There didn't seem to be any way to turn sprint OFF

Double press shift is the walk/run toggle. Most modifier keys work as a toggle if you double press them.

Well if you managed through Men of War's voice acting, I'm sure you can manage through this.

And the Shatner comparison, why didn't that ever pop into my head?

The first mod I installed for ArmA was one that disabled the radio commands and confirmations, they've always been notoriously dodgy going all the way back to Flashpoint 1985. I always compared them to those cut and pasted ransom notes that kidnappers make out of different newspaper and magazine letters.

There was a great mod that greatly lowered the verbosity of the radio system and added single context sensitive full sentences, I imagine something similar isn't too far off for the sequel.

Whenever I think of Novalogic, I think of the Comanche series. And whenever I think of the Comanche series, I think of Jane's Longbow and what an ass kicking it gave it.

Having gotten fed up with their constant reliance on their voxel engine (I bought a 3d card for a reason, ya numbskulls), it's fitting that my favorite Novalogic game is also one of the very few that didn't use voxels: Tachyon.

"Is this an add-on to Shadow Of Chernobyl or Clear Sky?"

I'm guessing it's going to be another stand alone expansion like Clear Sky was.

"people who own Tales of Valor and nothing else don't get to use something called "classic vehicles" which I'm not clear on what these are..."

I believe it refers to the new units replacing some of the units that appeared in the original and first expansion. Players of Tales of Valor who do not add product keys for Opposing Fronts and Company of Heroes cannot use the "original" units, only the new replacement ones.

I was poor at the time and still gaming with a Voodoo 1. (Paired with a Mach64 which had an amazing 1 meg of VRAM, try running Half Life on that)

That PC is around here somewhere, and as a testament to how things were better engineered back then, it *still* works fine.

in I-War 2, you spend it in a modified tug! (Go Puffer Class).

I remember so many people complaining that I-War 2 was way too hard, it was hard when you were stuck with the garbage tug, but once you got the PatCom and heavy corvette so you could finally defend yourself against incoming missiles and mount proper kit, it became much easier.

My favorite thing about I-War 2 was the multiple joystick support, I had a whole Steel Battalion thing going on cobbled together from a pair of flightsticks, a throttle (Which I gutted and "integrated" into the left flightstick, buttons and all, the end result was something like a SpaceOrb 360 except big, ugly and extremely scary looking) and 3 pedals, to fully control the ship while in combat. I even broke out the tools and built a special clamping rig out of spare timber to fix all the controllers in place and give the whole thing some extra immersion.

As far as I know, double joystick support is also available in X3, however the combat isn't as exciting.

People do play UT3. Many just don't play it much online because the bot play is so good. I play UT3 at least three times a week for some quick matches but rarely online.

Good point, I'm guilty of that myself though in a slightly different variation: I like to play human vs bot LAN matches with a couple of friends.

The bit in the installer EULA read as follows:

"You may make copies of the Software
for your personal noncommercial home entertainment use and to give to
friends and acquaintances on a no cost noncommercial basis. This
limited right to copy the Software expressly excludes any copying or
distribution of the Software on a commercial basis, including,
without limitation, bundling the product with any other product or
service and any give away of the Software in connection with another
product or service. "

The problem is that the game also copied another EULA on a text file from the CDs after installation, which was slightly different and didn't include the "friends" clause that the installer EULA had:

"The Software, including, without limitation, all code, data structures,
characters, images, sounds, text, screens, game play, derivative works and
all other elements of the Software may not be copied, resold, rented,
leased, distributed (electronically or otherwise), used on a pay-per-play,
coin-op or other for-charge basis, or for any commercial purpose. Any
permissions granted herein are provided on a temporary basis and can be
withdrawn by Interplay Productions at any time. All rights not expressly
granted are reserved."

*Laughs* One of the most unintentionally funny parts of Mafia, and something I still laugh profusely at whenever I see it is being chased by the cops while going up a hill, with both your and the police cars slugging uphill at less than 5 miles per hour while pedestrians are zipping by on the sidewalks, this coupled with the fast paced big band soundtrack. It was like something straight out of Benny Hill.
