kinda bullshit that the single player game is a million dollar stretch goal...

Yeah, though it seems they will hit that target easily.

I need to find my old Mechwarrior 2 and Mercenaries 2 CDROMs...

The audio tracks/music on those was fucking fantastic.

You don't need to go searching for them. Youtube has everything!

MechWarrior 2 Soundtrack
MechWarrior 2 Mercenaries Soundtrack

Enjoy!

P.S. Bonus video: 2009 MechWarrior (reboot) Trailer from Smith & Tinker that never saw the light of day.

Oh man, thats pretty cool. Thanks. This is what's going to be playing in the background as I command my lance to Victory. Down with House Steiner! Down with the Pretender! Long live Prince Victor!

Also, at this point, it baffles me that we still have "PC gamers" and "Xbox gamers" and whatever.

I understand making a choice for financial reasons, but many here make them for personal. Great games come out for all systems, I'll never get restricting yourself to one for anything other than cost reasons.

Yeah cost is a big issue, which is also simple pragmatism. Why have 3 gaming systems when one will do? There are also only so many hours in the day. Especially when the other two are so far behind in visuals, and you suck badly with a controller. Some of us also prefer the type of games we (used to) get on the PC over the consoles.

Lastly, some of us want to support our platform of choice, we want it to become what it used to be. I can't think of a better way than boycotting console releases and purchasing only PC games.

The good 'ol Red Scare...I mean War on Terror. Great at wasting tax dollars and giving the illusion of safety, even better at hurting the US tech and data industries, one of the few prospering industries left in the country.

I agree with the first part of your statement, but disagree with the second part. Today's kind of big brother world is perfect for the tech and data industries, they are thriving.

Jeez, it's been up for like 10 hours and it's already at three-quarters of a mil. I guess Hairbrained has built up some serious cred.

People are very hyped for a proper Mechwarrior game. I for one want to experience Battletech in all of its turn based glory. Kind of miffed that the year of the setting will put it before the return of the Clans. IMO that was always the most interesting time period of the Battletech universe. Clan Wolf forever!

if the world revolves around you, then everything is personal.. thats how egotism works

it all depends on how far up your own ass you are... some dipshits take a rain storm personally

Others make personal decisions into business ones. Which is pretty much the same thing.

"Fuck you, PC gamers."
Surely you understand the difference between a business decision and a personal insult?

Surely you understand how one can also be the other?

Obviously in development, we were all PC-based and had it running for win32 clients for the entire development

I wonder if he is even aware of the irony. He sounds so shocked that it probably went right over his head...priceless

Yeah by selling them the servers. That's called profiteering, not helping Carly...although I guess your average patriot might not know the difference.

Im pretty sure that even though some of you experienced problems playing 3d FPS games, the vast majority or people didn't and probably won't with properly designed VR gear.

with properly designed VR gear.

And those we haven't see yet

As we actually don't even have any commercial VR gear available at the moment, I think maybe just maybe it's kind of premature to call them all a failure don't you think?

Britain is almost a defacto Orwellian state at this point and the rest of the world doesn't seem too far behind. Except the Nordic countries like Denmark. They're the only ones who seem to have it together all around. Might be a good place to move.

Oil money, %50+ tax's and 8euro beers, whats not to like!

Yes, and no poverty, great medical, dental, education, green spaces, etc. for all their citizens. Yeah, I'll take that over the huge discrepancies between rich and poor in the rest of the world. It's a small price to pay for a great standard of living.

No poverty? That would be 13% poverty which is compared to the USA's 15%. Not saying its not a good system, but its not as you paint it.

No poverty lol. Classic Cutter...

I personally don't care about SQ42. I want Star Citizen, and most people are in the same boat as me, so that's why they don't focus on SQ42.

I disagree. The vast majority of people are not black&white like that but they want to play both, Squadron 42 and the PU, which perfectly corresponds with the game's original vision which is you join the military, play through the SP campaign and then become a (civilian) citizen at the end to continue your life in the PU.

People might have a preference for S42 or the PU (for me it's S42) but the people who do not care at all for either the SP or MP aspect of the game are the exception. Most of us want to play both.

Yeah, so considering the progression of the game which do you think should come first? SQ42 or the PU?

Well, Roberts still is with Squadron 42... at least theoretically...

Roberts had plenty of time (and money) to focus on SQ42. Instead he chose not to, and is paying the price I'd say. The further decision to split SQ42 into episodic content has only cemented my belief that SQ42 will probably never see the light of day.

I tried Elite Dangerous.. and it felt so god damn empty. So lonely.. i never felt like I was part of a big game

Tapped out after a few tries.

Still having a lot of fun screwing off in MGS though!

If you haven't you should check out freespace 2 scp

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhAR8rWPluQ

http://scp.indiegames.us/

http://www.gog.com/game/freespace_2

Ive played through FS2 at least like 4-5 times over the years. I think I played with the latest SCP build available at the time at least twice. FS1 and FS2 rocked. Great games. With that said there are only so many times you can play through a space sim campaign without getting bored with it. We need something new and fresh along those lines, too bad neither Braben or Roberts are making that game.
