"Ubi (and all other game developers). Get it through your thick heads. No matter what you do to the game releasing it MONTHS after consoles will leave people not giving a shit."

Trust me, it's better than a buggy release! (Though they really should have scheduled their simultaneous development better on this one. Its been too long.) Aren't you sick of developers releasing buggy games that are often times not even playable?

AC2 PC suffered from a terrible bug where it wouldn't keep track of your save file and you could lose 10+ hours of gameplay. My copy is unplayable due to this fact.

What I want to know about Brotherhood is if they have those damned irritating timed sequences in some dungeons. I really truly hated this part of AC2.

Remember in the dungeons for collecting Altair's armor how they would have these switches that would then give you a limited amount of time to navigate through platform jumping and environmental challenges?

I hated it! I simply couldn't stand it once it got to the point where I had to go through a ton of different things. Remember the first time there's a timer on the wall with a skull moving down towards the time limit?

I found it completely unenjoyable and that it detracted so much from the gameplay that I didn't even want to play. I haven't had this much frustration since the old NES days. My blood pressure would literally sky-rocket.

Otherwise AC2 was indeed an excellent game.

Anyone else find this frustrating?

How are you able to even play this game? The stupid engine has it to where every time you load a save file, it has to re-load the entire map (which is incredibly unoptimized and takes forever even on this Core 2 Duo system that can run Crysis pretty well).

I found it completely unplayable.

I thought companies doing business over the Internet weren't actually required to pull in sales tax.

It makes sense like that, anyway. Sales tax is actually a tax on the seller, not the buyer, it's just that the law allows for the seller to pass the tax on to the consumer.

Therefore the sales tax applicable should be determined by where the seller is, not the buyer.

Also, this should also make it acceptable for a buyer to have to pay another state's sales tax, since it's in that state that they're buying.

"I hope my new Intel i7 950 quad-core, with 6 GB of RAM (using part of it as disk cache) baby can handle it! However, I am still using my old ATI Radeon 4870 video card (512 MB and 1280x1024 resolution) in an old, updated Windows XP Pro. SP3"

Sounds great, though that video card will put a ceiling on your performance.

Trust me, when I upgraded to this Core 2 Duo system, I was still running off an old video card and all the new games still wouldn't run well. Doom 3 ran like shit, though the phyics were all somehow being processed beautifully.

"When WoW goes Free-to-play in a few years they'll get into this business for themselves. Selling gear and gold for IRL cash. Until then they squash any of the little guys who try to do it before them. "

Don't expect that to happen anytime soon. I used to play Ultima Online like 10 years ago and that game is still running somewhat strong with a subscription user base.

The only thing that will make World of Warcraft F2P is a WOW part 2. Not even a seperate MMO from Blizzard will do this.

"Good choice on the demo. If any game needs one, it's a Crysis game. After the first one I'd imagine that people are worried whether the sequel will even run on anything other than low settings on their hardware."

All it takes video card wise to run Crysis at high settings is an 8800/9800 GT. You need to upgrade to a modern multi-core processor in order for Crysis to run properly.

I'm personally running on the Crysis PC config, which is the budget system Crytek came up with that can run Crysis at high setting. It consists of a 2.6 GHz Core 2 Duo chip with a 8800/9800 GT video card with 2 gigs of ram.

Of course, overclocking it to 3.2 GHz and running in a custom set very high setting (minus some of the crazy lighting effects and physics) is even better.

Oh, one other thing though. You really don't want to try this stuff in anything over 1024x768 res, unfortunately.

I applaud these people! Good job! I have been so pissed off at buggy games these days.

2 games in a row that I've bought have been unplayable due to bugs. It's enough to make a person go completely illegal and just download torrents of games.

"The PS3 and PC bugs suck, but my first thought reading this is that the UK has strong return rules and they could have got a refund for the game if they found the quality unacceptable."

I'm sorry man, but simply returning a game just isn't enough. These companies need to get their act together and a lawsuit is just what they need.

It's unacceptable to release this crap on the market. If this were any other type of product, they'd be up to their necks in lawsuits.

"Penalising a publisher for releasing a game that hasn't been tested on every platform and every configuration sets a bad precedent for everyone."

While I agree it would be a problem to sue a publisher for the fact that one person's machine is having problems where many others aren't, these companies are releasing games that have lots of problems on a wide variety of machines.

Particularly the fact that they actually released a CONSOLE VERSION (PS3) of Black Ops that was buggy. That is absolutely unacceptable. Consoles have unified hardware configs and there simply is no excuse for lots of bugs in a situation like this.

I like the idea of a crafting based MMO, though I must say that I doubt it will be any better than just crafting armor and weapons.

I'm used to Ultima Online, where you can craft a shitload of different things including furniture, acquiring raw food sources, turning those food sources into a bunch of different meals, clothes (with a shitload of different items to craft), and more.

Fuck these stupid assed games where their concept of crafting is just weapons and armor. How boring and generic.

What I simply do not understand is how you can say that releasing a demo on PC actually decreases sales while simultaneously being all about the Xbox 360 and PS3 demo scene!

Hell, those people are more likely to overplay a demo than a PC gamer is! They can't browse the web to spend their time!

It seems clear to me that Epic is simply lashing out like a baby on the PC market because of piracy. They want revenge and we're not getting a demo.

They may as well just drop the PC as a platform they support altogether.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I felt that Frontlines: Fuel of War on the PC was a very fun FPS.

Sure it was a console game (regenerating health), but it sure was fun. I loved the bullet physics. The blood effects were fun too. As were the additional weapons that unlock during a game. I'll never forget shooting down jets with my EMP launcher.

I say give 'em a chance. Maybe Homefront will be rushed out the door, but if they make it as good as Frontlines, it'll be worth buying.

I just wish I could find my Frontlines CDs. I miss that game.

EDIT: FYI just in case anyone's thinking about single player, Frontlines was really just a multiplayer game.

The funny thing is that it doesn't take a super computer to process what's going on with Watson. Surely it just runs off a database.
