The grenade launcher could use a boost now. Maybe revert it to what it was in beta. If I remember correctly, the grenades exploded on the second bounce. That made them much better in close quarters combat.

All of their games will revolve around toothpick counting and Judge Wopner trivia.

I'd say more like 3 - 5 years when you consider that Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 have yet to be released. As long as WoW continues to dominate everything in the MMO field, I would expect them to take their time with this game. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw another WoW expansion before this game comes out.

It comes out next week if you're not looking for a pirated copy.

Stores are breaking the street date. My local Gamestop was selling it on Monday.

No spectator mode? Well that's retarded. I'd think that mode would be a requirement.

Last I heard, it doesn't even have quarter/player matches. Supposedly, you connect with one other person and that's it. Can anyone confirm this? This game is dead to me if that's true.

I'd like a new Killer Instinct game please..
whichever platform has it.. i'll buy.

I don't think Rare has the talent to pull off another Killer Instinct. They haven't put out a decent game in a decade.

Its been out for about 3 days now. I've played it online and it's missing a really important feature: spectating. In other fighting games, you can join a lobby and spectate while you wait in line to play. In Street Fighter 4, you sit in the lobby and stare at the menu while you wait to play. This one missing feature alone is a game-breaker for me, as watching other people play is a great way to learn.

The game industry floated the meme they're not affected by economic problems because people like to entertain themselves while they're living in squalor, but the reality is that they've taken a nasty hit in the last year. There's a post on this site almost every day about industry layoffs and closures.

The question I ask myself is how can we spend our way out of this one when all of the productive jobs are outsourced, insourced and everything in between? Are we going to build bridges and roads to vacant shopping malls and housing subdivisions? Maybe we'll all work at McDonalds so we can sell each other Big Macs for grocery money.

If you feel like gambling, I'd recommend poker. Unlike the stock market, it has rules that everyone has to play by. Las Vegas is a more honest place than Wall Street. At least you know what you're getting into.

A few months in beta was enough to convince me not to buy WotLK. It was plainly obvious to me that Blizzard handed it to the bench warmers while the real talent toiled away on their next MMO. I hope that's the case, at least. I'd hate to think that the people responsible for WotLK are working on it.

If you can't do that, then you're a hopeless case and your life will most likely be a series of failures until you die. I'm not trying to be mean, but the reality is that you either have dignity and strength of will or you don't.

The difference between someone who loses 150 pounds and someone who languishes in obesity is purely psychological and a sick mind is often not curable. After 3 years of working at a substance abuse center, it's my opinion that most mental instability is causes by selfishness in one form or another. The old saying "a leopard never changes its spots" comes to mind when dealing with addictive personalities.

I personally dislike the word 'addiction'. 'Weakness' is a stronger and more honest word for this kind of behavior. Calling yourself a weakling is much harder than calling yourself an addict. Nobody wants to be weak, but plenty of people are happy to be victims to the 'disease' of addiction.

They sped up much of the footage in that video. It doesn't play that fast.

Dystopia is probably the most professional and complete mod since Team Fortress. I played it quite a bit until TF2 came out. Its been on hiatus since then. It's good to see that they finally updated it and got it going again.

I enjoyed L4D until it became a closet/corner camping festival where punching zombies was more effective than shooting them with an automatic weapon. I was hoping Valve would do something about that, but instead we get this ominous press release.

The frustration that many people feel has less to do with hating Valve or L4D and more to do with L4D being close to greatness but just missing the mark because of Valve's reluctance to address the few problems that are holding it back. Rather than getting assurance from them that they are fixing the broken aspects of the game, we get a vague statement that leaves open the possibility of paid content patches in the future.

TF2 has gotten almost twice as many patches as L4D since November. On top of that, it's going to get DLC in the form of the scout update before L4D gets any DLC. It's bizarre to me how two games can be getting very different levels of support from the same company. I understand that both games are run by separate teams to a certain extent, but the disparity is still shocking. You don't expect that from a product with Valve's name on it.

