ere4s3r, totally serious inquiry.. are you playing on console? A friend and I at work were wondering where all these crazy ME:A flip out videos are stemming from. On PC I've only seen the occasional NPC warp into place, which actually happened far more for me in DA:I (seems to happen when I turn to face an NPC, like the system isn't always updating their position in the map when you aren't looking at them).

Another work friend states that his EA Access trial of ME:A was awful on his XBox One in terms of framerates tanking at times, so it's left me wondering.

Also, how was the prologue stupid?

You also wouldn't divert the resources to make planet fall without actually looking at the planet first, even the Nexus used satellites to scan planets first. Why would you make a ship without the ability to review options in contingencies? They obviously planned for issues with having pathfinders but none of the resources to do so?

It's made clear that the ship was damaged by the Scourge and it had sapped the power of the ship. They had to get away from it before the backup power ran out, which meant physically surveying the planet they intended to colonize to determine whether to start the process (waking up the other colonists) or head for the Nexus instead.

Heading for the Nexus with all of the colonists on board, instead of after waking them up and sending them to the planet is obviously a huge decision when they've already encountered a hostile "cloud". Something happens to the ship on the way to the Nexus, well that has different weight depending on which scenario is occurring.

News Comments > Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition Countdown?
8. Re: Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition Countdown? Mar 27, 2017, 22:19 Drayth

I did. For someone who's rather familiar with the originals, to suddenly have new content, with new characters and scripted events popping up it's kind of a trip.

Some people were critical of the new content. It's not amaazeballs, but it's nothing glaringly bad (imo). Plus, as far as I can tell, they didn't remove any of the old content. Pretty sure people would be screaming their head's off if so much a line of dialogue had been omitted.

And finally, last I checked (about a year ago) it was looking like the entire mod community was behind the EE's at that point. Pretty much everything's been or is being ported to them, so you can mod it out till your heart's content (and their engine fixes the goddam Beregost bug of old)...

I've not done a run which includes Dragonspear, though I do own it.

If you follow the list of mods here, one of the mods increases the font size of all of the text. I've played it using these mods at native 2K res in the past and it works great.

NEwayz, they've said in the past they would likely never do PS:T or IW2 because those each have heavily modified engines. Where as BG1 & 2 and IW1 can be all run from the same engine. Interesting...

As has been stated before, the Andromeda Initiative left Earth during the early ME2 timeline.

To everyone actually playing the game, I smirked when reading the ship computer entries on a datapad concerning the voyage that one year out it logged some "Anomalous readings" on it's sensors... heh.

Ah, okay. The entire concept of an FTL sensor is inane, but I'll accept a Magical McSpaceGuffin.

They did establish that data can be sent via quantum entangled pairs in ME2, which would be instantaneous no matter the distance. That's actually theoretically "doable", if not a bit of a mind fuck.(well this is assuming they got a sensor into Andromeda to beam the information back.. maybe I should watch that video. It's late, I'm at work.. I need to get out of here).

NM, watched the vid

And how do you know what he was like to work with KX? Maybe he was totally professional at work. Maybe he was really good at what he did? Sounds like they eventually took care of the problem, so can you turn your trigger off already?

48. Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda 4K Trailer Mar 19, 2017, 18:51 Drayth

I'd be pretty shocked if there weren't game-ready drivers for this one by Tuesday.

No crashes here in my 10 hours using 378.78, but w/e'vs.

Hopefully those drivers give just a bit more performance. I'm real close to 60fps with everything but shadows cranked up. And for the love of god, make motion blur a separate setting from post processing (when will these people learn??). They had a .cfg file trick for that in DA:I.. I'll have to dig that up.

Can someone tell me if the lipsync is really that bad? I'm staying away from trailers, as I've already pre-ordered and don't want any spoilers.

Can you compare them to some other game?

Bioware used Frostbite to make that last Dragon Age game, and there wasn't any lip sync issues there... perhaps it's the new version of Frostbite that's an issue? Or just incompetent devs?

If it's like that FFXV KingsGlaive movie, I'm going to be dissapoint. That movie had the best CG I've ever seen in my life, but somehow they still fucked up the lipsync, it was awful.

I played the first night before reading any of this controversy and nothing in those first 3 hours jarred me. I've now played 7 hours and there was one conversation where the facial animations resembled the comparison video from the other Blue's article. Guy just looked like he had way too much coffee and couldn't work his face and his eyes were locked at wide open.

The animations from ME1, which they used in that vid, were looped mo-cap animations. So while they looked great you would also eventually spot the same head nods, eyebrow raises, hand-on-hip movements over time. I don't see that kind of thing happening in this game.

Here's some positives: The environments on 4K HDR are fucking amazing. Maps are huge, so now you actually explore when you're on a mission. The combat and class skill system is fun as hell. Combat is WAY more deadly than any ME game before. Hardcore (the setting above normal) is kicking my ass on the first real mission. There's an interesting unlock system, which I wont spoil.. and there's actual crafting. Also I'm getting better frame rates than I was expecting, despite that the game ready drivers aren't out yet.

I'm not going to judge the story when I've only played what I feel is about 2% of the game. If it goes to complete shit along the way, I'm willing to gamble that, but so far it's actually had a few cool moments. I'm intrigued by one of the side quests I'm on and it's one of the first ones you get. Small spoiler --> involving a saboteur.

So yeah.. that's my take.
