"They are the gay, fighting fucking force."

LOL

It's too bad there wasn't an Ambiguously Gay Duo cameo (where they bust through the wall with the car).

"The gays are beating the Russians!"

I liked what they did with the graphics on the last one. I guess they finally got their stuff together.

OK fine but WTF is this casual gaming for the PC bullshit?!! This guy is from Epic: there WILL be PC ports!

If Capcom is still making PC ports, Epic likely will as well.

I can see PC gaming dying as in port-only... but I CANNOT see PC gaming as casual only.

That's ridiculous. You can tell that he is angry at piracy and probably is trying to lash out with whatever he has (that being keeping games off the PC).

I wonder if Carmack and the others still have actual creative control.

I hate it when these companies have to report in to corporate HQ. Damned suits aren't capable of overseeing game development; they don't have any first-hand experience with game playing thus cannot tell people what makes a good game.

Lol, there are even gamers who wouldn't be good at this!

That second Red Faction didn't even allow for anything to blow up.

I was a fan of the first as well. I remember tunnelling through the mine and finding an underwater lake.

I just loved the fact that every time someone shot a rocket, something significant would happen to the surrounding area.

GeoMod is awesome. Long live real-time destructibility!

Ever since Need For Speed 2, I've had a casual interest in these racing games. I don't like arcady physics, however.

Toca 3 was pretty sweet on the old Xbox. I remember loving how the devs allowed the console to be brought to its knees in order to implement the physics involved with monster truck driving.

I'm really unqualified for such an interest, but I really felt Toca 3 implemented a sense of (torque?) unlike any other. When racing in the tracks, the car would seem to rip into it. It really gave a sense of tearing into the track and actually surging forward.

I loved it. And am currently downloading the demo for RaceOn.

It's good to see a company go by the realism route. I hate arcade physics... They're just boring.

I want to slide around that corner like a pro.

"You can make a realistic sim easier to play for somebody but it's very difficult to take an arcade handling system and make that appeal to people who prefer simulation handling."

Also, the graphics look amazing. Those cars are packing some serious polygon density.

Exactly! I was just about to say that they're pulling a China and trying to format the minds of the youth!

And while I disagree, they really do have a problem with videogame addiction. Someone actually died over there from playing at a game lounge for over 72 hours straight.

Plus, Korea's average download rate is something like 30 megabits, which makes those 4 and 8 gig game downloads much less of a hassle.

Just imagine them trying to nail him with a felony if he'd "crash" into anything!

This is the second new game mode they've released since I've been playing. I can't figure out how to join any games that are running these alternate modes.

King of the Hill was implemented the patch before this yet I've never played on a server running it.

WTF?

Who ever thought that Just Cause 2 would have a grappling hook and Spiderman-like mobility?

I love it. *flips off Mercenaries 2*

I know that this might not be corporately palettable in a post 9/11 world, but I hope they remember that Bullfrog was trying to make every last inch of EVERYTHING destructible.

I don't want to boot up some new Syndicate game and find myself years behind the first one's efforts.

I like that screenshot. It reminds me of Love.

I doubt that it'll be a real revival of the old games. Hopefully it'll be a great FPS with a lot of good graphics and atmospheric effects that while failing to be an XCOM game, delivers as a FPS.

I actually played the old Xcom games a little and liked it. I'm only 25 though and probably played Xcom like how I watched Gilligan's Island on Nickelodeon at Night mornings.

Btw Mary Anne is hotter than Ginger.

I actually was part of the closed beta. I remember how they made a big deal of the NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and the fact that they actually distributed the beta client through mail only.

It was cool.

Gotta love that there's a Wilhelm scream mod. It reminds me of that mod for Half-Life 1 or 2 that ended up having a mod OF THE MOD made.

Or how about Street Fighter 2: The Movie: The Game?

Nothing's less prone to failure than a videogame-to-movie-to-videogame of the movie adaptation!

Edit: OMFG you won't believe this! CHINA HAS A NEW LAW THAT ACTUALLY BANS LIP SYNCING FOR ENTERTAINERS!

And two Chinese singers were recently found in violation!!!!!!!

The fine was $7,350 (50,000 yuan)!

" Lip-synching, known as "fake singing" in Chinese, burst into the open during 2008's Beijing Olympics.

China's Olympic organisers were lambasted by internet users and in the media after they admitted a nine-year-old girl lip-synched during the opening ceremony, in place of the real singer who was rejected because of her appearance.

The Culture Ministry then issued an edict formally banning lip-synching and threatened to revoke the performance licences of repeat offenders. "

While obviously excessive, it's definitely interesting that the government is actually attempting to compensate for engaging in lip-syncing. That it actually is reacting to lip syncing criticism.
