i'm looking forward to booting this up when i get my new video card slotted in tomorrow. instagib rules, and everyone has been clamoring for 1999 mode since beta.

I would rather have them reboot single-player Quake like they successfully rebooted Doom.

i'd like this too, but when i think about it, i really don't know why? doom did everything a quake reboot would do in terms of action, use of vertical space, and so on. i guess just without the confused techno-fantasy-gothic aesthetic? in the meantime, hopefully Amid Evil is good, and Witchfire looks pretty cool albeit probably years away.

the willingness to hack and slash away at the first amendment in the absolute, devotional defense of the second amendment is kind of disturbing.

The response was not translated correctly from Japanese. I've corrected it:

Hi everyone, thank you for the feedback you've shared so far regarding beta testing CHRONO TRIGGER.

ahh, but that would imply an intent to later correct the errors. other acclaimed rpgs like FF6 were shit onto the pc without any fixes, before. even a high profile release like nier automata continues to languish without any patches. the pc is just a passive income source.

News Comments > Secret World Legends Patch Issues; No Limits Weekend
5. Re: Secret World Legends Patch Issues; No Limits Weekend Mar 3, 2018, 00:15 Nucas

i don't recall much of the game's pre-f2p gameplay aside from finding it to be conventional MMO fare.

what really made the game shine for me were its writing, setting, characters, quest design, and world building. one of my first quests in the game was to unravel a mystery in an Innsmouth style h.p. lovecraft town in new england. after receiving the quest.. no marker appeared. it required exploring on my own, looking for signs in the world, reading books. there was no mini-map, no waypoints. it was excellent, and so unlike the MMOs it was aping with its combat and loot system, and the game is full of this kind of content. art direction and environment design is also first rate. the areas you can visit are weird, nuanced and intriguing, and fun to look at.

if you like narrative driven games and enjoy mmo conventions, this could really be a perfect storm for you. for me, i just felt like the mmo was getting in the way of the game i wanted to play, but i haven't played it since their relaunch which reputedly revamped combat and so on.

i keep trying to get back into this game but god damn i wish it was just a single player title sometimes. i've heard the F2P switch has made it easier to play solo for story content recently, i should really give it another shot.

this is an unfortunate perfect storm; a bunch of gun industry shills in congress flailing about for distractions, and a fucking moron in the oval office. i admittedly don't really consume mainstream media of any sort so i don't know, but hopefully this narrative isn't gaining steam.

Do you have a point? It seems you're desperately trying to find stupid spending to blame on "the libs," rather than anything else. You're flailing. Which isn't surprising, how many times has anyone here tried to get you to actually defend something rather than going "but but but?"

everyone knows liberals are responsible for the unsustainable and massive deficit-inducing tax cuts, and enormous military budget hike that the conservative congress and republican president recently spearheaded.

owned, libtard.

i always meant to give this a try but i was still really loving the secret world at the time.

i'm kind of surprised to hear the tie-in show was good; the last syfy channel video game production i remember watching was the red faction guerrilla tie in which was.. uh.. well, it was..

4. TV Ratings: Winter Olympics Hit Back-to-Back Lows in Final Days Feb 25, 2018, 15:30 Nucas

i'd attribute this more to the last two days being nothing but bobsledding and curling, and endless documentaries about shit that happened at olympics from like 40 years ago. the one thing i wanted to watch, the figure skating gala (don't judge me) nbc only played 10 minutes of.

i guess what i'm saying here is fuck nbc. oh well! at least they only have exclusive broadcast rights until 2036.

call of duty (up through modern warfare 2 anyway) was so awesome because it brought the tropes of movie setpiece action into a game and made the player the star. recycling it back into a movie is some kind of weird ouroboros of suck.

It's even on sale http://store.steampowered.com/app/362890/Black_Mesa/
And it might even get xen this year (wink)

The Hot Deals thread in the hardforum occasionally gets links for a batch of decently priced ("for the times") gpu's.
https://hardforum.com/forums/h-ot-deals.28/

If you're a wheeler and dealer you can find deals on pre-built gaming computers that have the the gpu you want and then part out the rest. But doing all of that just sounds like a hassle.
i really enjoyed black mesa, but i haven't played half life 1 in about 10 years and sometimes you just want the crisp refreshing taste of Valve Classic. something about this time of year (and i guess also the extended absence from games?) makes me nostalgic for the classics. i cannot wait to boot up this fire breathing processor and install half life, icewind dale and quake 2.

i'll have to add the hard forums to my daily rounds (for the first time since like 2001), thanks.

I built my new PC like 2-3 months ago and got the EVGA 1060 6GB for like $270. Had no idea how lucky I was.

if whatever card you replaced is half decent, you might want to look up its current going price. odds are decent some idiot will pay double its value because they think they're going to retire cashing in ON THE NEWEST CRAZE! DON'T GET LEFT BEHIND!! MELISSA MADE 170 DOLLARS IN 12 MINUTES MINING BITCOINS!

i finally pulled the trigger on the hardware for a system rebuild on my game machine after going without for about half a year, i7-8700k and related accouterments. i was really hoping buttcoins would keep tumbling, video card prices were creeping back to sane for about 2 or 3 days there when the price was at 6000 (1060 6gbs were going for 320 NIB on ebay, now they're back up to like 500 bucks.) guess i'm going to have to keep making do with my GTX 770.

i guess it doesn't matter, the game i'm really jonesing to fire up is half-life 1.

not sure if i can blame ram prices on the fucking brain-damaged crypto jackasses or just out and out collusion between the manufacturers (but it's the invisible hand of the free market! so it's ok), or both, but 16gb of DDR4 was like 2/3s the cost of the fucking processor. in 20 years i've literally never seen a worse time to build a pc. unless you literally do not have a choice, don't.

It wasnt the crew starting the fights. It was a massive family of muslims looking for any excuse to pick fights with the other people enjoying a cruise. They were directly targeting Australians and picking fights for days before the security finally intervened.

the family was from Melbourne; they are Australian. where are you getting the Muslim thing from?
