Credit where it's due, they're smart. The only way to get to play an updated version of the best COD is to buy the latest one...

Actually you have to buy the more expensive "deluxe" $80 edition to get it.

grey market key sites have it for around $52

My point was that you can't buy it by itself. No "actually" involved.

What a shame. A death star map in the original release would have gone a long way to adding the variety it needed.

Or any space combat at all. It's pretty sad when THE LEGO star wars game has more space combat than battlefront.

David Bowie art collection revealed for the first time.

Charlie Clouser (nin, and does a lot of movie/tv scores) wrote an obit about Bowie and his painting that was really sweet. Basically, as a goodbye gift at the end of the tour, he painted a picture for each person in the nin touring camp (Charlie's appeared to be his decapitated head).

Yeah, it fucking sucked. Goes in the "never happened" sequel bin.

They chose to release the game 3 days before the movie. Just because they're not related in story doesn't mean it's not a cash in.

Smells like a full-fledged console port.
Wait for a Steam sale.

Never mind that, it's a movie cash in game with little to no publicity before release. That's the kiss of death right there...

Warner paid PewDiePie and other YouTubers to praise Shadow of Mordor.

This thing that was so stupid about this (and Warner not allowing reviews unless they could approve them beforehand) was they had a fantastic game on their hands. There was no need for any of this bullshit, except someone in the company apparently didn't have any faith in the product.

THAT. WAS. MY. FUCKING. POINT.

If you haven't played the original, then you're completely unaware that Metroidvania elements have been part of the series from the beginning. And if you're that uninformed, I'm guessing that you haven't played Metroid or Castlevania either, so you probably don't know what that means. So do us all a favor and let those of us who actually know more about the series than what you gleaned from 5 minutes of YouTube do the talking, mmmkay?

No need to be a jerk about it.

Ummm... with endless backtracking by elevator?

I was talking about SS2 here, you might have overlooked. I never played the original SS, but I remember having to go through several maps just to change elevators in SS2 which really was stupid level design...

I just finished a replay a few weeks ago, and yeah, it was maddening bythe end. The main elevator was floors 1-4, but then if you wanted to go to 5, it was a separate shaft.

The game has not aged well, especially it's xen like level at the end...

I'm not sure, but think they are using the Unity Engine. It's become so popular, due to it's great balance of price and performance, with most Kickstarters. I really wish Unreal Engine had got out in front of with this need from independent developers. Epic would have stood to gain from helping crush the big publishers, who constantly mislead and mismanage, these game IPs.

The demo is unity, but they've said they're open to using other engines for the project. From update 3:

Engine - Our pre-alpha demo is in Unity, and that is the technology the team has been using for the past several months. However, we are familiar with other engines and are open to exploring options that make sense. Changing engines during a project is a pretty big risk and not a choice to be taken lightly. At the end of the day, we will use the technology we feel is best suited to deliver the highest quality game with the resources we have.

Tried it out a bit last night on XBox One. It looks and plays great, possibly even a bit better than on the 360, since the XBone has v-sync always enabled.

It does in fact run better.

And just think...it's running on x86 now...
