The primary antagonist is a "Big Sister", so that seems to follow on from the teaser trailer. In this vid you only see her in a suit of armour.

Ok so we have a big sister in the armor. Gotcha. It was so tiny it looked like a souped up little sister although they did call it "Big Sister".

In this teaser trailer you play the prototype Big Daddy but after the fall of Rapture in the first game. The vid + commentary explains that quite plainly.

So more of the same. Not a bad thing just want to know what to expect. Legend of Kyrandia 3 had fing laugh tracks. I don't take any sequal at face value!

As for escort missions, this vid shows that you carry Little Sisters on your back and only have to guard them whilst harvesting Adam. They don't move around, they just stay still in the same place so to me this looks more like defending a single point than escort missions

Which means this is the same as the last mission prior to fighting the boss fight (Fontaine). The only threat while escorting in the first game was from quickly hacked turrets. All the problems occured "defending 1 point" x3. If they give a way to heal her, and she actually heals on her own between, I don't see it as being too bad. It was doing 3 in a row (and that is assuming her health bar will be as large) that made it problematic.

Every game just about now days seems to contain a level or two that you just hate and are glad to pass. Which is ok for one play through. The problem arises when you consider playing the game again, and then you realize, "Oh, I would have to do x, and y, again... Nah...". And then you put the game down and move to the next. I just don't want a sequal crammed full of reasons not to play it again.

I would have probably bought PC if the game wasn't hampered by DRM. I did buy the Xbox version, finished it. Then grabbed the PS3 version and recently finished it. The PS3 version had all the dlc built in excepts for challenge rooms which was nice. I felt the load times were better on PS3. I think Xbox had better graphics but had FPS slow down. PS3 had no slow down and had better fog effects (heavily used in the game). Some texture pop in plagued the PS3 as well. It all felt like someone new to porting to the PS3 handled to game.

Ok I have a few issues with this. I just finished Bioshoick for the 2nd time on PS3. The B2 teaser trailer came up and showed a grown woman who was obviously a little sister at one time. That apparently isn't being followed. While I know this video is just an early glimpse, I don't like the new voice of the little sisters. Screwed up a good thing there. Rapture did not feel like Rapture. When is the time frame of this? Before/after? If you are the first Big Daddy, you should be meeting people that were dead in the first game, and revisting old places that look fresher than the first game. I guess what I am trying to say is if you are trying to be somewhat of a prequel, be a prequel. That video looked and felt like someone immitating Bioshock, not really Bioshock...

Lastly my least favorite mission of the whole game was having to guard a little sister past 3 bodies while the sky rained splicers who came from 3 directions. Babysitting missions in any game, I don't care how good the game is, always annoys the hell out of me (I hated them in Wing Commander, I hated them in X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter, I hated them in WOW, I hate them with a passion in any game as much as developers who use a countdown timers to add an edge to games. Why? Because the guarded NPCs are always morons that try to get in to trouble, get killed, don't really defend themselves and rarely do anything other than make life miserable for the player). Now it seems that the whole game or a good portion of it is centered around this very annoying aspect. I wasn't impressed with this vid either, and I am a huge fan of Bioshock. But this didn't feel like it to me ( An option to look through the mask versus unobstructed would be a plus for realism).

I am playing Sacred 2 PS3 right now, it's a lot better in some cases controller wise than the PC version as far as playability (I have the PC version from last year too). It's polished. Seems they toned down the amount your character babbles too (this is a good thing). So you can keep voices on and still enjoy the game. Frames are fine too. The only complaint I would have is the console versions have more "tearing" than the PC.

I played 3/4ths through Lost Oddysey and moved on to something else. I liked the "Momento" style script and I loved the poems and story with the flashbacks. That I did like quite a bit. But for actual game play I felt majorly let down. I will go back and finish it just to check out the end.

I am pro PS3 because I see them getting a bad deal in the press and people throwing misinformation all ove rthe place. Between my brother and I, we have had 5 RROD instances. I have faught with Xbox on the phone over DRM on DLC hours and hours over 2 systems. This was back before policy changes. Owning both and seeing the best and worst of both worlds, it's easy for me to choose PS3. There are good things on both and both is the way to go, but I think if you want economical, and you want top performance, PS3 is the new way for everyone to go. I also like the fact that the PS3 community for the most part is not screaming brats spewing profanity. The Eye of Judgement community is amazingly friendly. On second thought, no one else buy a PS3 lol.

