Retailers don't get price protection from Nintendo so they strictly limit stock to avoid inventory writeoffs. The consequence is that between that and Nintendo's bullshit artificial scarcity tactics with various things you often pay absurd prices for their products even years later.

Sounds like you both missed the point of the charge and course. They didn't want the tech to launch with bad word of mouth from amateurs who didn't understand how to use it. Now that it's proven and past the point where layman can fuck its reputation easily, they feel safe to release it to everyone.

You're wasting time on the "VR SUX" crowd who just want to lampoon new tech as soon as it pops up so they can take a victory lap on a 50/50 prediction.

Yeah they really flubbed the Store in general. It's the most miserable experience I've had since trying iTunes on Windows a long time ago.

Says the clown who decried Apple and Google for years and now owns a bunch of their products

I'm an enthusiast, I disable the aspects of Windows that bother me and move on with my life. Same as I've always done with every version of Windows. In fact I've never been completely happy with any version of Windows but "uninstall Xbox app after a Windows Update once a year" is pretty low on my list of complaints.

Hope people have a plan B here because Microsoft doesn't seem interested in caving on some of these things. If it bothered me that much I would start looking to alternatives.

I like Steam, I think its pretty decent software. It's worst sin is the UI but fitting all of that functionality without some UI hodgepodge is difficult at best. I use nearly every aspect of Steam save for the video streaming.

You seem really displeased with Windows 10, why not go back to Windows 7 or just stop using Windows altogether? They're not going back on these directional changes after all.

Did anyone on here ended up getting this game?
PCgamer said it is a pretty simplistic RTS game but it isn't terrible. I don't think I will buy it at full price but might grab it on sale

Really want to like it but I think I will just wait for Dawn of War III. I've never been enthralled with the Halo setting/universe and so far the hands on impressions have been tame.

I have seen complaints against other people, including Slick. I don't mind long posts as long as there's a reason and not just waffle but that's a bit subjective. With a couple of people (like space captain) I think it's in your best interests to be concise as comprehensive answers just gives them more to misunderstand.

I don't think he misunderstands at all, he just chooses what to respond to. I agree though that being more concise is pretty key to not getting aggravated in dealing with him. I don't mind long posts either but when its just dissembling and waffle I tune it out. It gets tiresome every now and then so I (infrequently) comment on it which I think is reasonable.

Anyways while I wouldn't lose any sleep over him being banned, it seems rather pointless because he will just reregister and begin the cycle anew. Perhaps if the BBS is ever updated these things can get sorted out.

I just deleted the whole thing, I was in a bad mood all day and kept making changes to it and I decided that I just didn't want to argue anymore. So if he was trying to be nice about it, so be it.

Bygones be bygones and all that is fine with me.

Yeah I don't have time to read or respond to all of that.

You had time to read the entire thread yet not enough to read my three paragraphs? Inquisitive

It was a nice way of saying you could stand to clean up your posts a bit. I had some PMs from others in the past saying the same thing and I took it to heart in the past few years. I see others have given that feedback without any introspection being triggered so I won't bother trying to convince you further.

This is way off topic though so getting back to my original point, space captain can't really be banned so it's just a waste of time asking. He's caustic but arguably adds some value here and frankly we have worse posters. For better or for worse we're all stuck with each other. The ignore function works perfectly well, I am hesitant to use it myself but with some posters I'm definitely getting closer.

Yeah I don't have time to read or respond to all of that.

Bob, I understand the point you're trying to make but I would say that there's a difference between insulting others and simply being negative. He definitely does the former but quite often I see people being upset with the latter, frequently when its about one of their ideas or opinions.

Unfortunately the admins need to enforce the personal attack rule and SC is either able to evade their enforcement actions or whatever. So in the end ignore is really the only tool people can use there. Asking for bans is pointless, hes been banned and continues coming back.

Also, I don't see Cutter engaging in direct and unprovoked personal attacks either .. unless you have evidence to the contrary.

Uh is this supposed to be funny? Run a search for moderated posts on his username and you will have your answer.

Anyways gone for the weekend and said my piece, cheers folks.

I agree with your points. I'm not sure why some people are even putting up a fight. The person is a deliberate troll and should be banned -- reactively and proactively.

What's interesting about that Bob is that several times I have defended your right to post here even when others were saying you were a contentless troll. It wasn't that long ago that even Blue himself had exasperation with your posts.

