According to my power company the power in my area comes from:

80.5% Hydroelectric
9.2% Nuclear
4.9% Coal
3.1% Wind
1.8% Natural Gas
0.5% Other

Living near a big ass river helps with the whole clean energy thing.

Zenimax involved in a lawsuit where they are the ones being sued? That's different from the weekly lawsuits they file against others I suppose.

The whole Eastern Texas bench needs to be cleared.

It's stupid. They've carved a niche out for themselves, and the whole region makes out quite handsomely. There was an article a while back about all the new construction, the beautiful courthouse, etc. etc. paid for off the backs of all the lawyers and corporate witness forced to travel and stay there. They shouldn't be able to create a financial incentive for themselves that influences them finding in favor of patent trolls.

Also, always buy NewEgg.

I saw a video one guy did kind of investigating this shit. He went to the town, to the address where all these businesses are "registered" so that they can be in the district, and it's just a building with a receptionist and a couple dozen empty offices where no one actually works.

Could probably find it by digging around.

President Annoying Orange now apparently believes that the reason these 44 states aren't complying is that they are afraid it will prove he won the popular vote:

White House officials told Fox News on Tuesday that states weren’t cooperating with the commission because they are “concerned they will find fraud” which will “raise doubts about Hillary Clinton winning the popular vote.”

Yes, dumbass, all those Republican controlled states just want to make Hillary Clinton look good...

That's a HOW question (e.g. "How do stars fuse hydrogen into helium?). The WHY question is, why are there stars? Science can't answer that, but the Bible can.

Is an answer worth anything if you can't vet the source and have no reason to believe it is true?

That's called faith. There are plenty of scientists who have put their faith in a variety of theorems, including string theory, that they base on sources that aren't vetted or proved. So whether spiritual or scientific, faith "is the assured expectation of what is hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities that are not seen." (Hebrews 11:1) Admittedly, we can agree upon that, I would think.

I'd say it's a very different kind of faith. It's the kind of faith you have in a friend. You hope they are a good friend and will work out, but if they fail to show it, you're not going to hang out with them anymore. The longer a theory goes on without delivering results, the less and less people who believe it has any worth, and they move on. Especially when they are competing with other ideas that are having more success.

String theory, for example, has been getting trounced by the Standard Model for a while now. The SM has had the Higgs field, Gravitational waves, etc. String theory just hasn't been shown to map onto reality yet. None of its predictions have been experimentally shown yet. It's not quite hopeless yet, but it may very well end up in the garbage bin.

That's the fundamental difference between science and religion: A willingness to admit when the facts don't add up. Religion makes claims and then says they can be neither confirmed nor disproved. Of course individual scientists are people and have egos and some will cling to ideas more strongly than others. But that's why other scientists are there to keep them honest.

Yes. Like when documentaries on the sun explain with absolute certainty that the star will go supernova in a few billion years hence. The Bible states another thing to is contrary. It all comes done to faith? I'd rather put my faith in the Bible's positive look into future than in man's negative look into the future. Eventually, humanity will know who was correct.

Actually, the sun is going to end up being a white dwarf, and then trillions of years later, maybe a black dwarf. It's not big enough to become a black hole, or make a supernova. But details aside, strange that you should pick such a manifestly proven scientific fact as an example of "faith." We know what the sun is going to do because we know the lifecycle of stars extremely well. Before the sun explodes, we're also going to merge with the Andromeda galaxy. That isn't faith, we can observe it moving towards us.

The interesting thing is that it's being resisted by both Dem and Repub states. This is being architected by Chris Kobach of Kansas, and even Kansas is refusing to participate.

If I had to hazard a guess as to the motivations, I'd say that the Democrats are resisting because, obviously, they don't want to be seen as helping Trump's stupidity along. The Republicans are resisting because their voter base, despite often being Trump supporters, distrust the federal government and wouldn't take kindly to them handing over their personal info. Plus they just don't have anything to gain from compliance.

Uh, what? The GOP controls most of the state legislatures, right? The GOP vice chair of the commission, who is the Kansas Secretary of State, is among those saying he won't give up all the information requested. Of course he then claimed the commission wasn't requesting the information he couldn't, by law, provide. Too bad they had already sent out the letters saying otherwise.

Literally neutronium.

But you notice how all his comments treat US politics like its some kind of sports game and not actual life and death for some people? That's precisely the reason that Trump could shoot a reporter in the head during a live press briefing and still never go below 25% approval rating. All that matters is he has an (R) after his name, even if he's completely useless to implementing a Republican agenda.

Wait, are you saying there is a record of whom I voted for? That would be news to me. A record of which primaries and elections I did vote in, sure. But not who I voted for. So, they can't publicly condemn me for voting for or against candidate XYZ.

How are they going to use the information to suppress the vote? Again, not saying they can't, just looking to understand how they would, other than my previously mentioned support for voter id laws.

So by deadheads1969 illogic the dems control 41 states. I'm sure that we all await his next vomitus with the utmost of anticipation. Not

44 states now, article got updated. Poor leadpaintchips1969 just can't fathom why anyone wouldn't want to suck Trump's dick unless they are just being partisan.
