Infamous - Prototype trounced it handily. Get Prototype-PS3 instead.

You and I both know inFAMOUS destroyed Prototype in sales on the PS3, and it beat it in reviews. Why continue to bother with this 4 month Prototype campaign? They are different games anyways and the titles I was talking about are all PS3 exclusives...

Disgaea 3 is a very good game for people who like it as it practically never ends. The worlds/puzzles are randomly generated and you can play it forever. It's not for everyone, but for those who spend time learning it, and find they like it, will put it in their all time favorite games lists. Is a shame it has some crappy ps2 graphics on the characters.

I love Sins, but I am waiting for all the mini additions to be complete, and will buy the "platinum edition" at retail.

I am playing it on the PS3 on the uber hard level. It's easier than World at War hard level. So far I like the game. It reminds me of Medal of Honor: Airborne in the way that it plays (minus the peek around corners and over cover aspects). Toss in some magical spells like seeing in the dark in to another dimension, or even slowing down time, and you get a different than average shooter experience. It's been done before but the environments look really good and I am enjoying it.

The lay out is hub based world, with mission maps you can depart to and then return to the hub. The hub is occasionally repopulated with enemies as well. It's an interesting set up and I like it.

I can't speak of multiplayer, I tend to play single player stuff now days.

I am happy with my purchase as the game incorporates the adventure aspects quite well. Fairly upgradable weapons keep it interesting.

I am hoping when they roll out the PS2 software emulator, that they are wise enough to enable use for disc based games.

I would be pretty interested in DK if done right. It's the only thing I would want to revisit from Bullfrog other than Magic Carpet 1. Syndicate doesn't do it for me anymore.

Sony announced $299 PS3 price tag yesterday... You can buy them now for $100 less. The Slim will be out by Sep 1.

Uncharted, Uncharted 2, inFAMOUS, Pixeljunk Monsters, Killzone 2, Heavenly Sword, God of War 3, Super Stardust HD, High Stakes Poker, Savage Moon, Comet Crash, Motorstorm 1, Motorstorm 2, Disgaea 3, Warhawk, Military Madness, Eye of Judgement, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank, Valkyria Chronicles, Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Demon's Souls, FF13, Resistance 1, and Resistance 2.

There are more coming out the lists are too long. Just do some research, there are plenty of games.

Folklore is nice for those who are tolerant of something really different. Cross Edge is an ok turn based RPG. It could have been a lot better. There's a lot more out there, just need to look.

LBP is good if you like platformers with a lot of home grown feel to it.

I like the fact PS3 has 4 tower defense games with occasional expansions too.

My top 6 exclusives based on pure gameplay - inFAMOUS, Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted, Pixeljunk Monsters, Super Stardust HD, Eye of Judgement. Can put LBP in if you like platformers. Killzone 2 is good, especially as a tech demo.

The games media is becoming more and more untrustworthy, inscrutable. This isn't the only recent story I've heard of games media completely fucking up a quote or meaning and then passing it around as fact.

I don't consider most of the glorified fan sites as "media". The fan sites that keep trying to pass themselves off as "news" sites to me are nothing more than a voluntary extended arm of games marketing. Many are game publisher fronts as well... Circus tents pitched back when the goal of the industry was to get some sort of control of public opinion, and a goal that is still being pursued. Any negative report or mistake is often a publicity stunt, intentional or not. Good journalism has been dying a slow and tragic death for some time. There are a few points of light still out there, but for the most part, we have devolved (this includes big league news organizations as well).

I have 2 Xbox and 2 PS3 (Initial launch 60gig).

I have personally had to return 3 Xbox systems. My brother has returned 2 Xbox systems. My son's friends have returned 3+ systems and my oldest just came home for a bit yesterday and told me the Xbox they have at the dorm just started eating game disks (circular scratch).

I have never had to return or "fix" my PS3s over 3 years. I am glad that if there is a problem with either of them, that I have the option to fix them myself (good luck doing that on an Xbox).

