It's a good alternative to Nerf Arena Blast for LAN co-op. Single player is so shit dumb, it isn't funny. Send your squadmates ahead to draw fire and then hide in a building until objectives are complete. The dead squaddies are resurrected like zombies and continue to fight on.

The camera shake and heavy artillery are great effects, though not enough to make the game memorable.

The problem is that even though it is an open world, the checkpoints are linear and lead you right to the enemy. Just go around the checkpoints and bam, you're done. Supergay.

Great graphics, but small maps and no freedom of movement. It's like a pretty rail shooter with heavily scripted everything. Haven't tried multi yet, but it looks to be another button-mashing spam fest.

Games for windows is a worthless PILE OF CRAP.

That would be bad enough, but there is more hell required for this game!

Now you have to run Rockstar's own version called Social Club, or clamidia club as I call it.

So, there are two unneeded layers of crap on an otherwise awesome game! All of this stupid crap has got to go. Get rid of it, rockstar. GFW is worthless and you compound the problem by FORCING your V.D. club on innocent gamers, some of whom are still virgins.

The game is tops, though, and I hope that they release the two DLCs for the PC some decade.

I really hope that nVidia can survive this FERMI disaster and stay solvent long enough to produce some real kickass cards! ATI has won this generation, nVidia, I would cut your losses if I were you.

World at War did come after COD4, so one would expect some optimization of the engine.

Perhaps IW imagined a spamfest from the design stage, I have no way of knowing that. But the fact is that despite maturity of code as the console ages, so does its technical capability compared to peer assets on the PC. That is both the blessing and curse of consoles.

But beyond the technical limitations of consoles comes the style and depth of play, interface design and button-mashing experience that many console titles employ.

That is a good point about COD4 being so butt-ass tiny that more than 9 people on a map makes it a spamfest. Every single map that I've played was a button-mashing spamfest. Again, it is the consoles limited capacity that is really hurting games.

Maybe next-gen consoles will be able to match 2005 era PCs. Here's hoping, because this development shit rolls downhill.

Some games don't make the transition into 3D, but they did an excellent job on this one! All of the gameplay is there and the visuals are just amazing. I don't know what the patch will fix because this is one of the most stable and bug-free games released this year.

If you have played this game, you fully UNDERSTAND that Dragon Rising does NOT compete with ARMA2. It is an arcade shooter that has been hamstrung by console limitations. It is closer to Call of Doody than a real milsim.

Still, I would like to see it evolve beyond its limited console roots. So MOD SUPPORT is essential!

Dedicated server. Improve AI. Get rid of the radial kids menu. Add some variation in the homogeneous environment. Lean is also needed.

Mod support is the most important.
