It is not a mainstream viewer friendly show. Very hard to get into if you have no idea what you are getting into.

I can see why that would be an issue for people. The original "Hexer" actually started with Geralt's childhood, showing him being mutated, and for the most part is in chronological order. The foundation they have in this season is a definitely a different structure for the primer, but I think the next seasons are going to hit their strides more with the Saga itself and more clearly defined objectives about why Ciri is wanted and why Geralt protects her.

The Witcher books really don't spend a lot of time explaining things, stuff just exists because that's how the world is. In comparison with the same fantasy stuff that exists in Lord of The Rings or Wheel of Time, the later spend a lot of exposition describing almost everything, which I found highly tiresome, but they were entertaining nonetheless.

Probably because the series isnt that great.

GTFO of here. The series is awesome.

It's awesome, finally starting to watch it. I've waited a damn long time for the live-action of the books so it's literally a dream come true for me, the story of Renfri for example was spot on. Plus I don't see why people wouldn't want to know the original story of Ciri, Yenn, and Geralt. You get so much more out of those games when you do. I rate those books way higher than other popular fantasy like LoTR or Wheel of Time, which are cool in their own ways.

I'm holding off watching it since I'm trying to finish other stuff, but I did sneak peak at least 10 minutes of the first episode and it was almost exactly like one of the short stories about Renfri and the Mage Stregobor. Really good Medieval set and costume designs.

To be honest I like it a lot better than the new Star Wars trilogy. I couldn't place my finger on it for a while, but I think it's just that there are too many main characters stories they try to cram in 3 movies, trying to do the double duty of original characters and new. Characters like Poe Dameron for example should not be main characters, Wedge certainly wasn't, they could have simply created games, tv shows, etc. with characters like that (the "aces" that survive). While there are plenty of characters in The Mandalorian, the focus is largely the Lone Samurai and his Cub.

You have a game to play quests, we don't need to see it in live action.

Any member of an organized religion wins hands down.

Pretty much. Organized religion is how Joan of Arc, an innocent girl and hero, ended up being burned alive.

Eh what's up with the Andrzej is a dick mentatlity, it's like a bad meme at this point. It's his work and universe. It was pretty cool seeing Hissrich interview him and invite him to the Witcher set.

I expected it to be milqetoast average, not bad. Although, my dream MechWarrior game would actually innovate with the franchise. With VR these days, if it was built from the ground up with an interactive cockpit and fully unlocked aiming that would be sweet. I suspect the game will be around for a while and be added to by modders if people are able to tinker with the game code.

You know, I have no idea what's going on with Warcraft lore at this point since Warcraft III. They make pretty cool cinematics though. If Blizzard made a full fledged Warcraft Singleplayer aRPG looking like that would be cool.