Dades - I loved Crackdown (it's 2+ years old btw hehe. Lost Oddysey was kinda bleh (disk swapping boredom with the same monster sets blech which is also last year..). All your titles are old news, last years business, you need to step up with this years!

Yeah Crackdown did something every open world game should do, release a DLC that allows a full reset of the game content while keeping your character and stuff intact. I just recently played Godfather 2 and Saints Row 2. I tried real hard to like GTA4 but it was nothing like San Andreas. I got 10 hours in and just walked away (twice now). I think Saints Row 2 is my favorite followed by Crackdown. That game was a lot of fun. I like Godfather 2 a lot. They need to flesh it out more but the strategy gang shooter is good stuff to build on.

Godfather 2 did so much right, Dean Martin music, the songs, the themes, the cars, the clothes, the talk and jargon. Maybe you gotta be old to love something like that. The game seemed like it was missing attrition to guards. I think that would have changed some things. Making use of the arsonist a little better too. I am really hoping they make a 3rd and build upon 2.

I hear ya but by that time all that other stuff will be out too. Plus the ability to go back and pick up some really cool early stuff on the cheap. Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom was a great game (although mediocre reviews) if you liked Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and stuff like that. There's a lot of decent old stuff people can get real cheap now.

Also paying $120 a year for online play factored in to the price of an xbox is much more expensive than a PS3. PS3 you get a free Blu-ray player too. HDMI built in. For 14-26 bucks a month you can rent 8-16 BDs from Netflix to really take advantage of it. Not to mention the PS3 is built to mod, even official encouragement and instructions from Sony on how to do so.

I will still be picking up Xbox exclusives, though few. I hope the numbers stay even once PS3 catches up so we fully benefit from the competition.

If MS comes around to BD, and they drop a nice machine in consumers hands soon, then PS3 will have trouble. But if not, I don't see stopping the momentum.

PS3 hasn't had the titles to outshine until this year. I am guessing by the time God of War 3 comes out, those numbers will look a lot different. Most of the Xbox numbers are 1 year early adopters and I bet many have bought more than 1 Xbox for a replacement or to have more than 1 (heck I even have 2). I would like to know of this more attactive list because everything I am seeing is multiplatform or Halo stuff with a few expected like Forza. There is no race this year, it's already over imho. Many Xbox owners will be PS3 owners by GOW 3.

I disagree about MS having an answer for everything, in fact their list this year is like 5-7 titles and some are pretty useless too. As for MS beating Sony, sure, that's what happens when you get to market a year early on a direct pc clone. This year is going to be a different story and it's already started.

I tell you what, I will name some titles and you come up with a direct answer MS has.

1) Little Big Planet

2) Eye of Judgement

3) Mag (256 person 20 year int he future Planetside type game)

4) God of War 3

5) Twisted Metal

6) Any Motorstorm Title

7) InFamous

8) PixelJunk Monsters, Eden, or 1-4 (it is being named with a fan based contest)

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/05/08/how-do-you-play-pixeljunk-1-4/

9) Uncharted 2

10) Rag Doll Kung Fu since you made fun of it (you and I both know this is like Super Smash Brothers without having to use a Wii and Xbox has nothing like it).

The response I posted was in relation to the article which was console only and what console exclusives they had in contrast to each other. The PC wasn't even part of the discussion until you posted.

This is a comparison of console versus console. Many exclusive titles for consoles also appear on PC like Mass Effect.

Sony has plenty of console exclusives. This year will be pretty amazing. I don't mind console exclusives as I can get either owning both. What ticks me off is exclusive DLC. It's very unfair to people who go in blind buying for their favorite console only to find out they bought the wrong one. It's 50/50 chance of not having to buy a second game if you gotta have that DLC, and one the the most underhanded slimeball ways to sell extra games.

