I put in around 50 hours in Rome 2. Yeah it wasnt as good as Rome one, but it was still fun. I don't get the hate.

I never upgrade my drivers on driver day release, and lately these "game ready" drivers which come out on game release day are usually nothing more than but pure marketing stunts by Nvidia. He's right, there are three purchase options on Blizzard's page and it defaults to a sort of deluxe edition. Base game without the extra skins and other "digital goodies" for their other games is $40.

Yeah I guess I was wrong, didn't even check whether there were cheaper editions, so thanks for that. 40$ is indeed a little more palatable than 60$, i still don't know whether it's worth it so I guess Ill be checking the open beta to see.

Nah, you're pretty far off the mark there. Last Blizzard game I owned was vanilla WoW over a decade ago, so I'm hardly a fan boy. This is just a very good multiplayer team/class shooter. Watch some gameplay videos, watch TotalBiscuits review, people are having a lot of fun and the game is very polished. Unlocks and purchaseables are cosmetic only.

I did watch quite a bit of Overwatch, which is exactly the reason why I'm so disappointed. They are charging 60 Euros for a multiplayer only shooter! Remember we are not talking about something like Battlefield, Overwatch is basically a reskin of Team Fortress, with a bit of Blizzard polish thrown in for good measure. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, on the contrary, all I'm saying is that if this were any other company they would be publicly lynched for even attempting something like that and rightly so.

Ok I reread my two posts and maybe Im not making myself clear enough. I'm not disappointed with the game or the gameplay itself, I'm disappointed with their goddamn greed and how much they are charging for the game itself. Either make it F2P and start knocking on TF2's door, or make the price more reasonable, something like 20 or 25 Euros. Im sure that the purchesables are cosmetic only, but for how long do you think that's going to last honestly? Expansions? DLC Character packs? A game like this is going to feature many of those and anyone who thinks it won't is being naive.

I'm ashamed to admit I have two friends who buy into the moon landing hoax bullshit. They're good and decent people, but they are the kind of people who are easily swayed by anything that kind of agrees with their worldview which of course changes on the fly depending on the internet flavors of the month.

This IMO is one of the biggest drawbacks of the internet, if you dig deep enough you will find "evidence" "eye-witness testimony" or "proof" if you like for pretty much anything you can imagine...

Actually it's unfair of me to blame the internet. The internet was originally used only by scientists and engineers, long before it became open to the general public. You know, people who can think critically, something that is probably completely incomprehensible to the majority of people in the world.

It's not people. It's rich old hollywood studio owners who haven't read a comic book in their life, or haven't played a single one of these games in their life. All they see is potential $$$, because what they see is a huge consumer base, after all the video games industry is even more profitable than Hollywood.
