They are not sitting back, Doug just stated that for their customers (and most PC gamers in general i hope) gameplay mechanics and content has precedence over graphics. Which is the way it should be. They are probably working on a DX10 based engine, but Im pretty sure we won't be seeing it any time soon.

Face it people more and more games on the PC will probably be console ports, hopefully some of them might even be good, but for the most part im pretty sure a lot of them will be stinking brown turds just like this game.

FFS seems like these days you can take a runny shit, pack it into a cd-case spice it up with a little marketing and it sells a million copies to the console crowd.

For some reason they think the PC users will gulp down that same shit just as easily, and when they don't they blame it on piracy....Fuckers....

Bethesda has stated on numerous occasions that they have removed level scaling. Which was by far the biggest problem of Oblivion. Sure Oblivion's main story was tame compared to Morrowind. Many quests lacked the depth that was found in Morrowind, but it was still a FUN game. I had FUN playing it, even though it was simplified it still gave me enough choices and freedom to feel like a real cRPG.

The man behind the best quest/s in Oblivion (and in my opinnion one of the best of the Elderscrolls series) is Lead Designer on Fallout 3.

I say let's give them the benefit of the doubt and wait for the game to come out before we crucify them on the fucking cross.

When it does, and if it turns out shit, then by all means, bring out the hammer and nails!

The hardcore "Fallout" fans fear for the franchise.

And considering how many companies have switched to the easy route of making simpler games to match simpler attention spans of console gamers, you have to say that their fears aren't that unfounded.

Besides Bethesda has already made one game that didn't match the standard of their previous game.
Im not saying they won't make a good game this time round and I will give them the benefit of the doubt, but it is highly unlikely to be an RPG in the tradition of the oldschool RPGs of old.

Ok so you get to make a character.

This character can transform into 3 beasts.

You get levels. (No mention is made of experience)

You kill monsters, which drop loot.

Erm, I predict 214 subscriptions..........:|

And they wonder why the PC gaming market is in decline.

Maybe they need to re-learn to make intelligent thoughtfull games that don't rely "just" on pretty graphics or "just" on hype.

Samuraisaint is an "evangelical" lurker. He reads every single thread on Blue's and makes notes how many times "Jesus" or "Christ" or "God" are mentioned in "vain".

In a way that makes him similar to the NSA who monitor our phone conversation for similar tags like "Bin-Laden" or "Weapons of Mass Destruction" or "Bush sucks Dick (Cheney)"
