Looks at what is happening. Seriously. Why would the major cable companies be spending the kind of money they are, upgrading bandwidth, getting set top boxes upgraded to deliver content on demand, unless they intended to exploit it?
I'm not implying there isn't a market for direct downloads. Hell, I've used it myself but, for rentals only. I'm talking about ownership. And what talking heads like Mattrick at Microsoft say people want and what the average-joe consumer says he wants aren't necessarily the same thing. My point is and continues to be, that in my experience, when it comes to
ownership, most people have expressed a desire to stick to physical media. Doesn't mean there isn't a place for digital distribution.
