In this context, the source code refers to the code used to make the binaries, not the game content, so you still need the PAK files from an original copy of Quake 3.

But on the upside it's like $10 in jewel case form these days.

Erm, seriously?

The game was released in 2000. It was re-released in 2004 in a jewel case. And as far as I can tell, Celeris basically went dormant.

Guess not.

Actually I think it uses the C drive to decompress files and then installs to the drive of your choice. You should notice you get all the space back off of C.

That week's Chappelle's Show featured a sketch that parodied anti-drug commercials, and shows a little girl on a bike being hit by a car of stoned teenagers. In this rendition however, Dave and his crew hit the kid, freak out, and then decide to chop her body up and stuff her remains down a drain. This is perhaps the raunchiest skit ever to appear on the show, and it is Dave's way of thumbing his nose at his harassers, saying, no, he won't back down.

It's been a while since I saw that skit, and I don't have the DVD's of season two, but is that what really happened? I remember the skit differently somehow, like the kid got up and kicked their ass or something. Can someone confirm this? If this part is wrong maybe this is supposed to be the clue that this site is parody or satire?

Fourteenth amendment

I haven't a clue which part of this he thinks applies here.

At least the legal profession is taking note of him - with any luck he'll be permanently disbarred or something.

You do realize that, without a graphics update, there's no reason to come out with a game after Civ2, right? If your system can't handle Civ4 go buy and play Civ3 or Civ2. The rest of us will move forward.

..why is it called 'Battle Carry'? It makes no sense to me.

I've never asked them actually, but I always figured it was something along the lines of "tough sounding words" - like /[Metal Slug]/ or /[Metal Gear Solid Substance]/.

It does make for a memorable name

because its one of those shitty installers that insist on using the C: drive, which doesnt have enough space

I just installed it on my D drive - just type in the name of the folder where you want it installed. The installer is not as slick as an InstallShield installer for sure, but it works fine.

The video was done weeks ago, so these bugs shouldn't be in the game anymore.

Where does 3d realms get funding?

From the Max Payne series, the licensing out of Duke Nukem to other developers (that Manhattan Project thing), the Max Payne movie rights (IIRC), outsourcing Prey to Human Head. Oh and I think they were smart with the small fortune they made off DN3D.

I still have this thing on CD-ROM. Back then I was kinda a Quake Slut of sorts and bought literally everything Quake related. After this and Deathmatch Maker I kinda changed my policy.

I'll go try this thing again but I seem to recall it not being so good.

EA won't get any money no matter WHERE you buy it, since EA didn't publish it...

Last month this statement would have been correct. Vivendi's deal with Valve ended on August 31st. They signed a new distribution deal with EA in August. This is the first release on that deal.

I saw copies of this in Fry's the other day. It's in a fairly thick DVD Keep case. Dunno how many discs it has, five at least I would imagine, perhaps six if HL:Source is on there too.

But the packaging doesn't give any indication of a publisher whatsoever. No EA logo, not even a mention of EA in the fine print (that I could see).

Well...

- I've never paid $50 for Battlefield Anything. I got BF:Vietnam for $30 on day 1 from Fry's.

- That 6 million sold bit likely includes all the expansion packs. And I think BF:V itself sold close to 3 million.

- Even if they were all $50 it's not like EA sees all that money. If the game went for $40 then they might see $17-18 after the distributors, retailers, etc. take out their cut.
