I may be missing something here, but I've seen lots of Squiers and Pacificas that cost less than that, and that's with a practice amp included.

By fan 1.13 patch, do you by chance mean JA2mod 1.13? Because if not, you really gotta try it. You'll never want to go back to the original game.

Is Tales of Valor worth getting at that price? From what I hear it doesn't add much.

Only if you're interested in the multiplayer side of things, it didn't really add anything worthwhile to single player, only a couple of campaigns you can clear in a single sitting.

Henricksen kicks ass.

good for him!

now, if we could just bring him back as Frank Black...

Glad I'm not the only one who remembers Millennium, that show had great potential.

Here I was thinking that you would be playing a taxi driver who picks up zombies, drives them to a zombie swarm. and then picks them up when they've finished eating brains.

From the name, I always figured the game was about a zombie who drove a car and ran over normal humans.

"You're off the case, McGarnagle!"

"You're off YOUR case, chief!"

"What does that mean, exactly?"

"Well McGarnagle, Billy is dead! They slit his throat from ear to ear."

"Hey I'm trying to eat lunch here!"

Great campaign, I hope the team behind this works out all the bugs and finishes the finale map sometime soon.

Something I've been wondering: Does anyone know if all these custom campaigns will work on Left 4 Dead 2?

All I know is: If there was regenerating health back in Quake, I would have been unstoppable, most of my deaths were due to moochers nailgunning me when I had 20 health and on my way to the nearest health box.

In a fast deathmatch environment, knowing where all the health was and controlling it by memorizing respawn timings made a considerable difference over those who didn't. Personally, I miss those days.

About the lack of dedicated servers: I'm still not clear on whether they mean the game will work using listen servers, or a private client-server infrastructure managed by Activision working via lobbies a la Left 4 Dead. If it's the former, I weep for whoever attempts to host a 16 player free for all on 384 kbps upload.

Mouse and keyboard is fine, there is a Freelancer style control option in addition to the clickable HUD.

Phooey, Don't Stop Me Now is my favorite Queen track but I guess it wouldn't make a good Rock Band song until some kind of over sized plastic keyboard peripheral is added.

It's also not really a floor, it's more of a steel grating that allows material to sluice through so it can be collected and exported.

Quick Time Event, a name most usually credited to Shenmue.

*Edit* As to what they are: They are almost always presented as a way to give non interactive sequences and cutscenes some degree of interaction by making the player input directional commands at key moments. If you've ever played Dragon's Lair or any of the other Don Bluth animated games, that's basically it.

I'd love to try out some custom L4D1 campaigns that are good quality. Which ones do you reccomend?

I would recommend Night Terror, Coal'd Blood, Death Aboard, 7 Hours Later and Heaven Can Wait. There is also a small 1 map campaign called Dam It which will net you about 20 or 30 minutes of play time.

You can find them either at l4dmaps.com or l4dmods.com

I feel no pity for this company at all; I was on their site responding to some of the issues the game is having with the latest 2.43 patch. I made a comment that this is why I will not buy this game because the support is bad and the DRM issues. So they banned me from the forums saying it was piracy. These guys are a fricking joke.

I never said I pirated their crappy game I was asking question and reading about everyone else’s issues how they broke the game with the latest patch. How in the hell does saying you won’t buy the game relate to me pirating it? It doesn’t and this is exactly why they are out of business... They continually treat their fan base like a bunch of pirates and are ban happy. I had been waiting to see if they would drop the limited activations so I could buy a copy but they never did and banning me only resolved my decision to never buy this game. So I’m glad they are gone. I know someone has bought them out and will probably fall under a new name but Ascaron can blow me they are a bunch of assholes!

I've got one even better: I actually bought Sacred at launch, was getting constant crashes with the out of the box version, posted on their forums seeking a solution and got banned for piracy. While I won't judge an entire company based on that experience, the moderators that ran the forums really were a bunch of paranoid dumbasses.

The only thing I got out of that experience is that a DVD doesn't hold up very well against a 20 gauge loaded with #8s, and that I'm not very good at trap shooting.

Mouse support?

From Andrew Burnes over at VE3D:

"Supposedly you lose the laser sight when using a mouse, and are instead given a crosshair."

Sounds like you need a dose of Steel Battalion

Steel Battalion is nothing like what you were replying to.

I just started playing Shadowgrounds. That's pretty cool.

Try the sequel too, it's more of an expansion pack but builds upon the first game nicely, one of those rare times where the sequel is better than the original.
