I've seen em on sale at Green Man Gaming. Possibly at getgamesgo as well.

Beth owns id now, and they are probably in charge of the pricing.

About the steam repeats, the repeats are mostly the flash and voted deals. I don't think the dailies have repeated themselves.

Dailies haven't repeated, but they show up again as flash sales/community votes. Which I, for one, am grateful for. Missed out on a couple that ended up hitting flash sales later.

Alright. Finally got a chance to play for a bit last night.
So far, I like what I see. Runs well, feels like a Descent game, and it's easy to get lost, which I actually like. One minor thing I've noticed, or rather not noticed, is being shot at. I'll be taking damage, and have no idea where it's coming from.
Can't comment on the story so far, as I'm not totally sure what's going on. All I know is that Russian forces are attacking for some reason.
Haven't tried a flight stick yet, nor a controller. Just using keyboard + mouse, and controls are quite nice. Mouse response is more like a FPS than a flight game, which works perfectly for it.
I think Descent fans are going to like this one.

I think I'll have a chance to play tonight. Got the alpha package ages ago, and they've done a ton just this year alone. For about the first year, it was mainly a tech demo. Cool to fire up every once in a while, but not worth playing for more than a few minutes. Last I tried it was a few patches ago, so they had one mission or so. Didn't put a lot into it since I've been waiting for release. Mission itself seemed cool, and difficulty was up there a ways.
So hopefully I'll be back later tonight with some more impressions.

Wait I thought the game from Roberts was Squadron 42? Am I that out of the loop?

I think I saw on RPS that Squadron 42 is the name of the single player portion.
Yep, here it is

I don't even want to count my damage.
Especially since its not done.

Since its the last day of the sale, today is the day to go over all the normal non-daily non-flash stuff on my wishlist and see what else to buy. Also to check the various publisher wide discounts and packs.

Edit:
Valve, protip:
It helps if your webpage is actually working and ya know, displays PRICING INFO on my wishlist!

Heh, I had that wishlist thing happen to me too. Just go back to the store, then wishlist again. Worked for me at least.

I didn't do too bad this sale. Thinking about still snagging a couple things, but I dunno. As is, I'll never get through all the games that I have.
Biggest surprise out of what I got was Bulletstorm. Had basically no interest in it before, but for $5, figured what the hell. Quite an enjoyable shooter so far. Fast and frenetic.

Oh yeah, any thoughts on Nuclear Dawn? Quite cheap, but not sure how the gameplay is. Seems similar to the Savage games, which were pretty cool.

Anyone know if those Batman DLC's can be used for a version that wasn't bought off of the Gamestop App? It says on there requires Gamestop, but aren't the DLC's tied to GFWL?
I may be totally wrong on that though

Edit: Dev, that would be nice. My son loves those games, and I've gotten em all over the place for him. Steam, D2D, Disk...would be nice to just get em all again on Steam. Have em nice and centralized.

Just an FYI for all those interested in Anno 2070. On sale over at Gamersgate for $20. Still on the fence about it myself, but that's the cheapest I've seen it so far.

Anybody know if the Thief collection will play on 64-bit multicore Windows 7?

Go Here

Here's an excellent thread to help with the Thief games. I've installed the fixes for T1 &T2, but haven't tried it for T3, as I don't have that one on steam. Anyway, it works great. Playing T1 with no problems.

I wanted to like it but heard it was buggy. If turning off 'gibs' completely fixes it I may be interested. Johnny five needs more input!

It's actually a really cool game. Been playing it off and on for a bit, and while the AI can be kinda simplistic, it's a fun game that has quite a bit of character customization. You can choose your loadout, and similar to Elder Scrolls, the more you use weapons, the better you get at them. Story is a touch confusing, due to the translation, but it's cool nonetheless.

That's how I felt about it until I tried the demo. Ends up being just a generic cover based shooter. Enemies just stand there until you shoot them, which is always annoying. The story and visuals are pretty good, but the overall gameplay was just 'bleh' to me.

Were you seriously expecting anything different? This thing has CoD clone written all over it.

Expecting? No. Hoping, yes.

Yep, that's the only reason I haven't gotten it, even for a price like that. Shame, really, cause I enjoyed the demo. Regardless, I'll wait for a cheaper price, or at least a change to the DRM (which I doubt will ever happen)

$5 for LA Noir. Still have no interest in buying it, even at that price. However, I'd still be willing to pay full price for Red Dead. Bastages.

Did pick up Arkham City though. $15 bucks was too good to pass up.

There was a Ferret in the first game? I remember the cat and the wolf/dog, I don't remember any ferrets. Nevermind, I haven't played in so long, now I'll have to go play it again. Oh and if I could get the ferret a hockey mask and a chainsaw, that would be perfect.

The ferret was a mod made by Runic.

Yes, can't wait for this to come out.

And to answer a bit about Path of Exile, it seems pretty interesting. Haven't played a lot yet, but it's cool. Looks nice, controls are good, and has some interesting mechanics. For one, the potion system is pretty awesome. Like Dungeon Siege, you only drink what you need, and also, your potions fill up as you kill enemies. Skills are derived from gems that you socket to your equipment. 'Normal' skill tree is somewhat all passive stuff. But it's freaking gigantic. Pretty overwhelming when you first look at it.
