I got annoyed when Steam had a free Sims 4 free weekend and it needed Origin too. Argh! I'm so glad I don't game like I used to. I miss the old days.
When you had to manually download 3-4 patches on GamesPlanet......
Then configure Gamespy or AllSeeingEye.........
Nope.
Literally 100x times better than what goes on today. DRM in every piece of software you use, 12 different launchers to play the same game. Plus the point of being able to choose your server instead of being pushed into a server with a bad ping.

So anyone try this version? I mean I bought in on release (as I am a sucker for these types of games) but man was I burned. The tactical gameplay itself was very promising, but there were so many incomplete or badly thought out gameplay loops (especially in the strategic layer) that the game felt WRONG somehow. No sense of progression or getting anywhere really with the research etc. (I remember that particular part of the game being very bare-bones and so bland that I can't even remember how it worked exactly)
SO yeah, very interested in the complete product (if this is finally it) and whether the game is actually good now.

I bought and played this as soon as it came out in the Epic store. Needless to say I stopped my play-through about 15-20 hours in, the game was riddled with bugs (none really gamebeaking I have to add) and balance wise it was really a mess. Progression was difficult past a certain point unless you played exactly the way it was meant to be played, but it didn't really reward an inventive approach (the way old-school XCOM did). So yeah. Im hoping it's gotten to a better place now, willing to give it another go when this patch hits. Hopefully it's in a better place now with more fleshed out systems and a reward system that keeps you interested in the game.

Will it? I saw "micro-transactions" and had zero interest in buying it. Looks like enough people agreed to make it a big loss for SE.
Good example why you should always quote.
