I wish they'd decide whether they want this to be an arcade shooter or something with a little more realism to drive the whole "WW1 was brutally cruel" aspect because nothing sucks you out of the horrors of war more than health regen, nerf guns and vehicles (especially horses) built out of adamantium.

At least give an optional hardcore mode like the one in BFBC2 or something otherwise I just can't really see myself getting back in to it.

Why would you pay for insurance on them? Use Paypal. If the key is invalid they'll refund your money and it's G2A's problem. Most they can do is ban your account. Big whoop. Just make another.

To be fair I don't when it comes to deep discount games. I bought Wolfenstein The Old Blood for $9 and figured why the hell would I pay almost half of that for insurance. Good idea on the Paypal approach though.

G2A, where the keys are screened and legit but here's a continuously rising insurance on them or fuck you.

There's a pretty massive sale on the 40k Horus Heresy audio books and goodies at humble bundle which I may dive in to.

I don't play the game but I can appreciate all the salty Kripparian compilations which spawn from the game on a very consistent basis.

DDR5 is on the horizon but I doubt it'll even make an appearance in the consumer market for some time. 2019 for Icelake could be possible along with the AM4+ refinement but by then I suspect RAM will cost a thousand dollars given its recent leap in price with little slowing down.

Never really got in to the first. Something about it didn't feel right when compared to, say, Medieval.

The biggest fault against DayZ is that it was built on a shitty shit engine and had awful multiplayer infrastructure. I wouldn't care if it was in EA all this time if it actually played well but you fire it up and there's as much buggy, poorly-optimized bullshit now as there was years ago.

He probably cashed out because he knew it could never be fixed and there was no point in hanging around with that noose around his neck.

They barely even try to hide their bullshit anymore, yet these people still fall for it every time, and they're too ignorant to realize they should be ashamed of themselves.

Politics has evolved in to a sport where it's one team versus another and we all know how invested folks can get when it comes to their team. I'd liken it to the rivalry between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens fans.

"You're going to hate something we're doing, then."

This should be the Gearbox motto. I'm more or less convinced that they got very, very, very lucky with Borderlands.

There's already an ad-free streaming service for AMC; it's called everything else.

I have AMC but refuse to watch it because they go waaaaaay overboard with commercials especially when it comes to padding out the runtime to their original series.

I might even drop in a 1500X instead of the hex-core. Then again, it's only like 20 tacos away from the 1600 and sometimes you just have to spoil yourself. spoil yourself. spoil yourself.

see if Intel changes its 4c/8t is "all you need" for mainstream policy for Cannonlake, which is doubtfull since it has already been pretty far in development by now.

From what I understand, Intel's "ace in the hole" for Coffee Lake will be "mainstream" 14nm six-core processors and something like a 15% bump in performance over Kaby Lake but that won't even happen until early next year for desktop users and will likely come on a new socket which would mean that 1151 is, for all intents and purposes, a dead-end socket and 7700K is your last, best option if such is the case.

That pretty much gives AMD almost a year to fine tune their product without much of an answer from Intel in the desktop market since Cannonlake will be reserved for Notebooks and handheld devices due to low 10nm yields. Their focus is to bring their 10nm processors to the low-power market and continue to mature their 14nm processors for the performance market.

unity is fucking garbage

No it's not. It's just better suited for other kinds of games than this. I'm in on the EA of the game Ghost of a Tale. It's a Unity game and it's gorgeous - great game too so everyone should support it!

Unity gets a bad wrap because it's the lowest bar of entry for shitty Steam Greenlight games where all you need to do is buy assets, flip them, and all the sudden can pat yourself on the back thinking you're a game developer. I'm fairly certain it had awful multi-threading support (or none at all?) until the Unity 5 update from last year too.

Unity done right is a far cry from what we see in most cases but Unreal Engine seems like a much better "catch all" when it comes to features, fidelity, and scaling with some exceptions like Deathwing.

System Shock 2 looks pretty decent these days when modded. Here are some shots:

But yes, this Unreal engine remake of SS1 is looking really nice. I hope they can pull it off.

That looks pretty clean but I almost want to say it looks too clean. Then again, it's a modded game from nearly 20 years ago so color me impressed that it even runs on a modern OS let alone looks like this.
