....omg you can't be serious? Who didn't expect this to happen?!

the uninformed consumer - and face it, MOST consumers are uninformed.

is gamestop taking money for pre-orders? if they are i bet you they're making interest on the money.

One where you're a freedom-fighter in a guerilla war against foreign invaders.

The gameplay would be very challenging, lone person or small squads taking out forces that would kick your butt if you didn't fight smart.

I can imagine the media outcry right now.

"who cares.

I suspect that the people who are most offended by this never intended to buy the game anyway"

I was going to buy it, I will not.

A line needs to be drawn and held, because otherwise it gets pushed small steps at a time until as consumers we get completely fucked over.

I can understand advertising being necessary to subsidize a product to make profitable, but what we have here is EA being GREEDY.

I am not getting any added 'value' for the price I am paying to justify being served advertisements in addition to what I would pay.

The interface designers need to sit down and play this game. Then .. let's couch this in terms that won't offend.. FIX it.

how many of those PS2 owners would be wishing they had saved a bit and bought a 360 later.

I see it more like this.

For X amount of dollars you can buy last generation of hardware and get all your games for free OR

you can pay X*2 for cutting edge technology yet also have to pay for your games.

Since the hardware is sold at a loss, i think it would be more relevant to look at game purchases ratio per console sold.

5. content blocking May 18, 2006, 14:49 Bard

if anyone thinks the bush government is adding 'content blocking' for anything other than a way to prevent reporters from being able to disseminate information that goes against the official propaganda you're fooling yourself.

Propaganda only works when it's the only source of information.

it would be too risky to say 'Study finds that prayer does not affect healing' - this way it's just that the study didn't FIND it.

*points to xbox 360*

for those who are well and truly tired of the tweak cycle.

wonder how well the 360 version will do for extra user made content.

I haven't stopped playing this sim since it's original release.

It's good by itself - but when you start getting involved in 30-40 player online battles based on historical events this sim shines.

I was really looking forward to purchasing this - but starforce lost them this sale.

I bought Galactic Civilizations 2 instead.

starforce = NO interest in the title at all.

it's a trojan no matter how they justify disabling software that is , in THEIR opinion, only used by hackers.

5. wow... that dude is clueless... Jan 31, 2006, 11:09 Bard

Planetside was decent...

but swg and EQ were just about the WORST gaming experiences I'd ever had - games are meant to be fun, not tedium.

I guess this is his way of spinning the movement of people away from their products to WoW and others, might give the shareholders a warm fuzzy feeling.

23. Re: Cool Oct 27, 2005, 09:02 Bard

F4AF has surpassed the quality of all other versions of community modded falcon. It's the most reliable and most stable and that is a fact that cannot be denied even by it's biggest detractors.

What it hasn't surpassed are some of the extra features added by community modifications.

The user community can release free mods for F4AF, but understandably the owners wish to ensure that any of these mods do not affect stability and wish to ensure that they themselves do not create later patches that break these modifications by requiring them to be submitted and authorised.
