P.S. Enh, on that Alien trailer. Didn't hook me remotely as much as the new Blade Runner one. Good that it has Billy Crudup in it. Always liked his work, especially as Pre in Without Limits.

I was also left underwhelmed. I expected this movie to give us a look at the Engineers home planet and the workings of their civilization. All I saw was the same old xenomorph bloodfest, oh right, this time it's different because we have a back-buster instead of a chest-buster. Rolleyes

Mr. Blue,

Take it from a retired food safety professional - buy yourself a digital probe thermometer. And then USE it.

That goes for all the Bluesnation... Chef

Most of these "Fact Checkers" are just a gimmick to push a particular point of view. You are expected to take the "Fact" with no evidence, like who exactly did the checking, and how? Thinking2

Re: Trump F-35 tweet slashes $2 billion off Lockheed Martinís stock.

It's amusing to read the comments on this story and see people try to defend this bloated pig of a plane, just so they can whack at the Prez-elect.

Re: R.I.P.: Greg Lake- King Crimson and ELP star dies aged 69.

Two of ELP gone in the same year...

Greg Lake was one of my favorite vocalists, I was fortunate enough to see ELP during the Works Tour in 1977.

Thank You Mr. Lake, well done. Lighter

Despite Neil deGrasse Tyson having a lot of fans, I've heard that he is one of the most stuck up arrogant "President of his own fan club" narcissists alive today.
I have no trouble believing that. Alien

Drug maker thwarted plan to limit OxyContin prescriptions.

Next year opioid production will be cut 25% in an attempt to reduce abuse. While I'm all for attempts to reduce abuse, I'm not sure this reduction won't hurt people who really need the drugs for pain management. In the past attempts at limiting pain medication have resulted in thousands needlessly suffering.

I'm with you on this. Deal with the abusers - but don't punish the truly ill. This one size fits all approach to problems just infuriates me.

The Fragmented patch involved a server wipe, but so far I like what I see. They also consolidated the servers which is fine since most were empty.

Cutter: 11-10-8, so he must be using Coots McGroot in the football league. So we are tied for now in the standings, with Blue (Hair) somewhere down the line. It's hard to see Blue from these lofty heights... Tongue

I ran across a large bottle of graphite powder in one of our local farm supply stores. They label it for use in seed planters to aid the seeds flowing through the mechanism. Thing is I paid not much more for that huge bottle than I would have for the small lock package. So I now have enough graphite to do the whole state. Thing is you city boys don't have access to a farm store. Mwahaha

What a coinky-dink we are in the middle of a tree removal operation. In fact I was just debating calling my tree guy to see how close he is too showing up. We have a monster of a silver maple in the backyard that I am afraid is one ice-storm away from crushing our garage and/or the neighbor's garage (both detached). We had it's twin removed ten years ago, and man has the price of tree removal gone up. Wish I could get in my time machine and go back to tell myself to have both removed at the same time. Xmastree

A friend of mine is fortunate enough to live in the part of the KC metro served by Google Fiber and he says he doesn't notice much of a difference in downloading data, it is the higher upload speed that impressed him. He is a commercial artist and works on large graphic and animation files which he sends to clients for review. Most of the traffic coming down seems to be limited by the service at the other end, if that makes sense.

Shoulda asks to see their parking lot camera footage, especially if you felt it was intentional.

edit: Also, this is why we have amazon.

I cancelled my Amazon order to save $2.00.

I will ask about cameras, but it doesn't seem like that sort of lot.

How much did you burn in gas to save that $2?

I have used Decluttr once to off-load some old DVD movies our family had taking up shelf space. My tip is note which DVDs\games they are offering more for and check those on past eBay auctions. Doing that told me which ones to sell on ebay, and which to dump on them. Worked out fine for us.
