I'm going to make a rare exception to my rule not to enter political discussions. But when it invades water-bear space that's it...

People keep falling for the dems vs repubs shell game. It is all about entrenched Washington DC culture vs the rest of the country. The actions of these hypocrite republicans who voted over and over to repeal the ACA when they knew a veto was assured proves it. If congress was put under the ACA you'd see them singing a different tune. If the ACA is good enough for the rest of the country why should congress be exempt?

The folks glibly suggesting impeachment remind me way too much of the folks who ignited the Civil War following the election of Lincoln. We do NOT want to repeat that horror.

So long Chuck, loved the Gong Show. Loved the Wizard of Whoopie (The Unknown Comic) and GENE GENE THE DANCING MACHINE!

Wow... rest in piece, Chuck Berry. You were a pioneer of rock music.

Right on, (well, except it's peace not piece) I've always felt Chuck didn't get the accolades he deserved. George Thorogood always gave him his due. I believe this is a quote from George on Chuck Berry: “the most important rock guitarist of all time. He’s the man. He’s the link between blues and rock and roll. He never gets enough credit for it.” Guitarist

Re: No Man's Sky Path Finder Update.

Downloaded this last night, wow did the game screens get more vivid. I had been working my way to the center just in case this update made it more meaningful. Haven't seen anyone mention that it has, so I will wait around the edge of the center. Made the dune buggy this morning, but haven't driven it much yet.

All in all it looks and feels like more baby steps toward what the game should have been from the get go. So I will hang on to see how this plays out. I have to support an attempt to make a game that is not just another twitchy shooter. Newidea

First, I tip my hat to DiabloDM. I'm just satisfied I managed to best Coots and Bluehair. I know it's feeble, but you take your giggles where you can. Happy

Just like to point out 50 years ago today was Superbowl I. As a ten year old Chiefs fan then, it is not exactly a pleasant memory. But it is cool that KC was in the first one. And that ten year old kid didn't have to wait that long to see his beloved Chiefs win a Superbowl.

And tonight the Chiefs take on the Steelers to make another run.

GO CHIEFS! Pray

The story on the Queen nearly getting plugged reminded me of something I've noticed about the national media - they seemed to be fascinated by anything related to the British Royal family. The Queen gets a cold and we hear about it. Are we being conditioned to being sympathetic to monarchy? Why is it always the British Royal Family? There are after all other monarchies in the world. This Royal Family was the one we fought two wars to be rid of. I say good riddance. King

What superstition would that be? I've never heard of one related to calendars.

I have a close relative who must eat black-eyed peas on New Years Day - that is somehow going to make the coming year better.

P.S. Enh, on that Alien trailer. Didn't hook me remotely as much as the new Blade Runner one. Good that it has Billy Crudup in it. Always liked his work, especially as Pre in Without Limits.

I was also left underwhelmed. I expected this movie to give us a look at the Engineers home planet and the workings of their civilization. All I saw was the same old xenomorph bloodfest, oh right, this time it's different because we have a back-buster instead of a chest-buster. Rolleyes

Mr. Blue,

Take it from a retired food safety professional - buy yourself a digital probe thermometer. And then USE it.

That goes for all the Bluesnation... Chef

Most of these "Fact Checkers" are just a gimmick to push a particular point of view. You are expected to take the "Fact" with no evidence, like who exactly did the checking, and how? Thinking2

Re: Trump F-35 tweet slashes $2 billion off Lockheed Martin’s stock.

It's amusing to read the comments on this story and see people try to defend this bloated pig of a plane, just so they can whack at the Prez-elect.

Re: R.I.P.: Greg Lake- King Crimson and ELP star dies aged 69.

Two of ELP gone in the same year...

Greg Lake was one of my favorite vocalists, I was fortunate enough to see ELP during the Works Tour in 1977.

Thank You Mr. Lake, well done. Lighter
