I'll never understand polygon. I guess it's that my interests never intersect with theirs.

While flawed and I totally get (and agree with) the criticism, NMS is actually pretty decent and interesting, for what it is. I also agree with the very common point brought up - this isn't a 60 dollar game. 30 at release, dropping to 20 very soon after would make it something much easier to swallow.

Still, I find myself wanting to go back and lose myself in the worlds again. It's weirdly addicting and soothing.

I'm having a blast. I was worried there wouldn't be enough to do, but I love the explore/upgrade process...I played for 4 hours straight yesterday, and I can't tell you the last time I did that with a game. The time just flies...

Hey, question. I know 48 is the max ExoSuit slots. If I come across drop pods will can I keep buying slots?

Well, they get more expensive. And eventually, on a given planet, it stopped showing me droppods and instead listed other shelter. So I guess there's only so many you can get per planet?

Also read that (at least at current patch, this could be adjusted at any time) - those chips you use to power the orange beams (I forget the names)? You'll make more money selling those chips than selling the two resources it takes to craft them. So for right now, that's another money maker...

I've seen some 2.5 million credit ships with 25+ slots I'd like to own.

Bloodlines sucked the life out of original developer Troika

Oh, Blue...

edit: And Obsidian having it would be fucking awesome...

I've not left the first system, either. I'm sure I've overdone it, but it's fun, so...

Use the orange beams on planets to "locate shelter". I got 3 suit upgrades for space on my first planet alone.

Thanks, nin. That's most helpful. I've been wasting that beam on Monoliths as I would like to learn the alien language. I guess having more inventory slots is slightly more important.

More inventory = more chips = more monoliths, suit space, etc...the first one is free, and then I believe they go up by 10K a pop, as my last one was like 30K.

Also passed 50 known words tonight, which was a cool achievement.

Came across a flying thing that I swear to god looked like pikachu (however you spell him) with wings. I named him "FlyingNintendoCopyright" and the game was fine with that.

Taking a break after a 4 hour session. Found this awesome ship with a shitload of guns on it crashed on a planet. Then I found this huge spaceport where one of the guys from Daft Punk asked me how smart my race was...

I get if you don't like to explore, you won't like this game. But if the idea of what's over the next hill or what's on the next planet excites you, it's a blast. I explore planets, I name some ferret looking thing a Space Weasel, I meet weird aliens, I learn their language, I make shitloads of money, then I take the the stars and head to the next destination...

That's what I'm getting out of it. I'm still on my second planet searching for more inventory slots.

I managed to jump about 10 times now without additional inventory slots. Eventually, when you get the AtlasPass you can stop at space stations and buy inventory slots... it kind of sucks that they use inventory as sort of main mid-game obje
ctive.

Ship wise, I just trade up ships.

Cool story bro. Guess I'mm called out for complaining for no reason. BTW, where are you? Isn't it Europe? The Netherlands? I can't keep anything straight.

Anyway, the only place I can find on NOAA worse than here is Washington DC. Here's a sampling of the US weather right now:

Here: 94F - Humidity 52% - Heat Index 104F (40C)

Death Valley, CA: 103F - Humidity 7% - Heat Index 97F (36C)
Phoenix, AZ: 97F - Humidity 33% - Heat Index 99F (37C)
Las Vegas, NV: 97F - Humidity 11% - Heat Index 92F (33C)
Atlanta, GA: 86F - Humidity 57% - Heat Index 90F (32C)
Los Angeles, CA: 77F - Humidity 64% - Heat Index 79F (26C)
Miami, FL: 88F - Humidity 66% - Heat Index 98F (37C)
Oklahoma City, OK: 86F - Humidity 49% - Heat Index 88F (31C)
San Antonio, TX: 76F - Humidity 91% - Heat Index 76F (24C)

What's that they say? It's not the heat, it's the humidity? Actually it's the heat *and* the humidity.

He's in shitty assed Tulsa, along with me! Well, the burbs...we're actually supposed t have a week of high 80s, low 90s, with the storm from the south coming up.

Reporting from planet Space Oddity in the Bowie system: ( )

I'm having a pretty good time with it, so far. First game in awhile where time just seems to fly - each of the last two nights I've only had an hour to play, and it seems to go by in minutes.

If you believe you are stuck, or cant reach your ship, be aware you can jetpack forever whilst pushing against any surface

That's handy, didn't know that...there were more than a few spots I didn't jump into, for fear I wouldn't get back out...

Why exactly does it require 10gigs more of HDD space and 8gigs more of RAM under Windows 10?

The minimum is 8 gig, 16 is recommended. 45 gig is the base install, 55 includes DLC.

Soo... for people who already bought the game and expansion packs, do we get whatever patches come in the GotY version, or do we need to buy something(either the full GotY, or a step-up)?

I was just about to start Witcher 3, but got sidetracked by XCOM 2. Guess I'll wait a bit longer.

You shouldn't have to buy anything. As long as you're up to date on patches, got both expansions, and the free pieces of DLC (17 or so) you have the GOTY edition early. A patch released around the time of Blood and Wine revamped the UI.