That said, PS3 has far better performance and titles to choose from now days, especially with a 500+ gig hard drive installed (try doing that on an Xbox).

I also think you should cut all Xbox sales to date in half, because people who stick with Xbox tend to buy a new arcade machine and slap their old hard drive in. The days of every sale of an Xbox equaling a potential software sale were over a long time ago... For the PS3, that's just the opposite, every new console most likely means a new potential software sale, and companies like EA know it.

Madden 10 is getting a warm reception in my critical house. We are liking it more than NCAA. The "buy cheats and features that should be standard" DLC approach is stupid, and will hopefully die swiftly.

Zen Pinball is a good game, however some of the tables emulate profitable pinball design, instead of tables that are skilled player friendly. A strange design decision. Here's hoping the SF2 table will be designed to be played, instead of watching balls drain...

I could never get in to enjoying Dirt. It seemed like a wheel required for a sim experience type game. I am passing on 2.

The original Magic Carpet should do real well with a modern revamp (the sequel kind of sucked). Out of all that I want a really evolved Dungeon Keeper.

It's been almost 8 months since I seriously gamed on the computer and am not buying anything for the PC until the Blizzard stuff. I may even pass on that if Blizzard installs anything beyond an internet reg as DRM. I am betting there will be a console version of Diablo 3...

I'm keeping the Bioware faith until they drop the ball on a game, I won't worry over risk until they do. However, Alistair seems pretty uninteresting and I get the feeling there are going to be more than a few bad dialog moments...

Used game sales exist because there is an unplugged hole in the retail plan of games marketing. If there is a demand and money to be made, expect it to be fulfilled, regardless if it's Gamestop or someone else. I think what Best Buy is doing is the right approach to some extent. I do not think digital only will fly 100% in the next decade or even 20 years. There are too many of us gamers set in our ways. So work on patching the retail hole in a win/win way which is what BB is attempting.

I, like Icewind, want new games, and at a fair price. I dislike having to preorder list price on everything for the volume I buy. The way I buy now is if the game offers some nice in game preorder bonuses, I will preorder. If not, then I let it roll back on price and get it from Amazon. Read: Give 60 buck payers more value or expect us to price shop.

Two thirds of the game is really good fun. The circular levels should have never seen the light of day, and totally bring down the quality of game.

PSN has had a few ads interlaced with the normal content and so far it hasn't been that big of a deal. I drew the line at the Wipeout shenanigans. The up side of ads are that users get free stuff. Take for example Sprint giving all PSN members a free game (Rag Doll Kung Fu).

According to some internet posts, Xbox is apparently going farther than all of this and changing their OS to allow for commercials to be aired while being connected to Xbox Live. Glad I don't use Xbox excepts for the rare exclusives, and never online.

Exactly. If Carmack didn't want a fuss then he shouldn't have revealed that the PS3 is seriously underperforming the X360 at the moment. I mean, we're not talking about a few fps - which would actually be enough to rile up the fanbois - but about the PS3 managing less than half the framerate.

In my opinion all of this wasn't about hardware under performing, those were statements about developers under performing. "Awe, we have to count with the PS3!" I can see how you got confused. Any moron who thinks the Xbox is better hardware than the PS3 is truly misled, and I have nothing but sympathy for them. Xbox peak 60 fps is junk. First time it hits any real load it chugs to a crawl. PS3 runs at what the human eye is capable of and maintains it's framerate better because it can actually do the physics at speeds the eye can see. But hey you guys go on living in the 90's and keep on pretending it's all about graphics cards and framerates because a graphics card industry brainwashed your stupid asses for decades.

The only reason Xbox has any kind of hangers on is that they made friends on Xbox Live before Sony had any network, and was a year late to the market, and people don't want to leave their achievements. You poor bastards should just bite the bullet like I and many others did and get over it early so you enjoy it longer. More and more are getting over it every day and switching. That's my guess why Xbox is accellerating games on demand to combat loss and try and seal in who they have before PS3 steals them back.
