I think the complaint from Eidos is that MS owns the consumer as opposed to Eidos.

Essentially MS stand to earn money from subscriptions driven by content Eidos create, without enough of a kickback to them.

I would imagine there's an element of control there too, but I think money is the bigger issue.

(Just to clarify, the point I'm trying to make is that Eidos and EA aren't trying to make life better for us, they're after more cash. They're probably about as "evil" as MS are, in terms of market control, IMHO)

Nice work LE, looking forward to playing this. After playing with the (naughty) E3 leak, I was pretty much sold on the idea (and I've bought it, because I'm not an angst-ridden fourteen year old, and have a job.)

It's certainly not bad PR. Intel and MS have/had a close relationship because it made good business sense at the time. I do think that the only people who keep this bizarre Mac vs PC fight alive are Mac evangelists - I'm certainly happy using whatever computer you throw at me!

Snappy2Stroke: The key would be to price it so that the 80% people felt they were getting fair value and wouldn't have to steal

Absolutely. DVDs and music CDs are wildly overpriced (at least they are in the UK, I'm assuming it's the same elsewhere). Also, I don't recall being paid in the millions for each piece of work I do, maybe some cuts could be made elsewhere?

Sounds like Hollywood is trying to steal our cake and eat it...

Worst case scenario? Hollywood crumbles - so what? The indie scene would flourish; it certainly wouldn't be the end of civilisation. Viva la revolution!

Probably as annoying as having to 'break' the connectivity in the first place.

I use Trillian, but only for ICQ and MSN - I haven't updated my version. I guess it would tick me off if I had to...

Just to put the final(?) nail in it's coffin:
iframe is standard html 4.01:

And if you create a frameset, with a standard frame's src set to "file://c:\" Opera shows your HD too.

Haven't found a way to get NS to do it yet.

Yup - I rarely play online, and tend to stick to using PODBot and a mate on my other computer. CS:CZ will have more advanced bots, too (isn't the designer of the PODBot writing them?)

Woo, look at all the brave disparaging anons. If this wasn't a professional news site, blue wouldn't have corrected it.

It's not like it was "breaking" news either, being, as it was, in etc. Now, could you be good little boys and return to the shack, where lame comments are a matter of course? Thanks.

Well, I for one am over the moon to hear this! I only have a modem, so I usually play offline or on the lan. The bots in the new q3a mod Hunt are fantastic, btw.

It does take a bit of practice - but there's a button that locks you onto a target, along with a directional-look button (which is more useful to face you in a direction once - you just tap it).

Once you get used to it, it's well worth it.

*sigh* But that would mean we'd be left with nVidia, and as much as I love their cards, I wouldn't love prices twice as high as they are now.

Besides, JC isn't saying that ATI sucks, he's saying that automatic optimisation in the aim of getting more preferable reviews sucks. Competition's is a good thing, but cheating hurts everybody. Don't they teach you anything at school?

1952, but not through any skill...
Kinda like the "moving the mouse out the right" technique; if you draw the hand back to the right, then press the right mouse (bringing up the context menu), the flash pauses. Just left-click on the left of the monkey's face, and see what you end up with.

I have a crappy ball mouse and the movement cranked down, so I can only get 52 normally :/
