Samsung’s smart ring might signal the start of a new wearable era.

It might. It also might just be a metal hoop. It also may never get made. They didn't say a single thing about it, so saying its going to start a "new wearable era" is a bit premature.

You physically could not get past the EULA's on the Steam deck? Weird.

Nope. Not with any buttons, the touch screen, switching to desktop mode (mine is still running the stock OS) and trying, nothing worked. I guess normally I would have tried a peripheral at that point, but the whole reason I brought the deck was to minimize what all I was traveling with. Zero issues once I got back home and got past all that. It is the only major annoyance I have had with the deck and still recommend them to anyone who can work with the somewhat (obviously game dependent) short battery life.

I would have liked to have been one of the players counting for BG3, but unfortunately I was going to be away from my PC for some time and I hoped to play it on the Deck. Sadly, no luck. I love my deck and it sounds like the game runs fine once you actually get into it, but I kept getting stuck on my myriad of EULAs and invites to join Larian newsletters and buy their other titles. Seemly nothing could get past them.

It is actually the only title (that indicated support anyway) to give me trouble with my SD so far.

Yeah if I’d checked who I was replying to I would have got it, but without checking the username I never know what to expect in an EGS thread.

The wording may be slightly different but that is the same as iOS. You get always allow, allow once, or deny.

That said I leave location services on for several apps that I obviously understand why they need it. Maps, Find My, etc. Other stuff I definitely leave off. Far too many sites and apps prompt for location access for no reason and yeah that is a bit creepy.

Imo making SP games have COOP or MP *ALWAYS* makes the core player experience worse.....

I think at least having coop is nice in the majority of single player focused games. In SimCity style games though? Not so much.

I still think it can work, but it just needs to be totally optional.

Well, you're just fucked because the US doesn't believe in strong consumer protections. Corporations Uber Alles!

This is currently Nintendo’s policy in other regions such as North America, but this new development means it now extends to the EEA (which is the EU plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), the UK and Switzerland.

Losers review-bomb, it’s what they do.
There have been positive instances of review bombing in protest of publisher or developer practices.

People have given negative reviews to things that deserved a negative review, sure. Review bombing is mostly just bandwagon behavior by people who very often haven’t even played the game they are reviewing. Any good that results is more likely to be coincidence than cause.

the problem with destiny is its still difficult for me to figure out where I can go.. where I should be going..

This is kind of the issue with me. I am not a huge Destiny fan but there is enough there for me to enjoy every now and then. However, every time I try to start playing again it seems like they have changed everything, redone the entire story, and fundamentally changed basic mechanics.

I'm just wondering how those who really enjoyed the game felt how it 'played'. I couldn't deal with it for more'n a hour or so. Felt clunk af.

While it wasn’t a perfect game by any means, the big issue for me was the camera. It was just bad. That and it was far enough into the era of 3d games with good camera mechanics that it really stood out as bad.

Dude the Steam Deck is equivalent to a *weak* gaming laptop. That's why it's so cheap. I mean the thing runs at 720p for chrissake, you think *that's* going to replace a proper gaming rig?

I mean for that screen size I don’t know that 720 is a huge sacrifice in the first place. Now if you are docking it to larger display, sure I get that, but on a 7” (ish I guess, I don’t remember if that is the exact dimensions) display that isn’t really a negative.

I would say go for it. Most of the criticism for the game was downright unfair.

I can’t speak for the game at launch because I didn’t pick it up until we’ll after, but I thought it ended up being quite a good (if still somewhat buggy) game that received an undeserved amount of criticism.

Would I have thought that I’d I got the game at launch? I can’t say, but I liked what I ultimately played several patches later.

Terrible, I almost fell asleep during the tutorial. And watching my horsemen stop moving while they slowly swing their sword and a little tick comes off the health bar of the fleeing enemy now 20 yards away... What year is this?

The tutorial is rather boring (not that tutorials in strategy games are known for all that much excitement) and several of the early levels. This is mainly to do with the unit speed upgrades being required before the game units feel like they move at the proper speed and that you can bring micro into play.

As far as the horsemen stopping thing, I don't know if that was in a beta version, you were playing on a potato, or what. I didn't give the game a go until it had been out for a fair bit, but I haven't seen that.

I enjoyed it. Decent (though not great) game for an under served genre in my opinion.

I don’t know anything about this one, but some virtual card games of late have been pretty good. The Hand of Fate games and Slay the Spire for example.