Sony exclusives this year:

Killzone 2
Flower
Noby Noby Boy
InFamous
Uncharted 2
God of War 3
Ghostbusters (Europe timed exclusive, multiplatform elsewhere)
The Agency
Fat Princess
Free Realms
The Punisher
DC Universe Online
Gran Turismo 5
Heavy Rain
Rag Doll Kung Fu
Wardevil
White Knight Chronicles
Ratchet and Clank Future... 2
L.A. Noire
MAG
Twisted Metal PS3
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
MotorStorm: Arctic Edge
SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals Fireteam Bravo 3

Not to mention some other lesser known DLC titles like Comet Crash.

I am also holding my breath for Demon Souls to get localized this year. Some of those may slide to 2010 but it's a big list and only getting bigger.

You have a very good point. I do however like how they are selling whole games each time with new graphics of the band. The price per song is actually lower on the GH games than buying singles of the same quantity for Rock Band (like twice as much for RB). But you sacrifice being able to order ala carte.

I hope one day to see GH - Pink Floyd and GH - Led Zepplin.

That SSD article is a good read. I reccomend it to anyone considering Solid State Drives for anything. I have been monitoring these to get a new PS3 SSD but it seems this technology still needs a couple years to get it smoothed out some.

The campaign takes you on a tour of all 3 factions from each perspective. So the faction you play first will not have all their powers available as you are early in the campaign. The higher up in the campaign you are, the more that is available. I would have preferred 3 singular campaigns but that's not what we got.

I find the "conquer the world" scenarios to be pretty fun, and there it's like running the campaign with all bells and whistles but also getting to call the shots. I got the game for $10 and it lasted me 2 weeks with plans to play it again some day.

I played the entire campaign, then a take over the world game with each of the 3 factions. They all play really different and force you to play differently. It doesn't make you rush as much as something like Red Alert 3. There is time to plan.

GH - Slash was guest mentor this week (rock n' roll week) on American Idol, he also performed. Paula Abdul stepped out for the first time on AI stage singing and dancing. Then Daughtry performed. Not to mention the shoe in winner "Adam" singing a great version of a Led Zepplin song. Was a pretty cool show whether you like AI or not. I am guessing that sparked some ideas or was a pilot for this idea.

Universe at War deserves a relook if you haven't tried it yet. I would reccomend buying box'd bargain bin but that's up to you. Don't let the lame first mission or the lame dialog from the US Army guy deter you. This has 3 solid factions all worthy of play and a good global map "Risk" type campaign (found under scenarios). Skirmish play too. The Campaign if you stick with it is good, and will teach you the basics of all the factions.

I liked Dark Sector. Just be prepared to use the "Krull Glaive" a lot the last 1/4th of the game. In fact it is required to do well against the final bosses. My favorite thing about it was the fact many maps had 2 paths. So the AI could exploit sneaky tactics. If you play PS3, just turn off that silly Sixaxxis stuff and use the controller.

I wish they would stop developing for this Sixaxxis crap. They ruined a pretty cool game (Lair, even with the controller patch it's still wonky) pushing this thing and it sucked then, sucks now, and will suck later. Let it die.

My wife caught Leonard Nimoy on "The View" today. She said that there was a big deal about Angelina Jolie saying he was repressed, and that she should get a hold of him and make him scream. Well Nimoy's current S.O. said don't worry, she makes him scream lol.

There was another part about how "Bill" (William Shatner) threw him into a pool on set while Nimoy was wearing a heavy terricloth robe and that grew into a rumor about Shatner trying to drown him. It was a joke turned bad, as Nimoy could have easily drowned according to him.

They also said something about impressions of why Shatner was not involved with the project but only ued that as a tease and was never covered.

J.J. Abrams has stated any time he is called to do a Star Trek movie he will do it in a heartbeat. That he had so much fun doing this movie that he would gladly do it again. He said fans are concerned about the chemistry and relationships between the crew and has stated he thinks that this crew has that special magic. I guess tonight a lot of people find out.

Have fun Blue.

Darwinia was great, I haven't played the other games (I haven't seen or heard of them until now). I don't buy Xbox DLC much if at all anymore, so I don't even really know what's over there. Darwinia appealed to the old Wiliams and Atari arcade gamer with a layer of strategy. It was like seeing Tron for the first time. Good stuff.