I'm not "ruling out the possibility" that space aliens will come to my door with a check from Publisher's Clearing House. I'm also not "ruling out the possibility" that Valve is going to fix L4D and give their customers free DLC. I just hope the former isn't a more realistic "possibility".

Valve again contacted Edge to say that it hasn't ruled out the possibility of the price being "$0.00."

That's not a very strong denial. It sounds to me like they're gauging the reaction of their customers, and the reaction has been overwhelmingly negative on the Steam forum.

"I hope they're not charging for the other 2 campaigns to move from coop only to vs."

If it's labeled "DLC", then they have to charge for it on Xbox Live. I assume it will be a free update for the PC like all of TF2's updates.

There's no reason that such a small update should be taking so long to finish. L4D came out in November and this won't be out until April - June. My guess is that they're saving the real content for a paid expansion this fall.

If you live in an urban area in Illinois (other states as well), there are traffic cameras on tollbooths and stop lights at major intersections. My friend got a ticket in the mail with a web address attached that had pictures of him blowing the stop light. I was able to zoom in close enough to see inside of his car and the camera was on top of a 20 ft. traffic light.

"You're misinterpeting what they're saying, which is they want a more ready society better able to respond to attacks or natural disasters, and not just leave it up to the usual responders. Posse Comitatus specifically prohibits what you're talking about."

Posse Comitatus has been eroded over the years by legislation and executive policy. If they sell their plan as disaster relief, they can avoid any questions about Posse Comitatus all together.

It's like what happened several years ago when the police were trying to convince everyone that cameras on the streets would deter crime. In reality, they wanted those cameras on the streets for the increased revenue they would generate in the form of automated tickets for minor traffic violations. Now they send you a ticket in the mail with a web site address where you can see pictures or video of yourself running a stop sign. I was blown away when this happened to a friend of mine.

Obama has stabbed his supporters in the back numerous times already and Rahm is possibly the most pro-war Democrat in Congress. This is why I question anything they say and find the idea of mandatory civil service and a domestic militia under their administration very ominous.

"That's simply absurd. They have very differening ideas and ideals about how they want the world to be and how to get there."

The fringe elements of both parties have no real political power and never have. The real power in Washington - your McCains and Obamas - agree on a wide range of issues, like universal healthcare (against it), illegal immigration (for it), unrestricted free trade (for it) and Israel's aggressive policy toward Palestine (for it). Obama claims to be against the war in Iraq, but in the same breath he talks about how we have to send troops into Afghanistan and Pakistan to find the bearded tooth fairy with bad kidneys. The "military-industrial complex" has fed off both parties for the last century.

Also, take into consideration how much sway Wall Street has over both parties. One visit to opensecrets.org tells the whole story. Is it any wonder that a Senate awash in banking money would vote almost unanimously to give them a massive bail-out?

"Oh the horror of it all!"

You need to tie it together with Obama's plan for a domestic militia with military-level power. That kind of organization is not going to be picking up trash on highway.

"fascists are very right-wing"

That's not true when you start doing some research. Compare Mussolini's rise to power with Barack Obama's and you'll find some startling similarities: swarming youth movements, messianic rhetoric. He even wants to start a domestic militia every bit as powerful as the military, i.e. Italy's blackshirts and Germany's brownshirts. You can find video on Youtube where he and Rahm Emanuel talk about mandatory civil service for every 18 - 25-year-old culminating in a domestic militia. Do a search for "rahm mandatory civil service". Obama's speech is at the end of the video.

It should also be noted that Nazi was short for National Socialism. Hitler was a socialist.

The left vs. right paradigm is false. Both sides are going to the same destination.

"Wow that was really clever...not."

My comment wasn't meant to be sarcastic or clever. I'm very disappointed in what L4D has turned into. My heart sinks whenever I see people huddled in a closet or corner with their right mouse button taped down. The game is ruined unless Valve makes some drastic changes that go much farther than content patches.

I'm glad Valve's focus is back on TF2. If I'd known L4D was a zombie-punching simulator with realistic closet camping, I'd have saved myself $50 and continued playing TF2 like I'm doing now.
