Cevat Yerli's yearly complaints about piracy. Three years ago it was 20 to 1. He said sales were awful, but it exceeded estimates the first two weeks it was out. Two months later, it hit a million sold. He bitched again about piracy, but later admitted that the $22 million dollar game (!) was very profitable and went beyond 3 million units sold.
I don't think piracy is the issue here, I think it is market expectations and Cevat's penchant for disillusionment.
GTA4 - argurably one of the most pirated games in PC history - made TRIPLE it's budget of $100 million dollars on DAY ONE.
EAT IT, CEVAT! Maybe the console kiddies will buy you a coke.
