nice update - new AI should add a lot of random interactions. now please add support for unlimited sprites and custom sprite sheets. Also, let's get those blocks extended, too!

As Mr. Reign stated clearly, we need an exponential leap in GPU power to really see a difference. Not double each generation, but 10x the rendering power to really achieve something noticeable.

The Samaritan demo only had a few objects and no AI. What about photo-realistic rendering with hundreds of thousands of static objects and thousands of AI. That could make for a mind*blowing experience, but would require a leap in GPU power.

i just hope that their physix support extends to vehicles - there is nothing more disappointing than seeing tanks bounce around the map like ping pong balls! let's simulate some weight in the ArmA world!

Sounds like a GLITCHED Xbox720 would be the best way to go! No hassles at all - play the game from your hard drive and never worry about what account has what game and who is renting or lending what code for what time frame or whatever.

GLITCH IT, BITCHES!

plus, megatexture turns out to be a pile of shit on PC. just not worth anything at all.

the most elegant coding solutions are usually the best, and according to carmack himself, megatexture was an enormously complex feat to pull off and it gets easily blown away with unreal, cryengine and of course, frostbyte

kudos to carmack for trying new things. keep trying, because gamers benefit from the competition

True, but he is a rank amateur when it comes to the pedo business, behind the virginity rape clinics that catholic priests run. Very few have done jailtime for the tens of thousands of rapes they have committed.

give up megatexture and develop a better engine to compete with crytek or unreal.

SOLUTION: Buy the game and then use the cracked, DRM-free version. If you want to write a letter, write a letter to RELOADED, telling them how much you appreciate getting rid of the horrific DRM, they truly deserve our praise! Without groups like RELOADED, gamers would not be able to enjoy the games in their full glory, without the restrictive and insulting DRM imposed on them by draconian publishers.

just carmack! and now that we can see frostbite 2 compared to id tech 5, perhaps a dozen more carmacks are needed!

tech 5's multitexture - the most inefficient and nonsensical way to texture tiny console maps.

These days, I spend my evenings playing Zelda with my kids. And bowling. On the Wii.

OH YEA! How can you seriously compare the KINECT with the parkinson's simulator called the WII?

Crap graphics and gay games, plus having a lame controller is fun? NO.

There is so much more fun to be had with my kids with KINECT than on the WII - the only exception being Mario!

KINECT sports season two, adventures, puss and boots, adventure camp, carnival games, kinectamals, big league sports, virtual tennis 4, dance central 2, gunstringer, joyride, wipeout 2 and so many more KINECT titles that are truly FUN without having a lame controller!

the significant hardware problem with kinect is the half second delay and one wonders if a faster CPU on a PC will help with that. Not sure.

Don't think so - this is the XBOX kinect with a short-focus lens and different connector. The real Kinect will be released with the new XBOX in a year or two.

metro is a blast!

but i would love it if they had HUGE, ARMA-type maps! Then you would REALLY need teamwork to advance across those huge distances. Squads would become very, very valuable.

Hopefully, the next-gen consoles will come with a gig or two of memory to allow this to happen!

Not sure where the "mods need support" line comes from, given that theres like 6 billion huge mods that work just fine without.. ehm, dedicated support...

Granted you gotta edit the game files directly but i'd rather do that than suffer any limitations in their planned mod-support. Also theres already mod-support in a sense, given that theres mod-loaders abound that even allow access to different api's (so already superior to anything an official mod support could even do).

MOD SUPPORT as in source code availability and possibly increasing the sprite and block limits which are a real problem with multiple mods.

yes, forge does deal with this, but it is a kludge and another prerequisite to install

YES, please nerf the IRNV sights! It's almost like a built-in wall hack!

Probably too much for the consoles to handle real thermal imaging simulation like ArmA2 has, so just reducing it and making daylight overexpose the scope would be great.