SC is an odd duckling but sometimes says some very insightful and penetrating comments. He doesn't have much of a bullshit filter but that's ok. Sometimes people need to be called out a bit. Does he take it too far sometimes? Sure. So does Cutter, in fact I would argue Cutter is far more toxic. If we're expected to tolerate him then people like SC are small potatoes.

Arguing to ban him is pointless as either tech limitations of this ancient BBS or admin inclination indicate that no one truly stays banned here anymore. People should use ignore or just accept the fact that we're all stuck with each other.

I don't ignore anyone. It's not in my nature. Even the biggest jerks have something decent to say on occasion (well, almost). Besides, it wasn't just because I'm tired of the little jerks mouth, it's the crap he gives everyone else - constantly. I tried to be chill this morning with him, every post he makes he leaves a snide little condescending comment at the end and yet that one post this morning was almost decent, yet he went and fucked it up by making a dig at the original poster. He just couldn't help himself. There are jerks here, for sure. There are some bullheaded, selfish egotistical pricks on here too. I can handle them, for the most part. But he's just outright trolling and it's obvious. And it needs to stop. Somehow.

Blue makes those decisions ultimately and he's allowed this guy back several times. I noticed you use the word I a lot there but you need to remember this place doesn't just revolve around your needs. I see you arguing just as frequently as SC but often times you take it more seriously and it seems to escalate beyond what is necessary. In the past I had the same problem and I forced myself to take a step back and chill out a bit on here and not take it so seriously or insist on always getting the last word.

So perhaps a little rumination on your end before you start calling for bans. Before you start typing a response take a step back and relax. There are tools here to deal with trolls and ultimately if you make a conscious choice not to use them then isn't that an issue on your end?

I read a Japanese book a long time about decluttering your life, helped out a lot. I like to look at it by asking myself "All of this stuff, what would I replace if it was missing?". Most of the time it's a lot less than you think. We organize our place by needs, some physical and some mental. I need mementos of our trips to help jog my memory and give me happiness so I don't mind clutter related to that. On the other hand I don't need that old skullkid figure sitting on a bookshelf that came in my 3DS limited edition so off to Craigslist it went.

Goodwill or really any local non-profit thrift store will take everything. They usually have a drop off spot near the back.

That's nothing, go look at the clusterfuck that is the store sometime. Too many entries for everything, cortana search is a nightmare, loading wheels constantly, etc. They actually make buying things from there a total annoyance. Huge emphasis on publisher purchased content slots to the point where they take precedence over your fucking search results.

The UI is slow and annoying. No caching at all, constantly waiting for loads between fucking interface elements is beyond obnoxious. Stupid emphasis on "social" and promoted content which means your my games list lives in a narrow sliver of the screen in the upper right. Games take forever to install/play.

The Xbox fucking sucks. Every time I play at a friends place I'm glad I got a PS4 instead. The only reason I even check his out sometimes is Forza. I was looking at a list of games coming up for both consoles and it seems like a wasteland on the Microsoft side of things. Phantom Dust, State of Decay 2? Crackdown Vaporware? Yet they cancelled Scalebound somehow. Fucking ridiculous company.

This is what I'm talking about. This is not a discussion. This is a personal attack on my faith and beliefs and has nothing to do with the bible or Christianity. That's why I was saying perhaps the best path forward is for us all not to discuss religion AND politics on a video game site. You wouldn't do it at the table during Thanksgiving (or maybe you would I don't know) I only think it would be good for everyone. So say we all?!

Why should any of us give a shit about your faith? At least when we talk about football, politics and other aspects of life there is some basis in fact. Religious discussion is endless bullshit predicated on a mountain of nonsense like yours. I will attack it as I please when you continually post about it. You can't post public statements then declare them off limits. The same way people go after my political beliefs when I post them here. This is the core problem with religion right here, it's little juveniles like you that declare it to be some unassailable part of their identity yet have no issue annoying everyone else with it constantly.

You want to talk about it? No problem, this thread is a meek example of how that's going to look every time you try on here. When you really piss people off it's going to be way worse.

I don't know, I find it a bit amusing because most people (even VR proponents) suggested that VR was a niche application from the beginning but there's a bunch of naysayers doing the whole "I TOLD YOU IT SUX AND WOULD FAIL!" thing regardless. I really like my Vive but I've always told people not to buy into it right now, its just way too soon and there's nowhere near enough support. I don't think its fair to call it a failure if it can't find mass appeal in a year either. VR with clunky headsets is a first gen thing, eventually the tech is going to keep boiling down to smaller glasses and/or AR integration.

Facebook was desperately looking for the next social expansion which explains their interest.
