. It has nothing to do with like or dislike.

Sony is bleeding cash right now. They are selling any that has any value. I would not surprised to see Sony get out of the games arena entirely if their cash position does not improve.
