Exactly! Think back to the first time you ever got killed in ARMA. If that was real life, the military would be sneaking your coffin back into the country with no fanfare.

OFP sucked in multiplayer. It was more of an afterthought and you could not join a game in progress. Multi in OFP was a PITA!!

ARMA has no peer. It is probably the farthest thing away from shit, which would be MYST. BI supports their releases and I look forward to returning the favor when ARMA2 hits the shelves.

id has been left on the back doorstep when it comes to creating compelling games. their engines have lacked tools needed by developers and the WOW factor that the audience demands.

some kick ass developer needs to challenge epic with a robust engine capable of rendering detailed indoor and outdoor environs with destructible geometry. having some good AI code like epic has integrated into their engine would also be a big help.

I think they are finding out exactly how hard it is to produce a realistic military simulation. I hope that one day we will see gameplay and graphics as seen in their first two cinematics released. The quality of the smoke and depth of space are two items missing from even ARMAII, the obvious gold-standard to beat.

I am keeping my fingers crossed, and I will be surprised if their first game can surpass ARMAII. As a gamer, I hope it does!

Some pretty bad motion tracks when adding their sinage graphics. They should have used BOUJOU or added those to the textures in the first place.

It looks like in-game footage. The smoke trail and Quake-type light on the missile hitting the BMP is a giveaway. Also, the landscape seems to suffer from a very short LOD. It's hard to really pin this down with the fast-forward video editing.

UT3 is one of those games with bots that plays so well offline, you don't even need to logon to have fun. I have been playing TITAN PACK nonstop single player and LAN since it was released!

One of these days I will try online with the TITAN PACK. Should be kickass fun!

IF you could play it without having to install nanny steam, then I would be interested. IF they decoupled steam from the games, it would be very appealing!

Based on what evidence?

There isn't a single game out there with DRM that hasn't been cracked. Yet the videogames industry turns in record profits of billions upon billion year after year.

Maybe we should use some restrictive DRM on you and spare us all of your fanciful conjecture.

I think that I have played plenty of games in the first and third person view to be able to distinguish good gameplay regardless of the player's perspective in the gameworld.

The fact of the matter is that third person views are designed for CONSOLES because of the lack of controls. Why do you think they also require AUTO-AIM? To hold the hand of these game-playing retards.

GAY EXCUSE! Don't blow everything up if you are worried about debris! Let the PLAYER CHOOSE!

CONSOLIZATION rears its very ugly and malformed head once again!

So here's a requested change - offer a first-person perspective!

CONSOLITIS refers to a lack of controls and memory and depth of gameplay.

Those three areas of most games suffer when there is either joint development with a console title or a port after a console release.

IF you don't have a radio shack computer system, GTA4 runs better on PC with higher resolution, cleaner textures and larger view distance. Oh, and real controls. Not some auto-aim for handicapped babies.

American foreign policy is the very definition of HORROR/SURVIVAL, but mostly from civilians and those that don't agree with their hegemonic dreams.

IF you could provide the user with a lag-free scene with CRAZY AMOUNTS of polys, then you would have a use for cloud computing. Right now, anyone with a decent rig is ahead of these services because they have 1- the rendering capability locally and 2- no lag.

IF you could move graphics ahead by 5 years using cloud computing, then you would be offering something. Of course, then you have the monumental development task of creating such assets.

So, if you could provide KILLZONE2 TRAILER-type graphics with even a little lag, then you would have something.

Longtime OFP fan, from the first video clip that Bohemia released showing iron sights from an M242. Now we can see how the target renders differ from the in-game experience.

One of the biggest differences between the CG and ingame footage is how the smoke and missiles are rendered. Both in the Killzone2 CG and DragonRising CG, the missiles could be seen twisting and arcing with beautiful smoke cascading out of the back. There was a real sense of scale and distance, which is lacking in all game engines. What is missing? Is it the complexity of the smoke trail, the scale of the gameworld, camera or something?
