This is unlawful under the European convention on human rights - which the UK government wants to get rid of, because terrorism. I don't think this is the sort of "fighting terrorism" that they want people to know they'd be legalising.

Yes. They will try to fight their war into perpetuity because terrorism is just a tactic, not an actual enemy. They can re-label additional enemies at their whim. The point of the war is to dominate and control when beforehand it would have been illegal under their own laws and contrary to the rationale for their governance.

... for the enrichment of the power elite.

So in other words they're paid to troll. Jesus, these sorts of endeavors are not only a massive waste of money, they're sadly laughable.

More likely they are paid to signal boost the gov agenda, which by the way is called... you guessed it, propaganda So the UK now officially has a Ministry of Truth with army branch

Too much truth is making its way around social media - this is a direct attempt to subvert that increasing awareness.

if password hashes are taken it's only a matter of time before a good majority of them (users being users and all) will be recovered.

CSE spying goes against the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

This is going to be a political shitstorm for Harper - and the conservatives.

I remember when I bought a video game, I installed it, it worked, didn't require an internet connection for solo play (or even during a LAN) and I could play it regardless of whether the publishing company went tits up.

These days I spend my money on tabletop gaming instead because I am sick and tired of the DRM and money grubbing.

Another Star Citizen post for the haters to gather around.
How can there be so much vitriol towards a game that someone feels they have to spew on it every time there is a post?
What wasted emotion...

Let the hate flow through you.

Haters gotta hate - premature ejaculation and all...

I can't watch any of the main news stations these days without being buried under pro-war anti-muslim anti-truth propaganda.

Computer games on the other hand, aren't responsible for killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people.

Maybe there needs to be a refocus from computer games to those doing the brainwashing that enables the complete nonsense that's going on in the real world.

So when Iran does it, they be bad. But the U.S. foreign policy is the exact reason they would do any of this apparent hacking stuff, if they actually did it. First the U.S. authorized the illegal overthrow of Iran's leader in 1953, then the CIA's puppet leader Shah falls from power in 1979 when fundamentalists became furious when they found what the U.S. did to Iran. Then the Iran/Contra Scandal in which CIA figures lied under oath, THEN giving Iraq chemical weapons and arms to be used on Iran during the Iraq-Iran war.

The U.S. shall reap what it has sown.

The sad fact of the matter is that the US and Israel instigated a cyberwar vs Iran. Whether Iran has retaliated, or whether people pretending to be Iran retaliated, or if the media is just making this stuff up is all pretty much the propaganda of the day these days.

If anything these days, we know not to trust claims in the media demonising targets of mass destruction/profit.

hmm, I think maybe the US and Israel might learn that starting digital warfare against Iran is going to have some major blowback.

New Zealand really shouldn't be considered a country anymore, they're the 51st state. Lots of corruption in New Zealand politics.

You know, I'm sure a lot of people in both New Zealand and Australia would be angry that you'd say they are so influenced by the US that they should be a state. If anything, they would be a part of Australia. But they aren't, for obvious reasons.

Have you ever even been there?

And how could they possibly be more influenced than, say, Canada?

The Aussie Prime Minister was overthrown in a coup orchestrated by the US and Israel - with Israel's Mossad Station Chief's girlfriend becoming the Prime Minster back in 2010.

Yes, the US is, as is usual, screwing with the internal politics of other countries, and replacing those politicians daring to call them or Israel out (as PM Rudd had done regarding Israel's use of Aussie passports in their assassination of nationals in other countries activities).

To even think otherwise is to have no awareness of world history for the past 60 years.

Yes, but I have been "married with children" for years. The difference is that I bought a house last year where as I had been an adamant apartment renter for the previous 20 years. Houses have a way of sucking up your money and time, particularly the first few years you are in them and trying to take them from being a house to being a home.

all too familiar

It was really hard to get businesses to take information security seriously before the Snowden release - accountants would make IT decisions (why not ask the janitor!) and 'the cloud' became one of their mantras. Now even they know better.

Cloud = bad security.

It is quite possible, and with all the dirty tricks coming out of the US government and US corporations I would consider it LIKELY, that he was framed.

Hell, with all the backdoors being left in our tech products at the order of the NSA (heartbleed was NOT a bug.. it was an NSA backdoor discovered by organized crime and foreign intelligence agencies so needed to be 'replaced' with a new and improved back door) you can't even be assured that configuring your systems for no remote access will result in no remote access.

We live in a world today where, if you screw with the power elite, you can be framed and the law does not matter one whit. Look at what they've done to Assange.
