Actually I had it running fine on an ancient Q6700 with 4 GB of RAM and a 4 GB RX470, installed on a SSD.
Day of the Tentacle: Special Edition would be beyond awesome. It is my favorite adventure game of all time.
But since there is a Lucas in LucasArts I bet we will be bombarded with Special Editions.

In cutscenes the 4:3 frame croppes to 16:9. It appears the game has been designed for that region.

The game does clip to 16:9 for cutscenes if you run it in 4:3. It discards the top and bottom as stated in the blog. It appears the game was designed for that 16:9 region.
Excellent art direction, excellent sound and great mature content. I was suprised it worked so well on my X2 3800+ with a GeForce 8800GTS 320mb. It runs smooth as butter in DX10 mode with 2gb RAM on Vista (steady 30 fps @ 1600x1200). Dual core really is a must as read in the README. nVidia users don't forget to download the beta driver from nZone.
Too bad I have to wait until friday for my pre-ordered Collector's Edition to arrive (Europe).
One small note is that of refresh rate. I couldn't modify it and 60hz isn't nice on a CRT.
