I agree. Quit your bitching. Steam is not so bad anyway. The only problem with Steam is you can't sell or otherwise transfer your games.

You've got all of the game including one DLC and you will be up-to-date for a certain amount of time and you have the Steam key so you won't have to spend any more money than is required for the newer DLCs.

Nothing to really complain about. Be happy that you are entering the world of Shadowrun again. It might never have happened.

Props to the guy who got it to work offline. Those fucking DRM SCUMBAGS claim that the game is dependent on the server to run at all.

"That sounds... unsafe.

Did your hair turn green too?"

Surprisingly, nothing happened other than the bleaching and texture change. I never felt sick or anything.

It was very interesting.

And yes this actually happened. Wouldn't have if I hadn't lost track of time sitting in there.

Worthy of note is the fact that I don't get outside much and the color change wasn't as significant of a difference as you might think. lol

I have actually bleached my skin stark white. I had a dermatological problem and my doctor recommended bathing in bleach with a small amount. It wasn't working for jack shit so I decided to up the ante a little bit and lost track of time inside the tub.

Next thing you know, my body is pure white. The texture of my skin changed like some chemical reaction took place. It was very weird. I'm not sure it's changed back to this day (texture-wise).

I just want to elaborate on the low end GPU thing. Back in the day I upgraded from I think a regular Geforce to a Geforce 2 MX, which was the lowest end GF2 and the performance increase was pretty damned awesome!

Nowadays if I tried pulling that I would have an even shittier GPU.

Ant you are missing out you don't need a new processor most likely all you need is to invest in a reasonable GPU. Spend maybe $170 on it.

Everyone thought that you needed a Core 2 system to play Crysis but I can run it in a very high/high hybrid with an Athlon64 X2 2.2 GHz and a Geforce 9800GT (which is basically an 8800 GT) except with the flashlights (as they are too much for the CPU to handle) in 1024x768.

For the record, Crytek's answer to all the angry people getting bad performance was a Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz with a 9800 GT in 1024x768 in high detail.

As you can see all you need is a sub $200 GPU. No need to upgrade anything else. Keep in mind that there is a scam going on where the low end GPUs are REALLY SHITTY. I spent $70 on this 9800 GT and the current generation sub $100 GPUs, which should be better, are MUCH WORSE! MUCH MUCH WORSE *AND* they have those fancy modern GPU numbers!

Buy yourself a $170 GPU and get back in the game!

I was involved in the closed beta and actually got two of my ideas implemented.

One of them, blood spatter on the ground whenever blood came into contact with it, was scrapped probably due to repetitive graphics from the arterial sprays.

The other, well, let's just say if you ever kicked around a severed head on the ground, you can thank me and some programmer.

I just want to say that these new low latency wireless devices had better really be low latency.

There is no excuse for not using wired devices. They are absolutely superior.

I don't fucking do wireless.

Although theoretically a fat beam of infrared should be faster than the speed of electricity amirite?

I just want to take a moment to just say how fucking awesome Goldeneye 64 was.

I remember when that game came out. I was in Junior High. Of course all the missions were cool but let's not forget how damned fun it was to shoot people up.

This was the first game I am aware of with visible damage (blood).

Goldeneye was so fucking awesome. And it pisses me off when people judge it by modern standards.

You can't do that! This game was a pioneer in so many different ways! Modern games owe so much to Goldeneye!

It was an awesome game hands down. One of the best first person shooters ever made in the history of videogames!!!!!!!!!!

Objective based missions, visible damage, decals pock marks smoke effects, best looking explosions.... There is a longer list than that I just can't remember anymore!!!

It's true that Wikipedia does have some accurate information.

The problem is that you cannot trust the general public to maintain an honest encyclopedia. There are countless articles that contain outright lies.

While there is accurate information I think it is not a good idea to use Wikipedia for anything. It is like going to a known liar for information: it is a bad idea even if there are certain topics with a low chance of there being lies.

You should find a trustworthy source and not open yourself up to potentially absorbing false information.

Wikipedia is a fool's encyclopedia. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you must be living under a rock.

No one who takes their information seriously and knows the damnedest thing as to what they are doing trusts Wikipedia.

I hate the deletionists. They want to delete everything!

It's ridiculous! Wikipedia should be the largest compendium of knowledge available. It should be that you can find anything on Wikipedia.

Instead, these deletionists are deleting all kinds of things!

The longest running game I am aware of is Ultima Online, which has been active for probably over 16 years.

I started playing it in the 7'th or 8'th grade and am now 28 years old (and yes, I play on a free server).
