Do you have a point? It seems you're desperately trying to find stupid spending to blame on "the libs," rather than anything else. You're flailing. Which isn't surprising, how many times has anyone here tried to get you to actually defend something rather than going "but but but?"

everyone knows liberals are responsible for the unsustainable and massive deficit-inducing tax cuts, and enormous military budget hike that the conservative congress and republican president recently spearheaded.

owned, libtard.

Never watched the show but I am always interested in an MMO shooter, hopefully they can do better with this re-release.

was there ever anything filling that niche besides this and, like, tabula rasa?

i always meant to give this a try but i was still really loving the secret world at the time.

i'm kind of surprised to hear the tie-in show was good; the last syfy channel video game production i remember watching was the red faction guerrilla tie in which was.. uh.. well, it was..

4. TV Ratings: Winter Olympics Hit Back-to-Back Lows in Final Days Feb 25, 2018, 15:30 Nucas

i'd attribute this more to the last two days being nothing but bobsledding and curling, and endless documentaries about shit that happened at olympics from like 40 years ago. the one thing i wanted to watch, the figure skating gala (don't judge me) nbc only played 10 minutes of.

i guess what i'm saying here is fuck nbc. oh well! at least they only have exclusive broadcast rights until 2036.

most of the entries were dudes. but, yes, this kind of shit is genuinely embarrassing and i'm glad the grown-ups are able to engage with this kind of commentary without feeling threatened; but probably nobody is expecting that from you.

call of duty (up through modern warfare 2 anyway) was so awesome because it brought the tropes of movie setpiece action into a game and made the player the star. recycling it back into a movie is some kind of weird ouroboros of suck.

It's even on sale http://store.steampowered.com/app/362890/Black_Mesa/
And it might even get xen this year (wink)

The Hot Deals thread in the hardforum occasionally gets links for a batch of decently priced ("for the times") gpu's.
https://hardforum.com/forums/h-ot-deals.28/

If you're a wheeler and dealer you can find deals on pre-built gaming computers that have the the gpu you want and then part out the rest. But doing all of that just sounds like a hassle.
i really enjoyed black mesa, but i haven't played half life 1 in about 10 years and sometimes you just want the crisp refreshing taste of Valve Classic. something about this time of year (and i guess also the extended absence from games?) makes me nostalgic for the classics. i cannot wait to boot up this fire breathing processor and install half life, icewind dale and quake 2.

i'll have to add the hard forums to my daily rounds (for the first time since like 2001), thanks.

if whatever card you replaced is half decent, you might want to look up its current going price. odds are decent some idiot will pay double its value because they think they're going to retire cashing in ON THE NEWEST CRAZE! DON'T GET LEFT BEHIND!! MELISSA MADE 170 DOLLARS IN 12 MINUTES MINING BITCOINS!

i finally pulled the trigger on the hardware for a system rebuild on my game machine after going without for about half a year, i7-8700k and related accouterments. i was really hoping buttcoins would keep tumbling, video card prices were creeping back to sane for about 2 or 3 days there when the price was at 6000 (1060 6gbs were going for 320 NIB on ebay, now they're back up to like 500 bucks.) guess i'm going to have to keep making do with my GTX 770.

i guess it doesn't matter, the game i'm really jonesing to fire up is half-life 1.

not sure if i can blame ram prices on the fucking brain-damaged crypto jackasses or just out and out collusion between the manufacturers (but it's the invisible hand of the free market! so it's ok), or both, but 16gb of DDR4 was like 2/3s the cost of the fucking processor. in 20 years i've literally never seen a worse time to build a pc. unless you literally do not have a choice, don't.

It wasnt the crew starting the fights. It was a massive family of muslims looking for any excuse to pick fights with the other people enjoying a cruise. They were directly targeting Australians and picking fights for days before the security finally intervened.

the family was from Melbourne; they are Australian. where are you getting the Muslim thing from?

TLDR
Note: Btw, I know some of you start foaming at the mouth when faced with a wall of text but I'm not apologizing for it. No one is forcing you to read it. I'm not responding to any complaints about post length at all - ever. There's nothing wrong with it and if it bothers you, well, then maybe go to Youtube or Twitch for the shiny things that keep your attention, snowflake.

This was my takeaway.

-+-=-RedEye=-_=+

Oh stop, you probably read more in a single day than I do in a fucking week! Why don't you just admit already that you secretly adore my long posts and always have? See, it took me a little while but I'm on to you. They say that your harshest critics are always your biggest admirers. You're not someone that would waste time on something you don't care about...

=-Rigs-=

you know that guy in high in school who went around telling everyone he didn't care what they thought, but it seemed like he cared a little too much?

that is the stink clinging to your manifesto with it's incredible "if you didn't like this, you're the snowflake! i totally don't care because i said so!" postscript.

do you knowingly resort to hysterics, or do you just make shit up because you think no one will pull you on it

Hmm, I guess it is only natural to doubt him. The story I read indicated he found a 30 page outline in a safety deposit box. Either way, whether it was based on an outline from Frank H. or not, I have to disagree with your assessment. I thought Hunters of Dune and Sandworms of Dune fit very nicely with Heretics of Dune and Chapterhouse: Dune. I also thought the prequel trilogy was well done. The House series less so, the character series I haven't read.

the kindest thing i can say for brian herbert's works are that they made the world of dune a much smaller place. frank's books often blazed trails into new, wild ideas. brian's just rehashed all the familiar notes with all the panache of fanfiction.

Wow, seven years since A Dance with Dragons. I hadn't realized it had been quite that long. Yeah, he isn't going to finish before dying. I suspect the best we can hope for is he has done a detailed outline of the story so someone can complete it after his death -- as Herbert's kid did for the end of the Dune series.

a better example would be robert jordan's wheel of time; he was diagnosed with his illness in time to prepare an outline, notes, and write the ending personally. herbert's kid claims he found a text file with an outline of the last book on his dad's computer after he died. his output is also genuinely wretched.

either way, it won't happen. martin has said before he won't let anyone finish his books.

i'd love to pick up the books but i don't start unfinished series anymore, so i guess i never will because he's not going to finish it. not just because of his age and health, but he just doesn't seem interested in writing the series anymore.

i was just digging around for my PSU box this morning and came across my first graphics card, a Voodoo Banshee from Diamond. this article scratched just the right nostalgia/curiousity itch. by the time i was ready to upgrade again, 3dfx was already on the downward spiral. it was my first and last card from them.
