Half-Life isn't even a great series. I never understood the hype around it then and certainly not now...

I heard they're not doing early screenings. That doesn't bode well.

Either that or they're really going to milk the hype right until it hits theatres.

It's built on the SC2 engine so they're going to have their hands full for a while, if not the lifetime of the game. I guess that's the price you pay when you re-use an existing engine which is Swiss cheese when it comes to security out of convenience over building something with more robust security and software features.

Then again, security is only as good as the one providing it and Blizzard isn't exactly Judge Dredd when it comes to hackers.

I'm in the beeta atm and it's hella fun. Don't know what it means for replayability and longevity, but the initial wow factor is great. Great visuals, teamwork is required to survive and it's wicked when you get a good PUG. I'm pleasantly surprised...for day one.

From my understanding, the loot grind will be their ace in the hole as far as longevity is concerned. It seems like a pretty legit system from what Total Biscuit described.

With the amount of blind worship and denial, it's only a matter of time before a religion is formed around CIG with CR as their Pope.

Water existing on Mars is extremely important, but not in the "there might be life" sense of things. If it's already there and can be extracted from the soil then they won't need to haul tons of water to Mars to establish a colony. One of the largest obstacles to establishing a Mars colony will be getting all of the necessary materials there to support life. Now one of those materials is already on Mars.

It will be interesting to see if they can locate any actual useable liquid on the surface. Something tells me it there will be lots of mining/melting to do to put the water to any good use.

It's probably safer to drink than the water in Mexico though.

End game was awful but the grind until level cap is probably one of the best in MMOs.

If I were to use my own server as an example of the state of Guilds, I tend to agree with the article. Most or our Horde guilds broke apart in Warlords and then those players essentially moved to form a 'mega guild' of sorts which has all styles of play including the best Horde progression group on the server during Pandaria. Back then, we had more than ten Horde progression guilds but now it's down to three, four tops and it seems this is a common theme on the official and mmo-c forums.

Blizzard has absolutely made this game less dependent on guilds though. The only content you cannot do (which I think will be changed in Legion) is Mythic raiding and that's only if you're using the LFG tool; everything else is on table in one way or another.
