1. To Sony's Tretton... Jun 13, 2009, 12:03 Bard

... confidentiality is used to hide the fact that there are problems with products.

If you didn't make crap you wouldn't be worried about people talking.

How about gamers being sick and tired of the issues most DRM introduces to operating system stability and security and pirates can download the same game without the DRM and not suffer problems.

96. Buy it or download warez copy? Nov 29, 2008, 00:31 Bard

Why is it that people who are willing to fork over the money to buy the product have to deal with all this extra bullshit that pirates don't?

It's gotten stupid.

Wow - look at all the anal retentive arse-hatting

I've not had this much fun playing co-op since... quake.

Superbly executed throughout and not a problem to complain about.

I don't walk through stores and hear people talking about the DRM

I do... and amongst my gamer friends the DRM scheme is the next thing we discuss after finding out about it.

I won't be buying anything with DRM.

Here in Canada most forms of DRM on software are currently illegal. We are allowed to "Create a FULLY FUNCTIONAL backup of software purchased".

Until my consumer rights are guaranteed I won't purchase DRM protected software products.

Why not have a shooter where you go after the NEOCONS and their blackwater uber evangelist private army?

Travel the world countering MOSSAD false flag operations, preventing their blowing up of skyscrapers and aircraft and blaming it on other people?

Locate and defuse bombs planted during a terrorist exercise by MI-5.

Chase and hunt down Rupert Murdoch and bring him and other 'news' moguls to justice

65. DRM = fail Sep 15, 2008, 08:56 Bard

I am legally allowed by Canadian law to make a "fully functional backup" of every piece of software I buy.

All DRM schemes stop my ability to do that - either through making copies not work or making their operation reliant on some form of remote authentication that will work only so long as that auth structure exists.

god knows the COD4 multiplayer SUCKS.

I'd prefer a multiplayer co-op with a single player storyline.

BS the flight sim genre is dead.. lol. The flight GAME one might be but we have 2 top quality flight sims in the works, 1 more from a development group that are new to simming but seem to have a clue and 1 more from a shovelwear outfit that might have finally gotten their shit together.

Oh these are all COMBAT flight sims - bugger the civvy ones.

It makes sense to go steam, and it's a lot easier than hoping your local computer store has what you're looking for.

It's fake terror, the timing of it (with Israel inflicting a holocaust on Palestinians RIGHT NOW) is just a little too convenient.

These fuckers have no qualms about killing thousands of US citizens just to start their war - and the media has no qualms about making the wholesale slaughter and ethnic cleansing by Israel appear 'just'.

2. pity slashdot getting it wrong.. Feb 16, 2008, 10:38 Bard

A normal windows update, not SP1, caused the lockup of *drumroll* - at least one user.....

Lets completely ignore that the cause is not yet known and it could very easily have been something like a shoddy application or driver that hung it.

Slashdot really is going down the toilet.
