why even bother with this, why not patch and make UC better (if that is possible).
Remember that he's kinda miffed enough at Dreamcatcher to not want to support the game very much. If the game sells really well, he does good since he makes money but he also does bad since the court case he has against Dreamcatcher relies on the game doing badly. If it does badly though, then he and his company are financially screwed. So what to do? Simple - announce your next game. Of course this doesn't make sense either - why buy UC when UC2 is coming. Why buy UC2 when he didn't support UC worth a crap.

I just wonder - if his games are reviewed badly and sell badly (so bad that new publishers put them right in the cheap bin) then how has he managed to stay afloat this whole time? I mean, he worked on BC3000AD for seven years - surely he had a day job? Or did he? Where the hell is this guy getting his money from?

And has anyone found a second picture of him? How do we know he even exists? Maybe he's like the authors of Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew novels - just a braintrust to release bad games under...

...one of PC Gamer's awards for best game of 2003? And it's not released yet? How does that work?

Yeah, but there are still great games coming down the pike. The herd's just thinning a little.
Well perhaps that's why. People are willing to buy DOOM 3, Battlefield Vietnam, Far Cry, UT2004 and the other ten great games this year, but they might not be willing to buy other games, or have the money after the upgrades to play above said games.

Me personally I'm picking up The Longest Journey for $10 at Target tonight.

Well actually I'm on the impression that BG&E sold like hotcakes when good word of mouth coupled with a drop to $20 made it a hot commodity (though I don't have numbers to back this up). Many half-ass selling games get sequels (NOLF comes to mind), it's the really bad selling ones which tend to go nowhere.

On the Shack they speculate that the actual name will change - which means that this bit of calling it "Goldeneye 2" is pretty much a way to get our attention now. Also realize that the "mix" of people who made Goldeneye work so well are not involved in this project - and they're not involved with Rare anymore either. Rare's games in recent years - like Grabbed by the Ghoulies and Starfox Adventures, haven't been so hot (even Perfect Dark was a bit of a letdown) and companies formed by ex-Rare-ers (like the Time Splitter games) stink, too.

He was on this morning in Dallas. Is the story wrong?
Depends on if you listen to a Clear Channel station - like KEGL is. Funny thing is, this morning they spent the whole show pissing and moaning on what they're not allowed to do anymore - then launched into "Aks My Momma" where you win a prize if your mom answers the horribly personal sexual question the same way you do.

Star Wars Galaxies does appeal to the casual gamer - most average people like the idea of "living" in the Star Wars universe. The problem is - it doesn't appeal to them enough to buy into the idea. But yeah, with their subscriber base (more than established leader EQ) there's more demand there.

Given that this is the group (Blue's posters) that shit on Unreal II endlessly and then praised the XMP pack when it came out, I'll be real interested to see how this demo fares...

oh yeah I forgot - there was going to be that American McGee's Alice movie, then suddenly there wasn't. Now we're supposed to believe this OZ movie is going to come to fruition?

well more importantly - he's not going to win. Even if the Democrats take back the White House, he's not going to be the guy. I's going to be Dean, Edwards or Kerry. Ergo, he's just another stuffed shirt trying to get some attention.

Plus, remember Lieberman is the guy who headed up those senate hearings in the early 1990's. However, we had Tipper Gore's husband in the White House for eight years and music censorship didn't become a huge deal, so I don't care what Lieberman says right now - it won't make a difference.

It is hilarious, though, that GTA3/GTA:VC were released years ago, but they don't make a big stink until an election year. Remember that.

Don't care as long as we get a DVD version right off the start

I dunno if you were stating the obvious or what you want to be true, but:

http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=645577

Comes on 2 DVD's - one of the game and a second of videos on how to mod UT2003 (and 2004 I presume)

Knight Rider 2 will address much of the customer feedback received on the first Knight Rider game as well as add many new features, which will improve the gameplay dramatically whilst maintaining the authentic atmosphere of the series
They're acting like this is Microsoft Money or some Office product where they can be rewarded for incremental changes. I don't think gamers will put up with this notion.

No, in their defense, "Jihad" was one of the modes in the original FvF Quake (circa 1997). "Purge" was another.

If you want to go off on capitalizing on current events, see Desert Combat (though that's not a commercial product)

Hasn't this game been on Xbox for a couple of years now? I always wondered why no one noticed it. Hell, no one noticed 2 but that was because Dreamcast was nearly dead.

Actually there's a really good chance that it could be worse. DJV, surprisingly, was a good wrestling game. Say what you want about the characters and theme, but the engine was solid.
Perhaps he meant that Wu-Tang game...
