My impression was that for one reason or another Faces of War was botched, and Men of War is the S:HOWW2 people taking the Faces of War engine and making a real game out of it.

Faces of War was an awful abortion of a game. Men of War, at least from the beta I've been playing, is fantastic, which makes it a true sequel to Soldiers, rather than a lackluster cash-in that I think wasn't even made by the original dev team.

That's fantastic. I wanted to play Galcon or whatever but it wasn't 100% free. Now it is!

Delay delay, I don't care. As long as the reviews are anything other than horrible this is a must-buy for me. Looks awesome.

Pirates use demos to crack the full version of the game, right? Maybe that's part of the calculus.

I feel sorry for Pitchford, assuming the PR dudes made him get thair haircut. In any case, they DID stick him in that moody lighting in front of a camera when everyone knows the proper place for developers is floating in the audio space, their disembodied voice narrating the game from a script they are obviously reciting word by word without any effort to make it sound natural.

Well, maybe that's not the best option. There's really no good way to present a game if you don't have smooth talking developers, really. PR people sound fake and the devs have no idea how to present stuff. Your only option is to get someone savvy to do it or get someone so interesting (IMHO Carmack, although I think many people would disagree) that it doesn't matter that the guy has no idea how to make himself sound interesting.

I've played through all three levels. It's quite fun, and the art and sound design is charming.

Not that many bugfixes, eh? Oh well, it was barely buggy for me on my first playthrough. Can't wait to try the new DLC out on my second runthrough.
