So Fury X costs around the same as a 980 TI, doesn't perform as well, and it consumes more power too?

Also requires a non-standard rad mount for its liquid cooler. I feel a bit bad for AMD, they're stuck between a rock and a hard place due to fab issues while operating with a tiny budget compared to their competitors.

I think a good example is that Hyrule Warriors game. People screamed bloody murder but it was a great musou game and didn't damage the Zelda brand at all. People just want a regular Metroid game and that's understandable but getting all angry about this one seems misplaced.

As for the 30fps, I don't think it matters much in a game like FO4. It's not going to be a twitch shooter. Forza Horizons 2 runs at 30fps, and it feels smooth as butter. I don't doubt that FO4 would feel the same way.

MMM, I dunno. Black Flag on Xbone runs at 30 FPS as well, and FEELS like it. FH2 runs on voodoo magic, if you weren't TOLD it runs at 30 FPS....you'd think it was going at 60.

AMD has a handful of people on the driver team, they laid off a ton of people in the reorg awhile back. Nvidia has a huge driver team, not to mention developer out reach programs. The reason AMD performance tends to suck on release is because they invest less money into this, both before and after release. You can fire off a question to Nvidia or put in a request for a driver level tweak and get an answer that day. You do the same thing with AMD you're waiting weeks. The constant tessellation problems were a good example of that, people kept saying it was Nvidia specific stuff but it turned out AMD was to blame.

And this is why people should never have uploaded pictures to fb and tagged them.

Sometimes its not you though. I've had my picture taken at parties and stuff, people upload that shit to facebook unfortunately. Good luck never having your picture taken with your woman and friends, the only real way around that is never having any.

VR is not a fad. It's just a question of whether this iteration of VR picks up steam (lol) or not. As the tech shrinks and becomes more power efficient its just going to become more popular.

They've made $10mil in revenue so far. The founder basically said the game has at least covered initial expenses though which is good. The remaining cash will have to keep them going while they finish it and work on other projects. Hopefully the game has a long life span.

Do you guys here still have a wallet with paper money? All I can find in mine (in terms of money) is 7 2Ä coins, 3 1Ä coins, and a EC card +.+

Haven't actually needed paper money in quite a while.

I still deal mostly with cash for everyday expenses as I find it makes me a bit more cost conscious. There are some things I use a CC for like online orders of course.

As far XP goes that's simply not true. You got xp for sneaking around and finding non-aggressive alternate routes.

The problem is that certain actions rewarded more XP than others. For example, non-lethal takedowns offered more XP than lethal takedowns. You also got more XP for being stealthy than for running and gunning. Finally, you got XP for hacking, even if you already knew the keycode. The end result? The optimal playstyle was the stealthy, non-lethal ninja hacker. True ghosting (sneaking around undetected and without neutralizing anyone) wasn't rewarded at all.

The original DX handled XP rewards better. You got XP for completing quests and exploring. That's it. No one playstyle was encouraged over another. I was hoping they'd do the same for DX:MD but it looks like that isn't the case.

Agreed. A more equal split of XP rewards is definitely called for, HR had some really weird stuff going on where it felt like they wanted you to do certain play styles regardless of what the environment was presenting you.

We donít have to take advice from anybody anymore. We were wrong. Everybody whom we consulted with on Sunset was wrong.

It's worth noting that their main consultant was Leigh "Gamers are dead. Gamers don't have to be your audience." Alexander, Alcoholic and SJW.

Seems like if you want to actually make some money selling a PC game, gamers DO have to be your audience!

Hahaha that figures. I hate to see any dev fail but its a business and they misread their audience. They don't deserve antagonism but they don't deserve sympathy either, shit happens.

Am I the only one finds most of this argument rather contrived? Used to be when an expansion released that included the base game, the company was praised for it.

Since when is $50 for an expansion not the norm? How many of the people going ape shit over this used to pay $180 a year for WoW + $50 (or more) for a bi-yearly expansion and never had a second thought about the cost of it all?

I guess it depends on the content involved with the expansion and if it warrants a $50 price tag for someone who already bought the game. I understand it for someone who is coming in fresh and gets both the game + expansion but the pricing seems weak for the expansion alone as an upgrader. That's just my surface comment without doing more digging anyway.

Some people seem to equate free speech with the right to offend without facing consequences.

Some people seem to equate free speech with the right to offend without facing consequences. I'm older so when i say something i'm always ready and willing to assume the consequences no matter how extreme they may be.

Sure, we have a few trolls on the boards who could use a lesson in facing the consequences for their toxic behavior but such is life. Disagreed on the latter. The flipside of that though is some people think that anything that offends them should be immediately changed and that they deserve some sort of recompense. Sometimes you just get offended by something and have to live with it.

The game isn't even out yet, I'm not going to judge how its used until I see how its handled in the proper context. I don't think they have to be sensitive to anyone or anything either, marketing is often controversial and I don't think this is crossing any lines.

This marketing spin AMD has been doing with "great for 4K gaming!!!" is pretty retarded. The 390X is not suited for 4K and the added 4GB of vram is essentially useless since the card doesn't have the muscle anyway, you need a dual card solution at that point.
That crap AMD pulled with KitGuru was disappointing to read about too. They basically yanked his review sample because of "negative coverage of the 300 series". How is he supposed to cover another set of rebadged cards? It is what it is. That's some shit I would expect from Nvidia.

The Fury X is the only compelling card in the line up and even then why do I want a video card that barely competes with a 980 Ti, is priced similarly and needs a rad mount?

Statistically obesity is very closely linked with poverty in developed countries (and even in a lot of undeveloped ones). The problem is, as many have already hinted at, once again, money.

Cheap food + Culture of Self-Indulgence = Fat Fucks.

America will eat itself to death, long before it gets swallowed up by the Ruskies, or some Imaginary Communists, or those pesky Brown People from the Desert.

You are your own worst enemies. (Not that this is strictly related to just nutritional problems. Also I don't want to be hypocritical, this goes for my country too, and probably 90% of so called western 'democracies'.)

Euros aren't getting any skinnier man

I think America will be just fine, health education is starting to penetrate more thanks to the internet. These things just take time, after 30 years of super sized meals and drinking pop like water you don't just flip a switch for a nation. There's a reason companies like McDonalds keep declining, people are seeking healthier choices.
