Mordecai Walfish wrote on Nov 20, 2012, 13:04: Nintendo seemed to adopt a policy of being their customer's worst enemy instead of being a proper challenger to their rivals ever since the SNES era. They would be on top of the world right now if it wasn't for retarded mistake after mistake. They've been one of the most paranoid companies against piracy since day 1, and it does not take a world class economist to realize how much they have suffered as a result of that stance. Most would say they 'won' the last console generation despite weaker hardware. Seriously, look at what you're saying. Wii and DS absolutely destroyed.
edit: not saying I support their decisions, but 'mistake after mistake'? Pfffft. |

Still remember the special Secret of Mana series Nintendo Power had for a few issues. God was that beautiful. RIP |

Hmmm.... PS3-specific DLC for Portal 2? I bought the PS3 version so I could have both PS3/Steam version, and I actually have a PS Move lying around from work.
Still kind of doubt I'll buy this, though. |

Frodo is in the beginning as a flash back, where Bilbo is telling him the story. Yeah, I thought about it a bit after posting and realized that's the only possible way that would make sense. |

Think I'm going to pick up this game tonight. Seemed a little strange at first glance but I've really only heard good things about it. |

I also voted for Secrets of Grindea. It reminded me of the old SNES days, and if they can pull of 4 person co-op it could be pretty cool. I'll be keeping an eye on that one to release. |

Ok so the NFL issue is tentatively fixed, can we get hockey going now? Seriously - I love hockey but it pisses me off that these guys all behave like they are the NFL or NBA and not some niche sport with a very small and static audience. You are all overpaid - just play. But they're not striking, they're locked out.
Owners want a significant rollback of their salaries...after teams spent the last few years signing players to long-term, ridiculous $100m+ contracts.
Don't get me wrong, there's definitely greed on both sides...but I wouldn't be happy taking a huge paycut just because the owners screwed up on the last CBA.
In the end, the fans are the only ones worth feeling sorry for.
Edit: not to mention the increase in average ticket prices they promised wouldn't happen during the last CBA negotiation (terrible around me, for sure), and the huge pay increase Bettman's seen since the last CBA.

If that requires throwing Bettman down a deep well then so be it, as Esoteric said sometimes sacrifices must be made. Seriously I need my fantasy league fix or I start to get twitchy. Aaand like clockwork, there goes the second half of the preseason. |
