Known so far:

Human - ALL
Mirialans - Jedi Consular, Smuggler
Miraluka - Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular
Twi'lek - Jedi Consular, Smuggler
Sith Pureblood - Sith Warrior
Zabraks - Trooper, Jedi Knight, Imperial Agent, Bounty Hunter
Rattataki - Bounty Hunter, Sith Inquisitor
Chiss - Imperial Agent

Obviously this isn't a final list... but I found it here:

I only got to see four races and one of them was not on that list. But then they are all humanoid races. Like somebody else said it makes sense with all the voice acting and cutscenes required. Anyway I don't work there and your guess is as good as mine. Not to mention I know a lot less about the canon than most. I've seen the movies but other than that... nothing.

Why, oh why, didn't they just create map packs with new armies? I would have bought them all. Or did they lose their ability to create and balance a few more armies? I can't see how that was/is the case since they had so many races in DoW and DoW2. CoH is still the best RTS in my opinion. I can't stand most of the others with there large groups of troops standing around firing on each other out in the open until they all drop or take out the enemy. If the troops don't use cover and terrain reasonably I don't care to play it. I hope they consider another sequel.

Not sure if it's any good but damn these "digital downloads" have got to be raking in the money this year. I've bought more games over the Net this year than all the others combined. Trying to hold off buying Torchlight at the moment since DAO is releasing Tuesday but damned if the addictive gameplay hasn't got me ready to buy it anyway...

I'm enjoying the Hell out of this game. I did use a couple mods or tweaks is more like it. The game is far better than BE5. As far as close quarters tangos popping in and out of LOS? I haven't seen any of that here. If you haven't bought it yet and you want to know more post again, I'll get an e-mail notification and go into more detail. I'm at work now. I just happened to open my iPhone and one of the tabs was still on this page.

You can get the PC CD version pretty cheap on the net or get the Matrix download version. Great game for $30.

The Demo was ok but is the retail version the same? I tried to find some LOS indicator so my troops would stop firing into the ground. Another thing I never figured out was your troop percentage to hit. Is it even calculated... if so is there any display for it? I looked for a manual online and had no luck. Wanted to roll the dice on a $29 download version but couldn't even find and good reviews. Is there a nodding community yet?

Sorry, for all the questions. I just need some user feed back before purchasing. Oh, what is the CQC like? Is LOS an issue in close quarters as it was with BE5?

From your exagerations it almost sounds like you're not playing the game or need to go back to consoles. It's hard to take you serious when you're listing BS as fact. Even if most of the list is opinion based the false statements make your opinion mute.

There has been away to report gold/power leveling chat/e-mail spammers since day one. This will just make it easier for those too lazy or just lacking motivation. If you hate them and what they'll do to the games economy do take the minute or two it takes to report them.

Fion, you're putting more effort in talking down WAR than you did proping up AoC. What gives? Are you just a hater that can't let it go or what? WAR is one of the best MMOs to date no matter if you like it or not. You never answered my question about what characters you played and to what level? Either way let it go, dude. Go play AoC, have fun and hate less....

Edit: And remember Obama is willing to buy your vote on the promise of a middle class tax cut but when was the last time a candidate followed through? When was the last time any Democrate President gave us a tax cut?

A store manager told me they only made 60,000 copies of the CE which is strange since EA is in charge. You figured if there were more money to be made they would be all over it.

I didn't pre-order because I wasn't in the beta and after being burned on a few other shitty CEs and hearing the WoW/Anti-WAR fabois here talking the game down for months I figured I'd play it safe and pass.

No biggie either way now. I'm ok with a standard version.

I loved AoC's combat but it never seem like all out war. WAR on the other hand... I've been in few battle between Keeps and there were over 50 players. That's both sides but still. And what's so cool is late at night when the pop goes down on the server a small well orginized group can take some control back from the enemy.

I've played 3/4 of the races/classes and they all play different and only one I didn't care for. My biggest problem has been choosing a side and character to play since they've all been so much fun.

I loved the videos these guys made at the conventions. They are funny and down to Earth and the feeling I got is they are just ordinary people enjoying what they do in the games Biz. They may have a penis for a CEO (or whatever Mark is) but then most of us do. At least those of us who work for corps.

I'm not going to try to persuade any one to buy this game. But at least try it out. And hopefully they will do a really Open Beta or a Trail sooner or later. This is by far the best RvR game I've tested. So much fun when you have dozens of players facing dozens of players in a battle to control a area or advance your area of control. Can't wait for retail.

Forgive me if I have any mispellings. On my iPhone drinking beer at La Nita's and waiting for my wife to get off work.

Mmmm Beer, chips, and salsa.

I bought & downloaded the D2D version over the weekend I posted my initial or first impression in the Iron Tower forums under RPG Discusion I think. Can't link due to no copy & paste on the iPhone.... D'oH!

