Absolutely amazing game, and the Legends mode is an added bonus. I spent a ton of time with this game, and couldn't recommend it more.
Hoe exactly does the Legends work? How long is that Coop Campaign? I I guess, this is not the full SP campaign that's coop?
It's not related to the single player campaign at all. There are four classes: Samurai (standard beefcake), Assassin (self explanatory), Hunter (ranged), and Ronin (healer). You can create one of each, and level them up separately (their level is based mostly on your gear's 'ki' level, but there are also different techniques to unlock). Gear is unlocked at the end of a successful run of any of the game modes.
There's five levels of difficulty for each, available based on your gear's level. Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum/Nightmare
The four game modes:
Story: 2 player only, quick 20-30 minute co-op stories that feature three chapters each
Survival: 4 player co-op, 15 waves of increasingly difficult enemies with "boss" waves on every third wave
Rivals: 2v2 versus...in way. Technically, your team of 2 is racing against another team of two to see who can kill enough Mongols and finish the objectives
Trials of Iyo: 4 player co-op. This is basically a sort of raid. There are three chapters (the first two can take anywhere between 45 minutes and HOURS, depending on your communication and teamwork, as there is no real 'failing' aside from giving up). These become available when you hit around 110 ki level (120 being the max). There's a lot of grappling and platforming that can make these hell, but there are also some pretty difficult and tricky battles.
I spent a LOT of time in Legends during COVID. It was a great added bonus because they didn't charge for it and just released it out of the blue. it's great fun and I even made a few friends playing it.
