Not quite soy, a few of the people that were on the camelot team moved over to WAR , Mark jacobs for example, the lead designer/ceo.

Ive been waiting ages to hear about the crafting system, and it sounds fantastic - exactly what I wanted to hear! My friend at work is in the beta and says compleatly opposit, he loves it.. so swings and roundabouts on who you ask I guess. Coming from a DAOC background I can't wait for this

Edit: also bare in mind it's all subject to change as it is still in development, its quite possible they will add armor /weapons etc to it later on.

FFS, can't believe they took the 4 player co-op out. Was so looking forward to playing this with a few of my friends altogether through the story mode.

Wasn't so much as the game itself (although to hear thats its junk is a bit sad, must read them reviews now), I was more peeved off at the BBFC stomping its weight around again telling us what we can and can't watch when they pass shit like hostel and other similar films without a flicker of disappovement.

This is the second time in this thread you've made a comment concerning individual games...

THIS IS ABOUT DEVELOPERS. They are rating the efficiency, work environment, friendliness, etc. of the DEVELOPERS. Along with the games they released that year and their respective sales, reviews etc.

But can you honestly say hand on heart sale figures aside that ratchet and clank should be above halo 3 regardless of what criterea its based on?

No game is above another game, this is a developer ranking chart/survey.

Having re-read the actual link to the website,I apologise. The report written here was somewhat mis-leading (to me at least) as it listed assoicated games alongside the actual studio.

THIS IS NOT JUST BASED ON SALES.

MOST OF YOU ARE FUCKING IDIOTS.

Erm, we know its not. But can you honestly say hand on heart sale figures aside that ratchet and clank should be above halo 3 regardless of what criterea its based on?

As of november ratchet and clank sales were at 74,500 with very mixed review scores (some as low as 75% and as high as 95% ). Whereas halo 3 has sold as of january 8.1 million copies with an average review score of easily into the high 90% mark, it almost doubled the amount of people playing on XBL overnight. So I can only assume that the ''700 anonymous (yeah I bet they are) Game Developer- and Gamasutra.com-reading industry professionals'' have miraculously ignored these figures and came up with their own views on what makes a good game - Essentially this list is not worth the paper its written on.

Ps. no im not a XB 'fanboi' or halo 3 lover, theres a few other games on their I could easily pick out on there for being retardedly placed.

Gotta laugh at the people that were freaking out about this.

Not really, if it had come about it would of put alot of people off considering the uproar it caused.

Actually Skaven, you do have lots of ads in the middle of your DVD movie. Product placement has been huge in movies and TV shows for decades.

Yep your totally right, my bad. I guess seeing so many ads on a day to day basis has kinda become the norm now that I don't even notice it in movies.

sigh.. just stupid. I don't see ad's in the middle of my dvd movie or music im playing so why should games be any diffrent. Is there really a need for more sources of revenue when it was announced last week that for the first time quote - ''game sales went from £1.3 billion in 2005 to £1.7 billion in sales last year; meanwhile, music sales went from £1.8 billion to £1.4 billion in the same time and continue trending downward.''

really, perhaps dev's should look towards their publishers eating away at their profit.

And as for tornaments and ladders, its a nice idea but if the current 'arena' tornament that world of warcraft is currently running it will be as unbalanced and pointless as hell.

Christ please no. The only reason why sims2 is still in our chart at work is because EA pay our company a stupid amount of money to put it there. I sell what, maybe one a week if im lucky - seriously, no need for a sims 3 after bringing out 6 trillion expansion packs. what the hell is left to do.

I won't be boycotting for the simple reason that I don't use it. People that did get all they deserve imo. Just how you can buy a product then complain about it knowing full well what it does is bizzare.

Also I thought it was free unless you wanted to play against xbox users then it requires you to buy the gold membership?

WTf, this is some BS. so for thoes who already have purchased the game and shown support to get the beta we get stiffed unless we purchase the limited edition game with the first game that we already have.

One of the Iron Lore devs posted today on an industry forum with a bit of an (understandable) rant about why Iron Lore died, and put a lot of weight behind the view that rampant piracy had caused the bulk of their problems.
You can debate it all you like, but thats what one of the devs is saying today.

I read it and its a bit of a joke tbh. He partially blames piracy for its downfall then He basically goes on a rant about how stupid some pc users/reviewers are because they can't configure their systems correctly/wrong drivers yadda yadda (hello this is the PC, problems like that comes with the territory), Pretty much telling us nothing. Its more likely that some dodgy management decisions were made that made up the attributing factors of why they shut. If you want to be an independant in this industry nowdays you may want to take a look at what stardock is doing. It doesn't work for everyone but its better than slapping a copy protection on that screws the honest paying customer as well. Its either that or take a page out of valves book and sell through digital distribution, its not as if valve is doing bad out of it is it.
