I don’t get it. Survival game with what appears to be building & crafting but there is a timer and the world resets when you leave for the space station or does it move to a different map or something else?
Strange idea, I may like it but I know several people who will go nuts over their perfect build having a timer until they must move on.

Yes and People didn’t understand licensing at the time. Ruin a rental tape and it was $80-$150ish to replace when that same tape was on sale at Walmart or Sears for $25.
Difference was one license allowed rentals the other was for personal use.

I remember when this was announced I was pretty excited until I watched the video. Crappy kind of cartoon look, felt like a PlayStation or Xbox low cost download.
Also I remember how the C&C shooter was kind of fun but the lack of any good feel to the shooting and frankly lack of anything that was fun for more than one or two plays.

I agree, lost most interest after BF3 which was okay but sort of small maps made it kind of boring.
Zero interest in anything past BF3.
Just go back to big maps, multiple vehicles on each map and allow the fun chaos that ensues.
Sadly I predict small maps with tons of choke points where nearly all the fighting will happen yet again.

How can you make a game like this and leave out multiplayer?
....and yeah their other tbd games look “interesting”

Edit: This is how, from Games Incubator website

Games Incubator sp. z o.o. (LLC) is a producer and publisher of games for PC, consoles, and mobile devices. We specialize in middle- and low-budget games, which we create with the help of internal and cooperating developer teams.

You realize this is a "free" beta, not a "free" game right?

Is it really that hard to understand or read an email that backer+ receive or simply look at the website or read any of the other communications to understand that everyone who has already purchased SC gets both items included and people who buy after 2/14 need to buy them separately. Come on guys its not that hard to understand.

queue the haters

Honestly I don't understand why there are two camps. One Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen. Makes no damn sense doesn't the PC gaming master race deserve two space combat games?

Yup AOC almost was a good game my main complaints were:

Small maps/zones
easy mode travel, no effort to get anywhere in the game world
no death penalty. This was a big one, I remember fighting some Pirates to finish a quest and I realized that death only meant a 1 minute delay to re-spawn and I could simply charge in again and kill one of 16 Pirates, then die and spawn in to kill one of 15 Pirate and so on.
Funcom also talked about having silly mini games in it like drunken brawling and ax throwing(?) maybe a gambling game (I can't remember for sure). Game gets released and none of that is in the game and I'd bet to this day its never been added.

Heads up another poorly planned craptastic Funcom MMO of the moment on the way. I personally am sick & tired of making excuses for Funcom, their stuff can become good but its almost always crap when its released.

Honestly I'm happy with this decision. SC looks like its going to be a premier PC game and what machines will be running DX10 with less than 8GB in two years? I look forward to a game that needs a new graphics card to play.

The issue in a nut shell is the company making the game had a similar donation set up to make Mech Warrior Online, which turned out to be substantially different than what it was originally described to be. This game appeared to be a rip off of star citizen thus people were concerned about what to expect.

Didn't anyone else notice the for PC, mac and tablets and phones. How on earth is anything made to run on a tablet or phone going to be deep?

A tablet or phone is just a device. Touchscreen interfaces are pretty limited, sure, but they work fine for specific genres. Fallout 1 and 2, for example, would work fine on a tablet since the mouse-based UI and gameplay translates well to touch-based.

how about them having small screens, limited memory and processors? I know they've gotten stronger but its nowhere near a desktop processor.

I feel like you're confusing "depth" with "pretty graphics." A deep game doesn't need to look good. Gameplay has nothing to do with presentation. The original X-COM looks like crap but has tons of depth. I'm pretty sure any modern phone or tablet could run X-COM just fine.

I explained it poorly the point was, please name a game that is made for tablets or smart phones that is "deep". That market simply wants quick simple games. When I hear a game is being developed to work on desktops and smart phones I generally assume its going to smart phone style of quick and easy but not too much to hold my attention.

Kill it, this is the worst piece of crap game. Even the premise makes no sense. Cops need to bring money as evidence back to base, assault cars and copters that have mini guns on them, a city that has no civilians in it at all.
