really wish i had waited for this, because im not going to be replaying this anytime soon, if ever

yeh... its quite possibly the days of replaying anything are behind me

The only stuff I tend to replay is old SNES era where you can pick it up and put it down easily. I wish I had more time for replays, games like New Vegas are begging for more playthroughs but there is just so much shit on the market and very little time to play it due to responsibilities. I swear going into retirement I'm going to have a list of like 500 games to play.

and you can tell all that just by reading this press release?

It feels like you're overreacting to what he said. There have been leaked benchmarks for awhile and they line up with the specs AMD released today. People are just talking about the hardware, not who is in what camp. I buy price for performance and features, I don't care what logo is slapped on the box to be honest.

News Comments > Shenmue 3 Kickstarter Instantly Funded
20. Re: Shenmue 3 Kickstarter Instantly Funded Jun 16, 2015, 12:24 Verno

Sega was already on the ropes from the SegaCD, 32X and Saturn being failures. The Dreamcast did alright but both consumers and retailers were confused by the constant barrage of hardware and Sony had a ton of third party support. There were a lot of piracy concerns from the retailers and publishers as well. A lack of direction and massive losses from several failed hardware initiatives killed Sega's hardware efforts. The Dreamcast itself did alright but never really had adequate support from the third party market nor a lot of time to succeed.

My Palm is 2 inches deep in my forehead right now.

The Dreamcast was the best console I've ever owned with some of the best games I've ever played. (and yeah I've owned them all) NKL2K set the standard for what madden has become. The first time you saw it and played it was a jaw dropping experience. Phantasy star online, playing a Multi user dungeon MMORPG with thousands of people in 2000? Skies of Arcadia.. best JRPG experience for me.

I could go on and on.

Shenmue was an incredible game at the time, no other game was like it.

Yeah I have to say its a bit disappointing to see all of the shit talking, much of it from people with no experience with the console or game. Oh well.

Personally I'm looking forward to this, nostalgia goggles or not.

I wasn't unfortunate enough to own a Dreamcast, so no. I've watched streaming of it and was bored to tears.

Dreamcast had some pretty rad games actually. Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Jet Set Radio, NFL2K, Crazy Taxi, Power Stone, etc.

Fuck the Kinect, glad that thing is toast. Nice hardware but complete failure as a gaming peripheral, overpriced as anything else.

It was interesting to watch my GFs reaction to a certain character coming into harm who she previously thought had plot armor. I've told her several times no one has plot armor in this series but oh well. It's also cool to see it diverging more and more from the books in some aspects, I guess as much out of necessity as anything else. Some people seemed disappointed with it online but I thought it was a great finale.

Happy Bday to Mrs Blue.

That leaked survey thing has a whole section on collecting resources, thanks EA just what people love about your games - BUSYWORK!

Witcher 3 proved you can have meaningful secondary content without making it repetitive grindathons, why can't EA with its infinitely bigger pockets figure this out?

now Sony should make PS4 backwards compat. with PS3 titles. (HURRY UP!)

They've already remade several of the bigger titles and many others are on PS Now. With the newer consoles libraries starting to fill out it doesn't make a lot of sense to commit time to backwards compatibility. Microsoft is just trying to win the press release war, it makes little practical difference at this point. It's only first party games anyway, most publishers will not be bothering with it.

Really mixed on this because I loved the first game, by far one of my favorite games from last year but without Obsidian this has a high chance of sucking.

I think this sort of creative game is well suited to showcasing VR, moreso than just lazy ports of FPS games or whatever. I'm very excited about seeing more unique games that are suited to the hardware. Anyways looks interesting but agreed with the others that need to see a playable implementation myself.

Also, just in case you have never ever bought a CoD game in your entire life, Activision is making the entire collection available as a bundle, just in case you wanted to buy them all in one shot. All of the games, and all of the DLC can be yours for the low, low price of $299.99. Allthumbsup

That's about what I expected from Activision hahah.

Looks so awesome, can't wait. Dark Souls II had some of the most entertaining PVP, the covenants were so fun. PC port had a few small warts but overall was fine for me. Now I just need to put the finishing touches on Bloodborne run #2.

I think making people pay and still forcing ads is probably the biggest reason, especially since the competition does not. If you're going to force ads on the pay option, have one short ad at the start and that's it. I agree that the limitation you mention is just stupid as well.

Agreed. A lot of people are just used to an ad free experience on Netflix now and good luck getting them to go back. If I'm paying a premium then I want an ad free tier, no silly device restrictions and other nonsense too. Hulu+ was stupid, I could watch some stuff from a PC and other stuff on a tablet but not on other devices. I found it a bizarre experience overall, I kept hoping the cable networks would sell it but they changed their mind at the last minute.

Supposedly the Xbox One version will have mod support? Fucking weird. How will that even work? A simple NPC mod could bring the system to its knees.