It's fun, I played a lot on Sunday but have been too busy since then. I'll cut and paste when I get to a normal PC.

The entire game is just 2.4Gb if I'm not mistaken. Graphics are good. Combat is a clickfest and I have yet to see any finishing moves as shown on the website. Wonder if they removed the death-blows to get a better rating in NA?

And GTA IV is one of the best games I've ever played.

I'll buy it again for the PC if they put it out just for the mods. And most likely getting SR2...

"This game is crap from a violence standpoint. Whether you agree with me or not, I don't care. I was very excited about this game but when I played it a month from release during the PVP weekend, I was very disappointed. The gore is crap, and I didn't notice any non-grind gameplay. (It seemed like a cookie-cutter MMO rip-off... A well funded instant MMO of just-add-water status... minus real water).

Perhaps the latter part isn't in the final product as claimed (no more endless killing monsters to level), but the former most likely is. This aspect of the game is an integral aspect of the so-called "death" of the game industry, and while the majority won't agree with me (hmmm...) I stand by this until the end."

I love the game... the ultra violent death animations are great. They did reduce their amount. In beta they were happening at the least every half dozen kills. Sometimes more frequent... it seemed.

Anyway the rivers of blood spurting from wounds, the lopping off of heads, the impaling of bodies, and my fav is running your sword thru an NPCs chest turning it sideways and then using your foot to shove them back off your weapon. Great game. (Now I'm waiting to see a post about all those topless PCs running around with their nipples out... oh the inhumanity of it.)

As far as the ban goes... people need to realize once they freeze an account they begin going thru all the info on how that person gained their wealth. So after locating a large e-mail deposit of gold then they have to check into the person or other character who sent it. It take time... and my guess more accounts will be frozen or banned as the investigation grows.

Bravo to FunCom. Sorry if your account is one. Or your guild leaders. Just start another character or work on one of your alts.

It's a blast that is for sure. Not sure about longevity but time will tell. I've never had so much fun playing PvP. And though there are a lot of little features that would have been nice (that we are use to seeing in other games) the game is solid. One thing I like is that it has some features to help you but doesn't go over-board. It doesn't coddle you. It most definitely doesn't play itself with minimal input from the gamer.

Again not the best thing since wet vagina but still pretty damned fun...

Well the 5 hour downtime has turned into a 8+ hours downtime and according to their link they should have been up an hour ago. Kind of a bummer...

Good thing I got GTA IV to keep me going. But I been switching between the two on my monitor all evening. Updating and attempting to log into AoC then switching back to Nico to run riot in the streets of Liberty City.

Good times...

"Well shee-it...everyone else is a bad driver except yourself. Heh."

I'm assuming you mean me and not Blue.

I'm not saying I'm perfect but I drive as part of my job. So between getting to work and back, plus the driving each day... I'd say I drive ten times more than most that work in this city.

So yeah. I'm a better drive than most. With training and the threat of huge trouble if we're in an accident (our fault or not). Self insured corporations are a bitch.

I've noticed a lot of driving that has me wondering just how many people are playing GTA IV and actually driving as if they are still in the game. I've seen more than a dozen whack drivers doing crazy shit this past week.

A kid in a little Honda Civic flipping a U-turn on a three lane one-way street and almost getting plowed by a large Ram Pick-Up truck with a lift kit making the bumper higher than the top of the kid's Honda.

A female teenage driver with an older male (probably Dad) in the passenger seat drives straight through an intersection while in the right turn lane then continues up the road for a quarter mile as if she is actually in a second lane that doesn't exist yet actually driving in the bike lane and on shoulder.

I could go on but you get the point.... people are fucking nutts.

"Ubisoft SAID the reason there was a performance increase is that an entire rendering pass was taken out! It would have actually been SLOWER if it was in and working in DX 10.1 mode. Many sites offered up proof of some graphic anomalies due to the missing rendering pass, backing up ubisofts reason for removing it."

From what I understand it's actually DX that is taking it out, a difference between version 10 and 10.1 mode. Not Ubisoft doing it. And from what I also understand it's being reverted to fix issues caused by 10.1 on cards running version 10. But what do I know?

Yeah, from everything I have seen the single-player missions end there on Tortage but not the ability to solo.

At roughly level 19 or 20 (could be higher if you're a grinder) you finish the night missions (single-player) on Tortage the starter Island.

You leave Tortage or return to your Homeland (which depends on your race). Once there you are always in the multi-player part of the game from what I have experienced. However, there are a lot of instances where only you (or only your group) will be in there.

"Is there a Storyline in the Daytime for grouping or is it only Grind style quests?"

Both, but you leave the day/night multi/single splitt behind in Tortage. Again, a huge plus is the ability to solo. Although it won't be easy for some character builds.
