I wouldn't mind funding an MMO. For any decent MMO, you pay for the initial game anyway so what's the difference?

My problem with CU is it is just not interesting to me. I wouldn't mind a PVP-only game but this just looks like a rehash of DAoC (minus the PvE aspect). DAoC was pretty great back when it was first released, but that was 12 years ago. Also, maybe Mark Jacobs should have let someone else make the KS video on his behalf - he just doesn't seem like a likable guy to me.

Its biggest failure was the lack of a random map generator and/or editor. We'd all still be playing it if had that. Huge mistake not to do that. Huge.

Screw editor. It needed to be random. Enemy placement needed to be random and roving rather than 3 guys in the same places, sitting there until discovered, and occasionally teleporting in front of you. And it needed to stop showing that damn in-engine cinematic every single time you come across 3 new enemies. Every time. Every damn time!

I agree on the randomness and the cinematics...

I purchased it and sort of regret it. I played it from start to finish but would say it is certainly not worth full price.

I rarely do pay full price for a game but I didn't have anything to play when this was released so I nabbed it. Oh well.

I'm happy to see positive feedback on this game - I guess I'll pick it up. Too bad it isn't available for OSX, however.

I know the launch was shit, but is the game any good? From reading the comments here it seems like notsomuch. I should check metacritic, too, perhaps.

It'd be nice if you would include the game type in the article, Blue. This will help me determine if the article is relevant to my interest without leaving your site.

It's hard to make a phone call in an emergency because the brain draws blood from the hands to be used in more immediately important functions (survival.. etc). That's why the standard emergency services number was changed to 911 from 555-1212 as it was years ago. Nobody could dial the number. Hell, anyone who's been in an emergency knows it's difficult enough just to punch in that 911.

It helps to just dial it once a week or so without connecting. Just to train yourself to hit that 911. It apparently kicks in the muscle memory when the time comes for you to really dial it.

Not sure if serious...

That's irrational and an extremely thin argument. You and a few others are reading into something that isn't there and never was there, simply to justify your irrational whining.
You, sir, are the winner of this discussion. Your interpretation of reality is by far the weirdest shit i've read in this thread. You simple define the facts you have presented yourself as not existant, because these facts dont fit into your world view. Not bad, sir, not bad ...

Giving people only 12 days to register for their rewards is silly...

That's not exactly the case. You can register after the April 22nd date, but then you may not receive your rewards by the time the game launches. So they're doing us a courtesy by telling us the soft deadline for submission.

haha... didn't realize the entire city is all hipsters. Apparently after the 15 years I've been here I've been completely oblivious to the demographic here. Do you realize the amount of tech companies that are here? "Aren't worthy of taking your fiber"? Really? We'll let you know what gigabit speeds feels like next year.

BTW "Hipster" is considered a curse word to most people here. With the above comment, "Cutter" is working its way up there now too.

Are you surprised to see an idiotic comment come out of Cutter? The extremely rare times that he does say something intelligent or entertaining I just assume it's a freak accident or he copy/pasted someone else's words from another forum.

Will it be as awesome as the Steam browser which crashes 90% of the time I try to use it (because it can't handle the four billion flash ads seemingly on any given site)?

While I never use the steam browser, my son uses it quite heavily and never has any crashing issues that I'm aware of.

For me bioshock infinite plot is a masterpiece of writing. Everything in the game is so chalk full of meaning which the designers actually intended and you don't have to read into it to discover it.

I loved the music at first, but it grew horribly grating.

According to Steam I only played it 2 hours. That can't be right, though. I remember playing it for 3 or 4 days, but then hitting the "I've seen all there is to see" point. Then I went to Wikipedia and read the rest of the plot.

A very fun distraction that just got old quickly.
Just fired it up, made it through the first 10 chapters. Maybe that was just 2 hours.

Great, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this...

The only comments I could find on this game online were mostly praising it, but this game is definitely not without its faults.

Clearly it's an opinion thing. I loved the music and gameplay and longed for nothing different from the overall experience.

Speaking of ARMA3, does anyone have a free pass (or whatever is being offered at this time) that they can pass my way? I'll try to reciprocate from my gift inventory - which isn't that impressive but you never know.

Thanks!

(Yes, I'm talking about ARMA3 in a BF4 thread)

What games are you playing, Verno, with QTEs?

I mean, I guess the very last thing you do in Dishonored is arguably a QTE, and maybe you can argue that taking down a brute in SR3 was, but that's one button. In Dishonored it made perfect sense.

But it's been years, and I mean years, since I've seen games like the ones that were in the late era of the original Xbox where you'd be a superhero falling down a hole and have "Y" flash on the screen and need to hit, then "X", then "B", all in quick sequence like a damn rhythm game.

Like, seriously. I have not seen that in a game in years. Maybe I'm playing the wrong (err... right) games, but QTEs seem pretty much dead to me, but some people still complain. It reminds me of old people complaining about how much nu-metal sucks even though it's so far dead that no one even remembers any of the bands anymore. There are new things to hate.

Farcry 3 used QTEs a decent amount. Aside from that, I can't think of any recent games that do.

Huh? I agree with the article and Im trying to make sense of what Beamer said, locked crap makes devices cheaper?

So a cellphone that is locked to a single carrier (or account, person) is somehow magically cheaper than one thats unlocked (something that in most cases can be done with a software hack alone)....

Yes. Yes it does.

I don't get why it's a hard argument for you to comprehend, but then I remember all the stuff you couldn't comprehend in the atheism discussion and wonder why I didn't block you during that massive bout of failure-to-read.

Really struggling with you here. Look at how much it costs to buy a smartphone in Europe. Look how much it costs to buy one here. Do you see a huge difference? Yes, yes you do. The phone is cheaper. The plans cost more. You're saving on one very large upfront fee and instead getting it broken down over time. The phone is cheaper. The plan is not. Like with printers: the printer is cheaper, the ink is not.

Some people benefit from this. Some people do not. It depends on the buyer you are.

Can you link me the atheism thread? That sounds fun!
